I am starting to hate transfer deadline day.
-
We're looking a loan at best now I recon. Can't see us signing anyone now.
-
We got £35Mil for Carroll - we need a good striker and he seems to fit the bill - just get him signed !!!
-
lee_ryder Lee Ryder Talk of Maribor striker Robert Berič #nufc Never heard of the lad - but at the min I'd take anything.
-
lee_ryder Lee Ryder #nufc Hearing NUFC bid for Papiss Demba Cisse was more than £10million, Freiburg wanted closer to over £15million Then pay the £15Mill !!! It beggars belief that we've yet to get a striker.

Love the Balotelli rumour doing the rounds (loan) Balotelli and Cisse would do just nicely thank you Mike... as if..
-
The Mail say a deal is close. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...emba-Cisse.html Not that 'Sportsmail Reporter' knows anything, but apparently Sochaux might have bought that replacement they need for Maiga, so I imagine if that's the case then we'll be back in for him. Would be delighted with Cisse though and amazed if we spent an 8 figure sum on any player. We'll see. Papiss Demba Cisse looks a decent striker.

Davide Santon signs a 5 year deal with Newcastle United

Been watching as many clips as I can find of this lad and I have to admit he looks a decent LB. Seems very right footed though where as Maldini could use both but he likes to get up the pitch, is quick and strong. He also like to cut in from the left which should give us something different. I'll admit to having seen almost nothing of this kid, but watching the clips of him when on the ball he'll always check inside towards his right foot. That's neither here nor there - my point is this - if the kid wants to play right back then that's where we should play him as he's no doubt infinitely more talented than Danny Simpson. There's no need to stick him in at left back just because we sold our left back, when that's probably not his preferred position. If he did a good job filling in at left back in a pinch elsewhere then great, but it's an indication that he'd probably do an even better job playing on the right. I'd rather give him a chance to excel where he wants than to be adequate in a position where he's filled in in the past. Danny Simpson can likely do just as poor a job on the left as he does on the right. When you don't actually make tackles it doesn't matter what your preferred foot is. Agreed - and from what I've watched -albeit on youtube he's far more effective as a RB. i.e. looks more comfortable on the ball and gets crosses in. -

The more I watch of Santon as a LB the more I am convinced he'd be even better at RB. Looks quick, strong and tall. -
Eerily quiet on the striker front for Newcastle...

You may mock but he has more impact on the field than Simpson. If that's the case why wouldn't you play R.Taylor at RB as Santon can play LB?? Cause Santon is a natural RB, makes no sense to play both out of position. -

Have to admit I am a bit wary about him adapting to the Premiership. I struggle to think of many Italian defenders who have performed well. -
Typical Bruce signing.

I'd actually keep Raylor at LB and play Santon at RB. -

Inter Milan Forum they seem upset, which is a good sign True - but I remember the Depo fans being the same when we signed Xisco.
