  1. james perch, was being climbed on for the first by huth, scored their second has been booked in EVERY game so far is shit and shouldnt not play if we have ANY other player fit to play there Ryan Taylor is at least good at free kicks and has the odd good game, Perch just doesnt look up to this league whatsoever
  2. think everyone's going a bit overboard here, yeah we've lost to two of the beatable teams but weve also beaten two of the teams we wernt expected to beat so Id say were still on course for a stunning 13th place finish this season.
  3. Shawcross/Huth/Wilkinson etc will be gang raping Ben Arfa and not be carded then Barton will look at the ref and get sent off
  4. by your logic, then he would be !!! Well it didn't take the thick cunt long to get confused Discussion over
  5. is it too late to agree to disagree?
  6. start Carroll, if we're in trouble throw on Shola, if he saves us start him in the next game, if he goes back to his usual impression of a pantomime horse playing football then banish him to the bench forever more.
  7. what an odd thread, just read a small portion of it and feel like I'm going mad
  8. I throw a second question to that. Are the almighty fuck ups by Ashleys unforgivable? Mainly on KK, comments from the tribunal, relegation, etc? Or, is there a point in time when we take stock and say "you know what? we are now in a better position than we were in before he bought the club". Could you go for a pint down the big market? Well, he'd deserved to be lamped for going there in the first place, but there is always some uneducated numpty wanting to be clever so I'd say probably no. Does he have a future at the club? I wouldnt rule it out but every time I think he has learned from his mistakes around the corner is another almighty fuck up. While they keep quiet and while decent players come in and CH is allowed to get on with it, I'm holding fire. With them you do always wonder if there is something round the corner waiting to jump up and bite. Pretty much sums up my feelings on Ashley at the moment, sensible signings like Tiote and Ben Arfa have given me a bit more enthusiasm for the future but we'll have to wait and see, they've certainly fucked up enough in the past to make even the most optimistic fan cautious.
  9. If only he played like he did tonight all the time eh? He could easily have been in England international if he had any sort of consistancy throughout his career, it's a real shame that he's seen as such a joke because obviously on his day he is extremely dangerous. This is the sort of game he pulls out of the hat every few years that makes you feel like hes worth keeping around...
  10. I must admit it pisses me off that everyone, fans and club personnel give up on this competition before its even started. Something needs to be done to either make it extremely worthwhile, make clubs put out their strongest team or scrap it all together. I absolutely hate our games that involve "playing the kids". To me a game is a game and if we dont win I dont like it. As said above its not a lot of extra games to get to the final. We are probably playing a lot less games than last season anyway. I would rather go out to win. I dont mind us playing the kids if we have a realistic chance of winning with them against a lower league team for instance, but in a game against Chelsea who will probably field a weakened team, if we play our strongest 11 (possibly including one or two of the best youngsters, eg Vuckic) we could actually go out and win but if we play a full team of kids there's little hope. It's madness that we write off the competition, it's all well and good for the likes of Chelsea/Arsenal(who actually fielded a pretty strong team last night) as their kids will beat most first team squads anyway.
  11. I dont understand people dismissing this cup, its not like theres that many extra games to play, its only two legged ties in the semis IIRC so it would be only 4 extra games after Chelsea to get to the final. A- It's our only hope of winning anything for a long time B- It's a relatively easy route into Europe as even getting to the final and losing would do if we play one of the CL teams. C- Blackburn, Boro, Lecister etc have won it in recent(ish) years so if we can get past an understrength Chelsea I dont see why we couldnt have a go too tbh.
  12. Stating the fact that most cases of rape in the UK are committed by black people is in no way racist, crime rates in general are much much higher in certain black communities as everyone knows and there are many reasons why this this is the case, none of which are to do with race. I really wish people bringing up this subject didnt automatically result in them being branded racist. As for the initial comment from Stevie being off topic its hardly as off topic and derailing as a lot of the stuff in threads on here and any other forum vfor that matter. At least it didn't result in Leazes v Skidmark debate (yet)
  13. Agreed, if Chelsea really are putting out the kids we should be putting out pretty much our strongest team imo, it's our only realistic (slim) hope of winning anything for the forseable future
  14. There was also the return of Pav
  15. Normally I respect what Caulkin has to say but that's half a story there in bold. We've done this one to death in the past but the club prostituted Given around the Premiership in the run up to the January transfer window despite his 10 years service and then when Given told them to go fuck themselves, they played the victim and claimed he was trying to engineer his way out. And yes I am ITK on this one and no, I'm not going to disclose any further. It's all irrelevant, he'll never come back so long as the club is owned by Ashley and I imagine Ashley is too stubborn to back down. Just saddens me to realise that those fuckwits have hoodwinked so many of our supporters on the Given situation. Really? I never saw/noticed those posts. I've discussed it several times in here. Can't be arsed to search for it all but I'm sure Alex will vouch as he was about the only one to see it the same way. I completely agreed with you on the one Craig, I know for a fact Given was treated very poorly indeed in his last few weeks at the club. In saying that, I still want to see how Krul gets on so I'd rather we get some experienced bench warmer as an emergency keeper if we are able to.
  16. Says who? Would make sense to put a clause in, especially after seeing the Hart farce last season. Says Hughton http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...ted/9015261.stm
  17. we've had a fear of playing young players going back years now, it was only through injuries that Carroll got the chance to prove consistantly that he's decent. It's very frustrating, like when we through Milner out on loan to Villa or found any way to not play NZogbia when he was younger.
  18. for the size of the town Blackburn get decent crowds even if theyre one of the smallest in the league
  19. and all those Greek losers have more european cup winners medals too, so basically that means very little, that Italy team that won the world cup was fairly average but they were well organised and lucky throughout the tournament. As for Totti, in his heyday I think he was of similar quality to Lampard but he declined a lot faster.
  20. their league has gone quite shit aside from Inter tbf
  21. When do we play them again.... To be fair all four of the teams theyve played so far are worse than us imo
  22. More past it or perma-crocked than overrated I'd say, in their day Smith, Nolan, Duff, Geremi, Owen etc ect were somewhere between half decent and excellent but we stupidly bought them up based on their past histories rather than current form/ability/fitness.
  23. this is true of Nolan anyway, his goals were vital and all that though he didnt do much else but the thing is Smith wasn't even much use in what was a very poor championship for most of the season.
  24. If I'm not mistaken didn't Bobby recommend Mourinho as his own replacement and all...or was that something I imagined?
  25. I never for one minute believed it was the right time for Bobby to go, it was a ludicrous decision, the only reason to have sacked him was if we could have hired Wenger or some mad hypothetical bollocks like that, we got rid of one of history's greatest managers and replaced him with one of the worst, all done in a horrible manner as well. Top managers don't just grow on trees and even if we hadnt gone for Souness would likely have replaced him with someone inferior.
