I fully understand if you or others dont want to get involved in gossip about possible incomings. Thats fair enough and you can avoid the papers, talk sport etc etc and ignore the odd post or two on the internet but basically in close season I dont think its a big deal and imo has always been part of the fun of close season. We might get this one, we've been linked with that one..... etc etc And yes Douglas broke the Marveaux transfer (I think) but Cabaye was broken on Twitter and Nolan to West Ham was broken on Toontastic!

Its the stigma society attaches to the word that makes it offensive. Cunt is like Fuck was to a degree some forty years ago. We couldnt even say it which is why we have "The F word". Eventually it becomes, through use, more acceptable to the extent that fuck is such a throwaway remark these days in lots of different contexts. The english language needs to have a bad boy and currently cunt is it. It is amusing how we associate distaste with body parts. Imagine having a blazing row and calling someone a stupid ear.

Seriously Craig they are all old hat with regard to up to date news. I cant remember the last time one of those "broke" a story. Can you? Trust me, its not the local journos getting the stories. Take Cabaye for instance, some random searching the internet saw it on a french website and posted it. 4 days later it was the Sunday Suns exclusive. Depends on your definition of breaking a story. Yours is evidently a case of who said it first, regardless of their source. It's the equivalent of my mate who told me before Euro 96 that we would sign Shearer before the summer was out. He didn't know anything it was simply a 'pie in the sky' comment with no foundation. Doesn't mean he broke the story to me. It's the manner in which you post it too. I refer you to my earlier point re Cabaye. @msidouglas broke it as an "exclusive" 4 days after some kid broke the story on twitter after looking at french websites. As Stevie has been saying for months, Twitter is a news revolution that normal media just cant keep up with. Me or you spot Teves in a black cab pulling into the Gosforth Park and the word is spread around thousands in minutes.

No, you are missing the point. Part of the fun of close season / transfer time is the gossip, the rumour mill, the what ifs. Might not be for you, but it certainly is for a lot of us and twitter is just as unreliable as all the same gossip in the Sun, mail, express etc etc. Thats one side of the fun of transfer time. The other side is that any genuine transfer news will most likely break on twitter first. Therefore getting hold of the correct news means watching twitter. It seems very simple to me that the likes of you who dont want to get involved in the possible transfers, simply avoid commenting on loose news that is posted from Twitter and wait instead until the club confirm it. Simples.

I know, but even the Journos are struggling to be first with the news these days, even via twitter. Its just a case of who spots the news on twitter first and relays it and these "itk's" are usually watching a lot more twitter news sources than me.

Nice video. What it doesnt show is Miradhina launching a kunG fu kick into Dave Beasants back as they came off the field at full time. Me and our lass were stuck behind two huge stinky Brazillians during that game and I had to keep hoiking here up so she could see. Problem is the people she wants to borrow the tent off are neighbours with all the gear and quite into it. Too much responsibility taking care of their expensive kit. Much rather get a sub £100 one of ebay that I can stick back on if I hate it or leave it abandoned in the field if flooded out. I know what your saying about a cottage but if you can get some lovely weather and your kids around an open fire, marshmallows, ghost stories etc.....it takes some beating and is just one of lifes experiences that has to be done.
