actually, don't know if I necessarily agree... ut seems we could see a total kneejerk in the oposite direction. You should be able to question some decisions as long as you dont take it too far. Some kind of middle ground is needed. The only to battle with real attitude problems is retrospective bans, like they should be doing for diving... they do very well when it comes to violent conduct, it should be no different here.

Shearer I reckon. I just see them both as iconic early nineties legendary finishers... and I would obviously go for Shearer, but some of the goals Papin scored and the consistency he showed was quite unreal. ah... well you're getting your timelines mixed up there Papin was actually a Bayern player that year, and played in the final (in the first leg). That season (95-96) Bordeaux qualified through the intertoto cup and went all the way to the final. In the 1/4s they drew ACMilan... lost 2-0 at the San Siro, then ridiculously won 3-0 at home... 1st goal | 2nd goal | 3rd goal. Zidane, Dugarry and Lizarazu were all part of that team, and eventualy left the in the summer after that. Papin joined Bdx that same summer, and although he was obviously on the way out careerwise, there was still some quality there. He stayed for two seasons, that were mainly rebuilding ones after all the big names had gone. Left in 98.

So who was the better player then? Papin or Shearer?
