Lucky bastards... There is none of any quality in my work -
10 minute walk then 25 minutes on a train followed by another 5 minute walk.

I see what you are saying but I think its more probable that its just more PR spin and it was more of a combination of having actually having fuck all to spend (despite what the clubs says) and the fact he'll struggle to attract many players to the club.

Had to laugh at some of the texts getting sent into BBC Sport during the match on Saturday. Hope this wasn't sent in by you Jamesie "Snakehips" Cotter..

So you won't be joining the Glen Roeder Fan Club then?

As a player or coach? Coaching wise, I feel he is missing Tommy Craig more. Bit of both. It was bloody frustrating watching Shearer for the last 18 months, but at least he had passion. He was quicker than Sibierski too... -

Freddy Shepherd has warned England that Newcastle United will not rush Michael Owen back to help them out of their Euro crisis. England have only scored only one goal in their last five games and now there is every danger that they will not qualify for the finals of the European Championship in Switzerland and Austria in the summer of 2008. And with England's under-fire manager Steve McClaren having a public fall-out with Wayne Rooney after Saturday's disappointing goalless draw with Israel, Owen is now seen as the only hope in the eyes of some supporters. Certainly if Owen returns for United before the end of the season then he will be in the England team for the summer Euro qualifier against Estonia in Tallinn on June 6. But if Owen does not return with United before then it has to put a question mark against him playing for England in the summer. However, in an exclusive interview, United chairman Shepherd told me today: "I am an England fan and I want to watch them in the Euro finals in 2008. "But let's stop this clamour for Michael Owen returning to play for England before it gets up a full head of steam. "Michael Owen will return when it is in the best interests of the player and Newcastle United not England. "The player and Newcastle United come first, but he will not be rushed back just so that he can play for England in the summer. "And make no mistake about it, if Michael is not fit for Newcastle United this season he will not be fit for England." Shepherd is already at loggerheads with FIFA about the amount of compensation United should get after Owen injured his knee in the World Cup game with Sweden in June. As far as the United supporters are concerned, some I have spoken to want Owen back in a black-and- white shirt as soon as possible. Others tell me they would be prepared to wait until the start of next season. There was a report over the weekend that Owen has pencilled in his comeback for the game with Chelsea at St James' Park on April 22 and that would certainly add some spice to an already attractive game. But Glenn Roeder told me today: "There is no comeback date for Michael Owen at this moment in time. "However, I have to say Michael is now flying in training and we are delighted at the progress he is making."

Or McClaren. He got the job on the back of 3 flukey results in Europe he has never looked like emulating. That's the top and bottom of it. Clawing back deficits against sub-standard European sides using the subtle tactical approach of ZOMG 4-2-4 FOR DA LAST HALF HOUR!!!1111, and they gave him the England job. A cursory glance at the league table would have shown them that Boro finished 16th that season, and that they were doing the club a favour by taking him off their hands. I don't think Allardyce is England manager material, but he'd be getting a LOT more out of this lot than McClaren is, and without any PR gurus on the scene. Apparently McClaren is picking up £2.5m a year btw - wtf?! Big Sam getting the England job would be good for England and for Newcastle - I doubt Bolton would be in the Top 6 for much longer if he left. He really is doing fantastically well there. As much as people go on about their style of football, I still think he would be the ideal man for the job here. He knows the league, so would be less of a risk than bringing someone from outside the premiership, but would also change the whole coachings set up here from fitness and diets to a decent scouting system at the club. If all this talk of us having less money to spend is true too, I have more faith in him spending it well than Rodders..

My neck of the woods.. Fuck travelling to Edinburgh each day. Completely off topic. Did you get the Duck Bay thing sorted out Ritchie? No its still not opened yet from the flooding. Still have the Crowne Plaza : provisionaly booked though and had no pressure off them to commit yet so no worries just now. Ah good. Been meaning to ask To be honest with us having set the date so far away I have hardly given it a thought as of late. Knew I was meant to be saving for something though..

Just don't shave... Two of the biggest perks of my job. I can wear what I want and there is no pressure on me to shave.
