Who said he is? I believe some of the points are in regards to your comment which said We have replied offering you some constructive points regarding as to what Craig Bellamy the player could have brought to NUFC. Yet you continue to reply with little comments about rose-tinted glasses, people thinking he’s as great as Pele calling us "Bellamy Lovers" whilst telling us to get over it rather than tackle the points that have been raised.

Correct mate, this business about our defence as j69 said earlier, well the first art of defending is to be offensive and keep the ball yourself, by virtue of having outlets of your own. Invite pressure and your defence is struggling. Seems like he doesn't understand this. People like Craig Bellamy transform defence into attack in an instant. He needs 2 men to mark him so the opponents find it more difficult to put pressure on you when they attempt to. 136445 I tried to explain that very point to him last night. His constant pressure at one point was one of his greatest assets in my opinion, however with the improvement on his goal scoring he is an even more complete player now.

Leazes End near the bottom of the middle tier, next to the right hand corner. Was a great seat for seeing how much more Bellamy added to the team other than a few goals a season..

I would have thought you would be concentrating on getting the Brummies back in the premiership rather than on a black and white day.

What is the actual problem with having it in Eldon Square again?

Maybe you are used to going out for meals with a bunch of sweaty, dirty people but up here we tend to clean up before a good night out... And to think you call us Sweatys..

So now we are playing in some big fuck off field?? I know some on here did not fare to well when we had the thread regarding shower habits, but theres no way I am going for a game of football, heading straight to the game and out for a meal without a shower and a good wash...

Titus Bramble will be offered a new contract and a pivotal role in Glenn Roeder's new-look Newcastle United as the Magpies' boss rewards him for his role in the club's rousing late charge for Europe. Bramble's stunning second-half volley against Chelsea on the final day of the season proved to be enough for Newcastle to secure seventh place in the Premiership and qualification for the Intertoto Cup. But it has been the powerful centre-half's attitude in training and his much-improved defensive qualities which have impressed Roeder, who will urge United chairman Freddie Shepherd to open contract talks with the player's representatives after the World Cup. Roeder made no secret of his admiration for Bramble when he first took control of the club as caretaker manager following the sacking of Graeme Souness in February and has even recommended the 24-year-old to England coach Sven-G?ran Eriksson. And the former Ipswich Town prospect, a £5m signing by Sir Bobby Robson in the summer of 2002, has responded magnificently with a string of eye-catching displays alongside Australian international Craig Moore in the centre of United's back line. The pair, who helped keep three successive clean sheets during their side's successful run-in, have forced Jean-Alain Boumsong - who will be allowed to leave this summer - and youngster Peter Ramage out of the side, while England Under-21 international Steven Taylor was also forced to wait for his return after a lengthy absence with a shoulder injury. Bramble, has spoken at great length in private at the impact Roeder has had on him and believes the fact that Roeder, a former Newcastle defender, played in his position is having positive impact on his development. The Bramble-Moore partnership has looked one of the best seen in Newcastle's often-criticised defence in recent years and, with the return of Taylor, Newcastle may finally have a trio capable of putting them back among the Champions League chasers. Nevertheless, Roeder, whose Press conference to unveil him as Newcastle manager has been put back to tomorrow, will still look to strengthen in that department. The money from the sale of Boumsong - named yesterday in France's 23-man squad for the World Cup - will be used to bring in another centre-half, while a new left-back is also needed to put pressure on the sometimes lethargic Celestine Babayaro. The main priority, though, will be the search for two centre-forwards and to ensure Michael Owen remains at the club. Roeder's transfer kitty, which will also be discussed with Shepherd after tomorrow's Press conference, could be further boosted by the anticipated sale of James Milner to Aston Villa. Milner has been on loan at the Birmingham club this season and, with David O'Leary whispering in his ear, appears to favour a permanent move to the Midlands rather than a return to St James's Park. Roeder, though, may still veto the deal. Milner, who is still just 20, is young and versatile and precisely the sort of player he likes to work with. His problem, though, is Newcastle's failure to offer him guaranteed first team football, something he has had at Villa Park all season. O'Leary has also insisted that he wants to build the team around the England Under-21 international who was one of Robson's last signings - £3.5m from Leeds United - before his acrimonious departure from St James's Park two years ago.

