  1. Bad day at the office but talk of relegation is stupid. This teams still got balls
  2. It is isnt it. It makes you wonder how you expect the club to fund the ambition that you are crying out for. Liverpool are doing alright aren't they ? Liverpool were fucked until the recent purchase by new owners??????

  4. Pardew, I hope this means that you've being reading Toontastic, my posts in particular and you are now going to play the only team that san save our season. Harper Simpson Williamson Colochini Enrique Jonas Tiote Barton Ferguson Nolan Best Im guessing you'll bottle it and simply continue with Guthrie in the middle and stick Nolan up front. Hope Im wrong though. You are a one CT! Sky-"So Rapey, what prompted the change in formation today? Was it due to your woeful lack of firepower?" Rapey-" No mate, I've been taking advice from a cabbie. We'll be building a new squad around Lua Lua and Ferguson come summer" On topic, I'm prepared for an absolute shafting today. Anything less will feel like a bonus If only you knew how true that statement is.
  5. Did what as aggressive? Make Profit! Most business's couldnt give two fucks about their competition. Sports Direct employees are about to earn a canny little lump through the companys profit share scheme = to a years salary.
  6. Not an Ashley defence but...... Last I remember seeing was that his "worth" was £850 million. The majority of this is made up by shares in sports direct that account for £700 million. That leaves £150 million of which Im sure a good chunk is tied up in other shares etc. Understandable then why he cant keep on subsidising the losses at Newcastle and why he cant compete with Arabs and Ambramovich. Could be Im wrong, but thats my understanding.
  7. Difference is Ashley made his money buying low and selling higher and is trying the same approach with Newcastle United. Other mobs are still making metric fuck-tons of cash out of natural resources and the like where they can't go wrong. Their clubs are their playthings for bragging rights amongst the mega-rich. Ashley's relatively small time, but still wants to do things his own way. He'll end up stepping on too many toes and noone will be interested in dealing with him on a club level and no players will want to come here because we won't compete on wages, there's no real ambition and St James' is a 50,000 seater shop window. As everyone in retail has done since the beginning of time.

  9. Simple guide to how the new system works Q What is financial fair-play? A The broad principle is that clubs should not spend more than they earn, although there is scope for subjectivity if the “trend” of the losses is moving in the right direction. Uefa will still allow owners to spend on long-term projects such as the academy or the club’s infrastructure. Q When does it begin? A The first season that a club could be prevented from playing in European competition is 2014-15, but the first assessment period this summer. Q Who could this affect? A Any club who is regularly making losses of more than 5 million euros over a three year period. Uefa will also particularly monitor clubs with huge debts, such as Manchester United. Q Will clubs try and get around it? A Uefa have acknowledged the danger of clubs trying to exploit loopholes and will pay particular attention to the legitimacy of sponsorship deals, which could be an avenue for owners to funnel money back into the club. Q What happens if clubs breaks rules? A The possible punishments range from warnings to an outright ban from Uefa competition. Other sanctions could include a ban on registering specific players in European competition. Q Who will benefit in the long run? A The clubs who generate the highest revenues but do not spend more than they earn. Manchester United restricted by the interest repayments, so Arsenal look best placed to thrive. Uefa Financial Fair-Play principle - clubs should not spend more than they earn: Premier League clubs in profit: Arsenal (09-10) £56m Blackburn Rovers (08-9) £3.6m Stoke City (08-9) £0.5m West Brom (08-9) £7.7m Premier League clubs who made a loss: Aston Villa (08-9) £46.2m Birmingham City (08-9) £20.5m Blackpool (08-9) £1.1m Bolton Wanderers (08-9) £13.2 m Chelsea (08-9) £44.4m Everton (08-9) £6.9m Fulham (08-9) £6.9m Liverpool (08-9) £16.4m Manchester City (09-10) £121.3m Manchester United (09-10) £79.6m Newcastle United (08-9) £18.2m Sunderland (08-9) £3m Tottenham Hotspur (09-10) £6.6m West Ham United (08-9) £16.2m Wigan Athletic (08-9) £5.8m Wolves (08-9) £6.5m
  10. Havent we been continually losing money, hence the much publicised extra money Ashley kept pumping in. I would have though last seasons profit loss was again negative. Survival this season you would have thought will see us turn the corner into profit, especially if the wage bill remains low. I think Pardews interview this morning makes it pretty clear that our immediate future is all about survival and very modest player investment. Our chances of success will likely depend more on the success of Graham Carr than anyone else at the club.
  11. I was in! We know Joe who was on the acoustic in the corner and we were by the toilets. Small world. Well ya bugger!!!! He was very good. There was a drunk? With a bomber jacket singing along and then another table of four just beside the stairs where another dark haired lad kept singing along. We were in the room to Joes right. Nice pub like.
  12. Pardew hopes Newcastle will not sell out in future An honest if disturbing short term outlook.

  14. needs a new name, a totally new start, a fresh and utterly open plan with no agenda or ego clouding the issue - it needs also to have direct and open contact with the club imho - it has to be by supporters, for the supporters with an olive branch to the club - there is a link that is missing from the club to fans - they just don;t get it sometimes but there are people within the club who do know this and would help i am sure - there are also those who would have their agenda that need to be involved and kept in the loop who would encourage and support and getting them all around the same table would be difficult but not impossible as NUSC very nearly did for a time NUST is now irrelevant to the rank and file but a solid supporters movement would not be Agree with all of that post I would just caution about taking the club side slowly. By all means make contact, introduce the club etc but lets concentrate on establishing the fan side first. I am sure you are right and their are personell where inroads to the club can be made but I think it wants to be down the road before they try starting to get meetings with Llambias. With regard to the name imo it just wants to be something simple like Black & White or Toon Army or Toontastic or NE1 or The Toon etc etc??
  15. Went to the Mill House / Birtley tonight and the food was ab fab. King Prawns were served with a very tasty lemon and lime rice and salad on the side. Also went for the surf and turf which was delicious. Couldnt manage a pud. Four of us ate there and all meals went down well. Very Impressed 9/10
  16. Bad move imo. Fresh start fresh name or confusion will reign.
  17. Just off out for a nice bite to eat and a few bottles of wine. As usual, apologies for any drunken posts later on.
