Is no-one else considering Keegan might be to blame?
ChezGiven replied to Happy Face's topic in Newcastle Forum
Ashley or Llambias or whoever has made a massive fucking cock up out of the whole situation by allowing it to happen. Whats absolutely nailed on is that Keegan leaked the news of him leaving on tuesday morning and was angling to get out of the club in a way that suits him. Blame on both sides. -
You talk it over, reach an agreement and then put it in writing. To put it in a letter is as good as daring him to resign. I'm fucking disgusted. They have been in 'extensive discussions' for 2 days, the only way to formalise the club's position is to then put in writing. Has no one beng paying attention to events? And apparently not reached an agreement. Because sending him the letter with a content that didn't satisfy Keegan was more or less begging him to resign (something they probably were aware of, but now saves them some compensation). Ok fair enough, this is not worth arguing about. It just seemed normal to me after debating the points for 2 days. Going to the pub. Am utterly deflated, but at times like these we all need to stick together.

The only way to change the terms of employment is in writing.

Why Bilic over Laudrup may I ask? Bilic is a smoker. Bilic smoking on the touchline shouting out instructions might just be the best thing ever tbh If it wasn't banned aye.

Barbados or the U.S. apparently. My bet is he's been on fantasy island for about a week. He's got the little butler fella running things at our place as DoF The resemblance is uncanny
-
He doesnt know where he is, nor does he care i imagine.

Is the squad worse than it was in January? Seems to be the only accusation, apart from the doubts about his commitment. Stick to (very good) match reports lads.

My thoughts exactly. Could be but what is unarguable is that Mort was the one who implemented it. And possibly the man who made it work. It does appear that way, it was him who kept the pieces in order by the looks of things. Then again, he did get out before the transfer window opened so it was just first team matters at issue when him and Keegan were together at the club.

Ashley didnt design the structure, Mort did. Ashley only got properly involved after Keegan made his comments after the Chelsea match.

Owen to lead a player revolt for answers over Kevin Keegan's future

Insane, if that's true. I had heard that but I dont remember where from, I just dismissed it as folly It was in the times i think, poss the torygraph. -

nope, but it was a nice distraction, just like the mockery of the 'appy 'ammers losing their manager in similar situation to us, without anything like the media frenzy. It's like gallows humour, you've got to laugh or you'd cry. The only reason there was a frenzy was because no one at the toon would give a straight answer. TBH some of you lot appear to be revelling in the attention of this farce....its odd. Nah it's embarrassing to be honest, but it perfectly illustrates the difference between clubs like West Ham/Tottenham and ourselves. No one really cares when anything happens at your clubs, when something happens here there's a media meltdown from Inverness to the Isles of Scilly. If you go on any clubs forum throughout the country there'll be 10 threads on the front page about Newcastle and Keegan, did this happen about Jol or Santini, no one noticed or cared, "ah its only Tottenham so fuck". You will plead ignorance but you know exactly what I mean. Today was a classic example, "so Curbishley has left West Ham, now back to our main story, still no news from St James'..." I have to say it was my first day back in the office today since the weekend and when i got in i had Paulo (Portuguese, Benfica) and Younnis (Algerian/French, Marseille) at my desk double quick going 'whats going on!??' Berbawho? Robbedblindinho? Nah, Keegan.

Class. Unlucky!

Props. It was more about a power vacuum after he left, rather than anything he did when he was here (other than set the vision) and the types of character Keegan was up against. All ambitious men by the sounds of things.

Mainly by Parky tbf I think it's fair to say that something (or things) happened very recently that were the final straw for the bloke. I sincerely believe he's acting with the fans best interests at heart too. I'm completely unconvinced the others are doing the same. I will stand with him. No worries. I have no doubt he was with us....to the end... I agree, I don't think he had any allies once Mort went either. None with any influence anyway. I think we are beginning to realise what a decent man Mort was. Its not a question of deceny, think its a question of politics. I posted this on NO last night, dont have muc time today so havent edited it for this thread but you'll get the gist as alex has already said virtually the same thing earlier on in this thread.

From Theregulars on NO. Makes sense to me.

U fucking idiot. You have them to thank if keegan stays. Its them mongs whove made a stand and brought the board to see sense if that is indeed the case Thats the funniest thing i've read today.
-
I'd agree for the shear fact they've waited all day to release a tiny comment like this. THE ARE SHITTING IT. Every piece of evidence now tells you Keegan has said he wants out and the likelihood is its over control of transfer policy. Of course they are shitting it as they want him to stay. Its not like they've sacked him and changed their minds due to rent-a-mong outside SJP.

Its the most likely scenario and i dont think his future is certain, the statement has probably been demanded by the police though. I hope this is Keegan showing the owners and the board where the real power in the club is at the moment.
