  1. Didn't we do this last week
  2.
  3. Used to camp there when I was a scout Whats the price to get in?
  4. From RTG http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=620174
  5. Were the player celebrations at full time on the telly? I went walkabout with 5 to go so missed the end. Ive seen a few stills of them celebrating at our end and just wondered how it came about etc and what the celebrations were like.
  6. Hate shaving but couldn't live with a beard for the itchiness and food droppings. I do occasionally after a week or so growth like to shave off in a style and then see what it looks like before finishing the shave. Sometimes it's a simple goaty and sometimes a three musketeers job or even a porn star tash!
  7. You really are a journalist's wet dream. What I want to know is how you get through everyday without buying magic beans?
  8. Reading a few of the reports in the papers this morning they are giving credit to Pardew for changing the formation / the game at half time and that had Bruce had no answer to this. Tbf I never really notice that sort of stuff, but if its correct then I think thats another positive having someone who knows what changes need making and is confident enough to make them. I also think its a bit harsh that Best hasnt had a go as he probably had the best pre-season out of all the strikers. Maybe he'll get and take his chance on Thursday.
  9. I just wonder if thats more to do with Pardew sending the team out with a defend at all costs first policy. As Stevie says grinding out results everton style. I also agree that the reins will come off against lesser sides allowing more attacking football. Of course when the left winger isnt having to cover the left back as much and we find a striker who can score, it will also be a lot easier.
  10. I wonder why scarves became uncool I used to like a nice scarf.
  11. Is this something thats taking off on Twitter?
  12. I think all he is saying in that piece is that once a target has been agreed, its the guys upstairs who do the negotiating and try to close the deal. In other words, saying he is just as pissed off as anyone else that some of the players we have targeted havent come to fruition. Of course clubs like Man U will be an awful lot more skilled at this sort of thing and have a lot more to offer, but I get his point.
  13. Im starting to feel quite good about this season (surprise surprise), particularly now this horrendous summer is coming to an end. A few more targets through the door, particularly someone who knows where the goal is, and I think we will be set up nicely for a canny year. Could Pardew get the first manager of the month award?
  14. Bit of a worry that two games in a row he's made challenges in the box that other referees could have awarded penaltys for.
  15. I would also imagine Pards is on a canny little bonus scheme for a cup.
  16. Yup, I dont want to hear any of this concentrating on the league crap this year. I would like us to really have a go.
  17. I think they showed with the Cabaye deal that it is possible for our transfer team to get everything right. Where it seems to have gone wrong after that is targetting players who just wanted to be elsewhere ie Gervinho and Gameiro or by penny pinching when it comes to getting deals over the line ie Erdinc. Hopefully we can get these last two deals over the line, learn and move on. I think the quality of the players we have got or "appeared" to be after shows that Graham Carr has been following the right ones.
  18. Really looking forward to this and hopefully getting a good look at Gosling, Marveaux, Vuckic, Ferguson etc. Should be able to get a canny second side out for this. However saying that, I think Pardew will be buoyed at our start and knows that a cup is our only chance of silverware so he might really go for this.
  19. You have to stop and smell the roses Mr Manc. Carp diem and all that. (The thought of all those Frenchys and Argies mumbling through the verses and getting louder at the chorus, amuses me.
  20. 3 pies and a slab of Northumberland cheese as it happens. Not consumed on site.

  22. Sounds like a canny Team spirit to me.
  23. Just had a lovely stroll along the quayside market. Parked on the Gateshead side and wandered across the bridge. Must say really impressed since I havent been to the market there for 20 odd years. Nice change for A Sunday morning. Quite fancy doing one of those three hour cruises to the sea and back. Always fancied seeing landmarks from the river.
