  1. they might not have a choice I don't usually have a go at other clubs, even though i dont like some but it would be fucking hilarious if he left them I calculate it would take me about 7 years to stop laughing.
  2. Malouda deffo and how the fuck is Schev not on there?
  3. Agree and Arsenal have to be careful as there is a little gap there now as well.
  4. The point I was making about HBOS wasn't the figure that he actually lost (though if you want to discuss the ins and outs of spread betting then we can - and the figure was still over £100m) but the fact that he can throw that sort of money around to speculate, we are small fry compared to the rest of his business empire. The clubs income comes from 3 main areas: TV, matchday revenue and commercial income. All three of these will go down if he starts cutting costs on the field, it's as simple as that. A football club is not a business where you can streamline and then sell off for a profit, it just doesn't work like that. no your right , he doesnt mind taking a gamble with his money , altho i think that hbos spreadbet was more calculated than his exploits at the roulette wheel . i firmly expected the guy to come in and started parking tanks on the lawn , commercial ties with his other interests and all the fluff that comes with it . as it is tho , its very easy to cut the fat out of this club within a couple of year and sell for a profit , remove the debt and reduce the wage go's a long long way to that , the tv and commerical money wouldnt have suffered much in the time its takes todo that . he certainly didnt pay over the odds for this club , hidden debt or not . So why would a guy who casually gambles many millions hesitate to throw transfer money at KK (if that is the case)??
  5. There may be no truth in him wanting to buy Spurs. That's a separate issue for me anyway. It's just that I worry he might just have bought the club with a view to making a profit. He seems willing to ride roughshod over people when it comes to his other businesses so I can't see him giving a shit over pissing off Newcastle fans if he rakes in a load of cash in the process. I'm definitely going to wait and see what happens and I'm taking all the press stuff with a hefty pinch of salt but I just don't think his wearing a Toon top and getting the drinks in in Blu Bambu proves a thing about his intentions. The man made £29m in two months on his Adidas shares, he lost over £100m on his HBOS shares. Given the amount of profit he could hope to make on our club and the amount of time he has to spend on us I don't think profit is his motivation. I still reckon we're a billionaire's toy thing. That's sound logic tbf and I hope you're right. There isn't that much money to be made in football clubs apart from a rare few. If so inclined it is a great way to use some of your residual capital and have some good days out.
  6. They can't sack KK and they know it. It was poor making him travel down when there were easier alternatives. He's testing the reality behind how successful Ashley wants to be and he was encouraging a showdown of sorts (he wanted more communication imo). If they think they can control a man wth the charisma of kk they're seriously deluding themselves.
  7. Coppell has totally fucked up at Reading this year tbf.
  8. ...and to think we nearly had Mourinho.
  9. Parky's all over the shop today. Needs a few Ritalin to calm him down. All the cloak and dagger meetings, hearsay and innuendo with no solid information has his conspiracy theory node about to blow. No it is abunduntly clear Craig doesn't follow the sutble strands of my theme. The list aren't all failures at all. Half of them Reyes, Helb, Eduardo, Sagna have all done thier bit and Walcott is coming into his own now. I'm really only showimg that Wenger spends when he needs to but is as hit and miss as most other managers barring 2/3 exceptions a season....Your Toure, Van Persie and the right back cum winger I've forgotten the name of. KK has already in a dozen games got us playing football with little passages of posession not unlike Arsenal or Spurs at their best. The secret here for me is that now in the PL to compete for top 6 you need 2/3 standout players and 2/3 good ones as well. We currently have 4 very good players. Beye, Owen, Martins,Faye, with Enrique and Zoggy capable of becoming fixtures in most PL sides. I'd say with just the addition of 2 midfielders one central defender and a new striker we could give most sides a game. What are Everton if you take out their CD's and Arteta? What is Spurs without Keane and Berbatov? Also we witnessed how unsustainable good runs are if there isn't strenght in depth ie Man City and Portsmouth. If I was backing KK I'd put down £100m and tell him to go out and have fun. But I realise that isn't neccessarily what might be good for us right now.
  10. This is true, but they aren't exactly bargains either. Just cause Toure and Flamini were cheap people wander around thinking the whole team is built around some 'philosophy'...The differance for me is that Chelsea and Man Utd are competing with the top 2/3 sides in Serie A and Spain for the best players in the world, hence the fees. Wenger I grant you is a bit more circumspect and for instance Adebayor has saved his neck this season, but sooner or later my contention is that they are going to have to spend big on 2/3 players as imo they are falling behind. By today's money those transfer fees don't seem to be massive, but at the time, the fee's for Wiltord, Bronkhorst and Wright were massive. Aye. In todays market Bronckhorst, Reyes and Lauren would be 15-20m. The 10.5m for Henry would be a Torres type fee now. He does pick up 2/3 bargains a year but they also spend relatively high when they need a position filling. FWIW I've never rated Helb either.

  12. But liverpool were closer to Arsenal than Everton were to them. And in turn, Everton were further from Liverpool than Villa were from them. I think that confirms it to be a top 4. Followed by two distinct groups... Everton, Aston Villa, Blackburn, Portsmouth, Man City. West Ham, Spurs, Newcastle United, Middlesbrough, Wigan, Sunderland, Bolton, Fulham, Reading, Birmingham. It'll not be too difficult to jump from the last group into the middle, but near impossible for any team of either group to make it into the top. True.... I'd still stick the top 3 out on their own though - they were the only 3 who could realistically win the league. Liverpool are in a bit of a limbo state IMO. Not quite at the top but far enough away from the chasing pack. Unless Arsenal spend they are not getting back to where they were 5 years ago. Not necessarily. What if Man Utd are beset by injury problems? What if Chelsea sell players and don't replace them well? What if Wenger unearths more youthful talent for pittance? Historically they've not spent massive amounts and the only really successful expensive aquisition I can think of was Henry. I wouldn't under-estimate them at any cost. Off the top of my head Wiltord ? £12m ? Eduardo £8m ? Franny Jeffers £10m ? Lauren 7.2m Wiltord 13m edu 6m Bronkhorst 8.5 Reyes 12.5m Richard Wright 6m Helb 10m Walcott 9.2m Sagna 7.5m De Silva 8.5m Not as many bargains as people imagine.

Hark at Judith fucking Chalmers! Just showing off tbf. Do the city break in Hamburg or Berlin. I do fancy Berlin but it's a right fanny on now EasyJet no longer fly there from Newcastle. I could possibly fly there from Belfast though. Coolest city in Europe atm. FACT.

  16. Was it not? Easier to win once you were in it but it was much harder to get into it, obviously. It was better back then too imo. The re-package has basically been to ensure the top sides get further to the end of the tournament without hiccups. The group stage is a farce really with the way the seeding is done. And in other news, the sky is blue It is here.

  18. Table says different though, doesn't it?? Torres won't like this one bit - shows that Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal are away on their own and it definitely is a top 3 rather than a top 4. If you're going to include Liverpool in the bracket, then surely Everton are in with a shout and claim it is a top 5? Highlights how close we actually were to the other end of the table - Spurs as well for that matter. Reading are far too close to us. If KK had been here all season you could conservatively add 12 points to our tally.
  19. Villa tried to get him last summer.
  20. IMO there is very little differance from Everton to us.

It depends on the sophistication of the tests but yes 10 days is enough if you've done 6-10 lines on a night out. You trying to Fop with me?? A Fop is out of the question I'm afraid. A Fop in the hand is as good as two 2J's in the bush.
