2006 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award
Toonraider replied to Happy Face's topic in General Chat
I dont disagree with people having horses for pets and riding them for recreation and exercise purposes. I meant using horses for competitive sports is what i cant stomach. I live near Dartmoor, where you can see the horses and ponies running wild, yes, its probably a harsh life up on the moor during winter, but they are free. Its a stunning sight to see them an all. -

Yes thats true. BUT i fecking HATE any 'sport' that involves horses. I know im probably being totally unreasonable and totally unfair to the horse owners/trainers/jockeys.....but i think ALL horsey sports are cruel I have no real reason for this, except i just cant stand to watch it. -

Good point. I missed most of the program, was Andy amongst the nominees? Or did he even get a mention? -

Bird? Anyone tell me what happened? I was at work last night, so could only quickly put sky sports news on to get the final result But I knew emre would score, i even put him as first scorer in prediction league! What type of goal was it? A woodcock turned up, did a bit of flying about, and clearly knackered itself. It landed on the pitch a couple of times and tried to fly off but just sort of plopped back down looking wrecked. Martins ran over and picked it up and ran off to hand it to someone to take off the pitch. Apparently it was later released in Leazes Park and was fine. Ahhhhhhhh. Awww I'm so glad it was ok. Shame it wasnt Woodgate dropping in on us, but then i suppose he's inclined to plop down on the pitch looking crock!

Am I the only one who thinks that whole "wear a toon top while I scuttle ya" is just plain wrong on so many levels? yes, personally I wouldnt want to get it messed up, dirtied, sullied or itched....it means far too much! Mind you, hubby HATES football with as much passion as I love it, if i wore a Toon shirt or ANY football shirt to bed. he'd definitely turn over and go to sleep! Did I miss something? At which part did he blow his beans? He's a very quick operator! I probably wouldnt even get a kiss goodnight if i had a Toon shirt on in bed

Reversing this around, the thought of him wearing a football shirt in bed for me is hilariously funny.....so no, not the desired effect!

Ive just worked night shift and im really drained, maybe thats why i found this thread pretty heavy going. Have to say my emotions and views were swayed quite dramatically as i read each of your views. You all expressed yourselves so well, i feel quite divided as i can see both points of view clearly. I've seen a 10 yr old school mate run indoors after school one afternoon to look up and find her dad hanging at the top of the stairs...whatever his reasons, even with his tortured mind, surely he must have known who would be sure to find him first? Didnt he give that any thought? I suppose that shows how much pain and torment he was in not to let that thought stop him

yeah i know sweetcheeks (just being grumpy cos im tired and well....grumpy)!

why? Im not completely brainless, I'm pretty good on the PC. yet i have problems doing a poll. Maybe because no one has ever showed me, therefore after messing it up once or twice i gave up

I have used forums for a long while now, and still i cannot work out how to do a poll
