Toon bid hopefuls backed by New York firm
ChezGiven replied to Geordiejihad's topic in Newcastle Forum
I thought it was Deloitte & Touche that handled all the football deals. This smells like the end of wacky's cock. -
Mary, thinking everyone is jealous of you is a symptom of your ego, not others. It was just a simple point. For the record, am impressed with your claim, i think its a pretty impressive physical achievement. It was the inadvertent psychological revelations that have amused me most though. One which you seem to be 'projecting' on to others

This is that charm of which you spoke, Fop likes it. Although again why would this "information" matter? Unless this board was full of Fopsessives mad for any slight piece of information on Fop, yet equally desperately haunted by the green eyed monster and brittle ego's? Like information about a poster's profession matters? Personal information matters to you, you use it as often as you can in debate on here. Time to taste your own (generic priced) medicine. Is your vain desire for body perfection relevant to topics of discussion on this board? Perhaps. Does it help explain your 'need' to win arguments? Certainly. You discuss ego but it seems your the one who spends time on ego-driven activity.

Unelected? How come he's got a seat in parliament then? Do you seriously blame him for the global financial crisis? Honestly, have you thought about it?
-
Has anyone on here any idea what would have happened if labour had followed the Conservative response to the financial crisis?
-
Mandelson's speech was cringeworthy too, couldnt believe the reaction it got, the self-indulgent prick looked so pleased with himself.
-
Worryingly, mine seems to be working. For the record, i believe fop, i have no reason to disbelieve him really. He does see this board as a battle between himself and the rest of the world so it was telling he posted this information about himself, just before going on holiday only to resurrect it on his return. He claims that the responses to him are psychological goldmines but in doing so fatally reveals himself at the same time. Works both way basically. A bit like his bum.

Mayonnaise? I like to look at history from the perspective of the estate agent. Best bit of real estate in the region, thats the problem.

You can get rid of a tumour so that absolutely no cancer cells are observable in the body. If detected early in Breast, surgery and chemo will more than likely destroy it. In the worse case, or if the cancer is located where you cant feel lumps (the kidney for example), it will metastasise, meaning it will spread to other organs (through the lymphatic system). In this case, genetic science is at the frontier of its understanding. If you look at post 16 in this thread, you'll see a simplified sketch of the microcellular process that leads to cancer. Except not really, that diagram sort of shows you what's meant to happen. Biological and genetic variety (the very stuff of evolution) means that this microcellular world is the most complex system we are able to study. With the US spending trillions on healthcare, there is no incentive to veto any cure for cancer.

Quick calll Karl Popper, modern science is under attack by an accountant!

I blatantly couldnt do that if i spent the next 5 years training. Then again, i prefer charm when it comes to impressing other people.

I'll wear my cowboy hat then. I know you'll like that.

That's almost the scene but Begbie and Renton are just going for a piss in the disused Leith Railway station. An old pisshead ('jakey' as Welsh would say) says 'What you doing lads, Trainspotting?' or something along those lines. Renton realises who it is as they're walking away (Begbie's Dad, who Begbie never sees) and Begbie, also realising who it was goes in a rage and half kills someone for looking at him the wrong way. I think it's also a more general reference to shooting heroin as well plus there's probably a few more interpretations you could get into. Is that scene in the film? I read the book in the mid-90s so that was pretty astounding recall for me. It's just in the book. I must have re-read it then.
-
I just said i was genuinely frightened, i can get my head round it, far too easily actually. A self-righteous, pernickety body-builder who refers to himself in the 3rd person, screams raging homosexual. Its like a piece in a jigsaw for me.

Its the scene in the book where they meet Begbie's (?) Dad down by some disused railway tracks or something. They are looking for somewhere to shoot up and the dad/tramp says 'what you doing down here lads, trainspotting?' as a joke. Shooting smack = trainspotting, in a loose sort of way. Thats just my theory anyway.

If i dont have to work on the monday, am in.

Attain goes to Haberdashers school btw. Its a very posh school for jewish kids in north london. Hmmm
-
For me, thats shit. Its in now way equivalent to earning £56k in the UK either.
-
Depends on your reference point. My equivalent in NYC earns $350k. Not that big a job either.
-
You should read Steven Levitt's take on the reasons for the reduction in US crime during the period you are referring to. I think he uses NYC as an example too.
-
Speaking of which, i was genuinely disturbed to finally profile fop as an erratic, unstable gay body-builder. Anyone that into body image and who goes on like that, referring to himself in the 3rd person, has to be gay. The case was nailed when Gejon was the only other person in thread having a good time.

Not really, teachers make around $50k a year Yeah, teachers get paid badly. I know what my job pays in the US and i know what i'm paid in the EU. 90k is not a great place to be when it comes to health insurance, education etc. Its not poverty by any means of course but its not great. The national average in the states is $35,000, 90k doesn't sound too bad... All that says to me is that there's a lot of people on the bread line. Don't they argue that the middle-income families are totally screwed by the system in America? Earn too much to benefit from government health and education systems, but not enough to pay for private firms to supply a decent standard? I wouldnt move there for 90k if i was on 25k in the Uk but thats for lots of reasons.

Aye, you've really captured the craic at dinner parties across the capital there. From Islington to Barnes and from Highgate to Clapham its 'some darkie was on the filmset this morning Tabatha, right lazy spacka he was'. The East end is racist bizarrely but that working class culture is drifting further East as your likes of the fish has moved in and gentrified the place with his blazer/converse combo.
