To be fair, it was damn well unlikely that Barry would have considered signing for us. Hyppia on the other hand would have been decent if he was interested, still playing week in week out for Leverkuson.
Possibly but it refers to Keegan's personal relationship with the player - it may not have worked but the critics forget that the man was a master at persuading players to sign for us and then getting the best out of them.
That's what they overlook when they suggested replacements/alternatives like Zola, Bilic or a random one season spanish wonder.

The bit above also shows something else we know - Kinnear was an incompetent fuckwit.

Derby County 4-1 Newcastle United 1992.
I wouldn't put this down as a 'favourite' game, but I've never felt as proud to be a Geordie than I did at the Baseball ground that day. Thousands of Mags gave unstinting support after three of our players were sent off as well as Terry Mac getting sent to the stands by a referee called Coddington who wanted to make a name for himself. Facing div 3 squarely in the face the support was as defiant as I can remember and it got through to the likes of David Kelly about the injustice of it all. At 2-0 down and two men down Derby couldn't get the ball off us the backing was intense and we pulled a goal back to mental celebrations, we then went a further player down and the numbers told and the score ended 4-1. Some seats were threw, songs were sung the likes of Kelly threw their shirts into the support after the game, Sutton their keeper came over to our fans after the game and stood applauding. I've never felt as one with our players and my fellow Mags as I did that day.
By a quirk of fate, we had to go back down to the Baseball almost straight away in our promotion year and beat a decent side 2-1 with Clarkie getting one of them in a great game which was the start of the belief that we were a good side. Happy days.
If Hova is reading, KK played a small part of these happy days.
Completely agree.
I remember Liam O's sending off was for saying something to the ref going back to our half when they had scored the 4th. I like to think he said "Happy now cunt?"

I think the press will take the huff that they were misled by the club's lies - something anyone with half a brain realised anyway.
-
What I find a little odd is why the cockney mafia didn't just say to KK, we want to sign Gonzales in order to curry favour with some very useful South American agents. It'll cost us £1million quid and he's only around for a season. It could potentially be very beneficial for the club.
That actually seems like a reletively sensible thing to do.
That's another angle they'll try and use - the deal "made sense".
What they won't say is that they'd failed in a more important task - improving the squad over the summer. Clubls like Man U can afford to sign a token Asian (though Park is a good player) for commercial/favour reasons - we couldn't and can't.
-
Removing the sexual urge would surely stymie the need to act on those predilections?
I'm not an expert on this but I think the old "the brain is the biggest sexual organ" thing is actually true. I know hormones do play a part but impotent men still want to have sex for example - I don't think castration, chemical or otherwise necessarily stops desire.
-
Devils advocate time; what if it is a malfunction of the brain, that they have no control over the perversion? Is it fair to call for their death if it's out of their control?
Personally I think castration should be mandatory for anyone proven to be a paedophile, for their benefit as much as securing the safety of everybody else.
That's what I said earlier
If it is purely brain chemistry then removing hormones won't make a difference as far as I understand.

Theres some fucker in the Chron comments highlighting that the £25m was true - I'd imagine thatbeing the thing idiots will cling on to - Taylor in the Guardian mentions it as well.
My reading was that he went in withthe extra £16m but accepted during the hearing it wasn't fair.

The club's reply....NUFC Statement
THE Premier League Tribunal Panel considering the matter between Newcastle United and Kevin Keegan has today returned its decision.
The Club will be making no comment on this matter.
"It's a fair cop, Guv"

The fucking morons running this club man. It's as funny as it is tragic. That's basically them (unwittingly) saying they were undermining KK in private whilst lying in public so as not to appear to be undermining him.
The worry is that the ruling is so unbelievebly scathing they might take the huff and challenge it.
-
Just finished reading the verdict - all I can say is that it proves EVERYTHING we have said about the scum running the club.
Overall it's the best of both worlds - Keegan vindicated and the scum exposed but with a damage limiting amount of compen.
Take that you fat cockney cunt.

I remember the pederast's on that Louis Theroux show were hopeful of release, but I think he did say that less than 1% actually get anywhere with it.
I think even in this country the outrage at "Paedo only gets 5 years" is wasted as that's consideration for parole which in reality never happens for the really dangerous ones.
-
It's not television, but one of the worst commentators ever was metro radios charles harrison. He had a plummy accent, never got that exited when we scored and for the listener at home, desperately trying to work out what was happening at our game he was the original terry fuckwit. He was literally senseless.
He always got more animated when he was covering Sunderland.
A Mackem for me - "Oh my God, Cascarino has scored again" as uttered by him on Metro remains one of my favourite things ever.
-
I've been saying for years that the fuckers whould have been relegated for making no serious attempt to upgrade/build a decent ground (see also Fulham) so I hope they go tits up.
(Even their current ground plans are all EU money based)

