FFS Owen, that has to be a goal

do you reckon? hes given it away a hell of a lot of times and been beaten by their right winger when he has Better than Zoggy for sure. thats why we need a left back Of course we do. But right now I think José is our best LB.

Yes, it's only Coventry, but Enrique's shown today that he should be a starter at LB

NUFC bid 50 million Swedish Kronor for Sebastian Larsson!
hostile_statue replied to bassplayerjj's topic in Newcastle Forum
Sebastian Larsson could be a useful addition to our squad. Last season he was one of the best free kick takers in the PL and he's a hard-working player who's good on the ball. Hopefully he'll get to play tonight, he fights for the place at Sweden's right midfield with Deportivo La Coruna's Christian Wilhelmsson. -
I guess the main reason why I asked this question is the official site always claimed his height is 6'00. And then I imagined someone stormed into the locker room with a folding rule and measured everyone on the spot. But I guess Big Al stood on his tiptoes when this happened...
-
180 seems about right. And yes, it's impressive how he was totally dominant in the air, not being very tall.
-
Most sources claim 6'00 (that says fuck all to me, but it's around 183 cm I'm told). But if you look at this classic "Keane vs Shearer" video clip it looks like the Irish twat is about Shearer's height. And Keane is rather short, without a shadow of a doubt. 5'10 according to most sources.

I wasn't happy when he came and I'm not happy now.

Ha ha ha, Sunderland has signed Rade Prica

Because he signed for Sunderland? That, and I'm Swedish too... -
The most amusing thing I've heard in a long time Believe me, he's crap.
-
He's kind of crap, really. Especially as a midfielder, it's a joke. He's terrible with the ball, he's stupid (bad positioning and tackles everything he sees), can't pass...as a striker he's OK but he's not a goalscorer by any means and compared to the other attackers we've got he's nothing special at all. His role in the team should be backup to Viduka, really. And as for him being appointed captain, well that's just comical. The captain should be one of the key players of the squad, or at least a good one...
-
Agreed. Bring out the gimp! Gimp/Our top scorer this season... And Owen, what a natural captain...such a commander
-
Who's captain now then?
-
Butt and Taylor injured
-
Am I the only one who's not to happy about this? Selling Parker and bringing in Barton/Reo-Coker is NOT gonna strengthen our team.

YES! Yep, that's our man. But it will never happen as long as FF is pulling the strings.

How long can we keep giving players away for free though? If there's one thing crippling this club at the moment, it's paying stupid money for players who we then lose for nothing. Nail and head The was aimed at that fact, Bramble is a capable Premiership defender who imho could be very good with the right management, something we are clearly lacking. This clubs transfer record is dismal in this respect. Titus has been at NUFC for 5 years now. He's not improved one bit. He puts in the odd good performance, but in most matches he makes mistakes that are just horrible, mistakes that create goal-scoring opportunities for the opposition. You can't afford having centre-backs like him in the Premiership. In my book, the important thing for centre-backs (and keepers, for that matter) is consistency and reliability. Titus is big and strong and good in the air and thus has "talent" but he obviously lacks the concentration and the ability to make the right decisions (he also seems to lack a brain). I'd much rather have a mediocre centre-back (who's never been described as "talented") who just keeps it simple, just like I prefer Steve Harper over Fabien Barthez or David James. The only reason not to let Titus go would be that we need a bigger squad, but with the injuries we always have, he would end up playing 20 or so games even if he would be our 3rd our 4th choice. And that would cost us, as it has in the last 5 years.
