  1. Hit my first ever Royal Flush last night playing some cash game... in a three way all in too! http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/281511 So that's one holy grail in 14 months of being a poker player... will I ever see it again?
  2. Ok, well unstickied the games from last season... I guess whoever's running this year should be made mod in those forums.
  3. Goals and Martins chance. What a strike by Denilson!
  4. But even you'll agree that under the current circimstances, Martins should be starting the next 2-3 league games. Needs to get a decent run and get some confidence to be effective. To speak for Gemmill, I don't think the basic problem is having to play Martins because of the injury situation. The problem about Martins are really rather those people who big up every decent performance by him and making him a superstar when he is in fact very erratic. And that is unfortunately not dependent on the amount of games he gets. But I think overall because we are not a team who can keep the ball and tear teams apart with our passing. We need a player like Martins who can be explosive and create something out of nothing, which is why Zoggy is a cut above the rest. I certainly do agree that Martins has some basic footballing flaws, but because he can do the spectacular some are more inclined to overlook his flaws. Anyway to use a poker term, Gemmill, I think playing Martins is +EV. PS: In fact the analogy is perfect, I was thinking about is the other day. Shola for example is -EV, the equivalent of constantly going all in vs AA with 72. Sometimes you will crack the bullets.

  6. Oh well that's that. I guess I'd rather lose now than going all the way to pens and losing then
  7. Emre on for Shola. Smith up front then? Did Ameobi do anything of "interest"? (genuine question, not watching nor listening to the game )
  8. Aye from that SI site. Wouldnt know what style though, picked them up weeks ago, haven't go all teams either. PS: apparently we're playing in our 3rd kit tonight anyway

  10. Ah ok, yes then second to last then yeah (05-06), when he missed the Xmas period.
  11. People keep mentioning this German woman who operated on Shearer... was that during the 96/97 season?? And his layoff after the 5-0 game?
  12. Best long term decision for all concerned.
  13. How is Gray a tool exactly? Never understand criticism thrown at that man...
  14. Bit like what Sp. Lisbon and some other portuguese stadium have on the inside... WHat is with the Iberians and this interest in multicoloured weirdness!
  15. I don't think it is simply about the quality of referees but rather the refereeing culture in the different leagues. Stick the likes of Riley or Dean into La Liga for a certain amount of time and you'll probably see a new record in bookings and sendings off... Actually yes you're right, didn't word it the best way (because we sometimes see English or Brit refs struglle in international and european games). But that's what I meant about common sense being so prominent in England. The easiest comparison for me is with French football. Refs are simply terrible. Illogical and idiotic at times
  16. ^ That's a pretty ridiculous and very stupid generalisation. Refs in England are better than pretty much anywhere else in europe or the world. More often that not they let common sense rule.
  17. Got to be Viduka & Martins for the next league game simple as that. Meanwhile, I'd take the League Cup opportunity v Arsenal to play Smith up front a bit.
  18. Was going to say, at no point in his name is there an "h" Would be quite a turn of events if both Mourinho and Benitez lost their jobs in the space of a week!
  19. Was slightly two footed. Thought a yellow would have been enough though. However this is Mikel, nasty piece of work, so won't complain seeing him get a red.
  20. HOw the HECK was MIl;ner a negative? I thought he won a few challenges, helped out at the back, and always provided width and is so tricky for any full back to deal with because he's comfortable crossing with both feet as he showed a few times today. A negative in the context of the game I thought. Yes you're right, he did provide width, but his decision making in crossing was off today, and he didn't really create anything attack wise. I just think he was in a sort of comfort zone and we need to get back over to that right side. Anyway hardly in mood to be discussins anything negative after the win
  21. Hugely pleased with the result... some strong negatives do stand out though: - Milner - Owen, Martins has to start next (league) game, regardless of the "England man"'s condition. - Midfield in general. Thought Butt did okay, that's not the point, again you can't zero creativity from all 4 of them. But loads more positives it has to be said Viduka and Zog especially. Class acts today.
  22. Oh Zoggy we love you. 1 goal, 2 assists. Glen Roeder fuck off you fucking twat.