This is bellamy we are talking about? take of your rose tinted spectacles my friend and remember that although he was a fast runner he couldnt hit a barn door 9 times out of 10! I dont care how fast he can run, he wouldnt have made our defending any better this season, the two are mutually exclusive. Every free kick and corner in our half and he was stood on the half way line waiting for the ball! 136081 Read the post you are spouting out stuff about hitting barn doors and I never even mentioned the scoring of goals in any of my points. Jesus fucking wept... 136082 no you are talking about 'if we still had bellamy wed have defended better' jesus fucking wepter tbh 136085 Aye, I believe most people who went to the matches and watched the team for a full 90 minutes would see that by chasing down defenders and defending from the front created a far better defensive unit throughout the whole team than that of when strikers held off and invited teams onto us, eventually leaving Speed running around like a blue arsed fly trying to help the defence. This was a strength of Bellamy that helped the overall team and at one point was one of his biggest contributions, as for me until his last 6 months at Newcastle, his time at Celtic and this season he wasn't for a great "finisher" at all. You speak of rose tinted glasses like I am someone who has been a Bellamy supporter but you will fail to find any posts through Bellamygate where I was. I was merely responding to your point by bringing up one of Bellamys better strengths in my opinion, one which I believe was clearly evident to see at St James park over 90 mins.

He would have added that extra pace we lacked up front all season. He would have ran into positions that Ameobi and Shearer can't, thus bringing the best out of the likes of Solano and Emre who would then have the option to play a more passing game on the deck and show use their passing ability with through balls created from the runs of Bellamy. He wouldn't have caused the team to defend from the front. Thus helping the defence, some may disagree but anyone who was at St James Park through the years Bellamy was playing up top could not argue that we defended better as a team when he was playing. Bellamys constant closing down of centre halfs and the opposition gave a greater urgency throughout the whole team. Whilst Shearer and Ameobi stand off and invite teams onto us, Bellamy would chase everything which resulted in our midfield following suit and pushing on, creating a greater urgency and all round better play. By not selling him we also would not have had to splash the cash on the likes of Luque that would have meant an extra 4 or 5 million that could have been spent in strengthening us at the back. No one knows what trouble he may or may not have caused but I am certain he would have added a hell of alot more than a few goals....

New Newcastle boss Glenn Roeder must offload the Magpies' misfits before launching a major reshuffle of his squad. Roeder has been promised money to sign a replacement for Alan Shearer undefined with Chelsea's Eidur Gudjohnsen top of his hit-list. But with Newcastle set to record major losses in the current financial year, Roeder will have to oversee a successful summer clear-out before he can make other major signings. United's situation is clear from the fact that they are prepared to sell James Milner to Aston Villa this week for £3 million. But Jean-Alain Boumsong, Nicky Butt and Albert Luque also need to be moved on before Roeder - who is also eyeing Arsenal defender Sol Campbell - can make wholesale changes. Meanwhile, confirmation of Roeder's permanent appointment has been put back by 24 hours to Tuesday.

got a season ticket there like? How the fuck do you know hes been excellent for bayern, apart from watching their goals in golazo every thursday night 135849 I've seen their games on Setanta you twonk. 135857 Is the Setanta coverage of the French, German and Italian football anygood Sima? I think my old boys going to be buying it this year, I pay 42 for my Sky and month and then the Prem Plus season ticket on top so there was no way I was going to pay the £140 or whatever it is for it, but if my dads getting it, I'm sure I`ll watch it now and again.

Tottenham have been told that a stomach virus caused the sickness in their squad ahead of the West Ham game on Sunday. Sky Sports News say that scientific tests have shown that there was nothing wrong with the food eaten by the Spurs players at the Marriott Hotel in Canary Wharf - it was just a stomach bug. The club had been threatening to sue the East London hotel after several players - including Michael Carrick - were struck down with sickness that left them vomiting until the kick-off of the game at Upton Park. Hotel manager Paul Downing said: “The first test result back has showed it was some kind of neural virus, but we are awaiting further results, which are due back later today." Spurs lost the game 2-1 and were ousted from fourth spot by Arsenal, leaving the chairman Daniel Levy requesting that their game against the Hammers was replayed. The Premier League understandably rejected their cheeky request and Levy reacted to the appeal decision with dismay, saying he despaired at the state of the rules which did not take into account such matters as food poisoning. He said: "We are disappointed, but not surprised. We continue to feel justifiably aggrieved at the course of events and remain convinced that the game should never have been played. "If the loss of over half a selected squad to an inexplicable illness in highly suspect circumstances does not warrant the postponement of a match, then I can only despair at the state of our governing rules." But now it seems that those 'highly suspect circumstances' were not so highly suspect after all.
