1. Seen it before, really odd. Surely that must be the only time a third umpire has been needed to judge on that type of thing?
2. Crash Test Dummies- Mmm Mmm Mmm What an odd song!
3. If I'm being whooshed apologies, but I'm a helpful bloke. 1. It was 50 overs old, not 50 years. Which is about 300 balls. 2. The umpires were Australian and from the West Indies. *prepares to be whooshed*
4. Yep. Apparently he no balled him from both the bowlers end and the strikers end which seems rather unfair! He's never one to shirk a decision mind.
5. How have they effectively replaced him if he's still standing in tests? 182185 Hair recieves far fewer appointments than the younger umpires. I was making more of a generational point really, that the older umpires (Orchard, Shepherd,Venkat) have been replaced by the much younger ones. Bucknor and Hair are the only ones really left.
6. Hair's coming towards the end of his career anyway, so I wouldn't be surprised if he retired. The younger umpires like Dar, Taufel and Bowden have effectively replaced him anyway.
7. Its called 'Another Girl, Another Planet' by The Only Ones. You'll be happy to know Blink 182 covered it last year.
8. Had to watch 'Cars' with some bratty 4 and 5 year olds! Animation is absolutely incredible, but the story was a bit crap.
9. If repitition is the mother of all cop-outs then stop going on about the price. It's his bloody choice if he wants to pay £7.50 to go and see a film man 180917 Agreed, do we have to approve all our social plans with Fish first now?
10. Agreed Walliver. I'd say get a BA in History/Politics/English/a language and then do a postgrad in Journalism/Broadcast Journalism or go straight into the local media and work your way up. Make sure your course is accredited by the NUJ or the BJTC though. You a journo Walliver?
11. 'The crowd favorite and star of the evening was Elmar Weisser of the Swabian Beard Club, who whose hirsute representation of the Brandenburg Gate earned him first place in the freestyle full beard category.' Sounds great!
12. How many housemates are in there tonight? I haven't really followed it, but there seems to be 6 in for the final! How are they gonna fit it all in?
13. peasepud was the first person I recognised when I went as well. He's huggge!
14. When I was at Radio Cleveland a few weeks ago, Chubby Brown was in plugging his new book. He tried to hit on all the female staff and his 'banter' went down like a lead balloon! And his book is shite arnal!
15. I'm really talkative, so I probably couldn't cope on my own. I like to share experiences with other people, so would probably end up talking to some randoms!
16. In Lee Sharpe's autobiography, he tells a story about some Bradford City player (can't remember who). This lass asked him to 'talk to her' so his response? 'Why isn't there any Vimto in that vending machine?' For the rest of his time at ther club, everyone put Vimto bottles in his locker as word spread round!
17. We also took 40 sick and disabled people who stay in the hospital there and need nurses, doctors, and other people to care for them full time whilst they're there. The young people make up part of that team. So in answer to your question - they go to do something worthwhile, to make a difference, to make the lives of people less fortunate than themselves a little bit better and to do something they can be proud of. It beats sitting in front of a computer all day or drinking cider on street corners. It's not something they brag about cos it's not "cool" but they were all amazing. Oh, and there were actually 140 of the young'uns - only half of them were under 18. 176443 Sorry Cath, was just a question. Wasn't having a go!
18. ... no one wants to call spongey on his arrogance? anyone? no-one? how droll 176362 He's right though.
19. Begs the question like, why would 16 year olds want to go to Lourdes?!
20. My first post on the old Toontastic (was probs about 2001/2002) was about musicals! And Gemmill as ever replied with a sarcy comment! Not that I'm still bitter or anything.
21. I love musicals. Saturday Night Fever Jesus Christ Superstar Fame Grease All good.