I think there a few mental illnesses which in the past have been "write-offs" as far as people are concerned which are now perfectly curable. Obviously if this was the case here it would still have a huge mountain to cross with the safety of kids in mind which is fair enough but I would still say it was worth the effort (to find the cure I mean).
Something gets me about just locking people up/cutting their nads off (a very human reaction) if indeed it was something they couldn't help. I know this sounds is if I'm diminishing the crime which I'm honestly not.
On the subject of evil I find people like that property developer who ordered a bloke tortured to death because he was blocking a deal to be more "evil" in my view.
-
I still hold the unpopular view that paedophilia is so fucked up that there must be something genuinely wrong with them that they possibly can't help.
That doesn't mean I don't feel a bit of vengeance, or of course that I don't feel sorry for the kids/parents, but if it does eventually turn out to be some kind of mental or indeed physical illness, I think I would somehow feel better about the human race knowing that though we can produce monsters, this particular kind of monster is an anomaly.
Then again if we as a species are capable of producing such fuckups, maybe we overestimate ourselves.

I find Waddler's use of "pelanty" to be strangely nostalgic as I think that's what we used to call them when I was a (very young) kid
However I can't forgive his posh affectations that do make him sound like a twat - eg the way he says "close" as in close him down etc.
-
I think Martin Tyler is becoming old and sterile now.
He's too far up the big fours arse (same as the rest of them)
I also hate him for a comment he made in the Chelsea Man Utd game after Lampards Mam died when he said "Chelsea - united - against THE united" - cunt.

Brian Moore is hopefully in hell for his commentary on the leagu cup quarter final against Arsenal in 95.
Was that the game where Lee Dixon kicked the shit out of Ginola and Gerald fucking Ashby (hopefully stoking the fires with Moore) gave Ginola no protection at all?
IIRC the minute Ginola decided enough was enough and retaliated, he was sent off.
Yeah - I was at the game but made the mistake of watching a tape of it - I couldn't believe the commentary. The so called ref was Gerald Ashby and he is also dead - call me a bastard but my reaction to the that particular news was "good".

Brian Moore is hopefully in hell for his commentary on the leagu cup quarter final against Arsenal in 95.
I quite like Ian Darke - a shame he stopped doing football on sky for a while.
I fucking hate Motson as well.

2-1 at Anfield and 3-1 at Woodison mate.
That 0-2 at Villa was one of my favourite away days ever, fuckin hell I was only 16 seems like yesterday, I remember hundreds of toon fans being in the Holte End and the busies got them out and moved them somewhere else, and the whole ground reverberated to geordies here, geordies there, geordies every fuckin where nanananananannaaaaaaaaa. One thing I do remember was Mike Hooper making his debut, and this bloke behind me twice the size of Keith Beefy Roberts applauding Hooper as he came over at the start of the game, and he shouted "nowts ganna beat this big fat fucka!" the irony.
Aye - was trying to type while running the memories though my head - must be getting old.
I was also warned by a steward at Everton for racist language (oh the irony) for calling one of their players a scouse cunt - we sored a couple of minutes later and a few of us all piled into him - happy days.
-
1983 - Pompey (H) 4-2
One of the early classics of that year and a masterful performace from Waddler
1988 - Liverpool (A) 1-0
My second favourite moment in football ever - the site of Mirandinha causing a surge in the Kop that would have drowned several Pacific Islands.
(Personal note - lack of transport back to station meant dodgy tour of surrounding pubs looking for taxis - quite scary)
1994 Villa (A) 2-0 -
Villa were supposed to be good but we completely outclassed them - Malcolm Allens best game for us
(Personal note - had a piss next to Andy Cole's Dad)
1995 Everton(A) 2-0
Fucking brilliant - outclassed the Scouse Mackems and made up for all the pissers we had there when they were good.
(Personal note - this was the day Sky first showed Who shot Mr Burns and my video failed to tape it - what a pisser)
1998 Belgrade (0-1)
Probably my most enjoyable European trip so far - there was an edge to the place which made the 4 days very exciting (not for the faint-hearted).
2002 Juventus (0-2)
Another fantastic trip
A coouple of pissers in more recent years but the ones above make a good set.

Did anyone see you?
4-0 to Newcastle is my prediction tonight.
Luckily I didn't hit anyone on the way down but I did have a couple of concerned old ladies asking if I was alright
You don't often meet fans of "minor" London teams in London but one of the lads in our sister department is a QPR fan - he reckons they'll lose and I tend to agree.

We seem to be playing after everyone else on a weekly basis at the moment. Why did we not play last night for instance?
We asked for home games mid week to be on a Wednesday.
Hmmm, why was that ?
As far as I know we always have done - not sure if theres a logical reason.
I remember a few years ago when the Mackems switched to a Tuesday as their preference - at that time (and probably now) all the "big" teams played on a Wednesday and I remember a bit of piss taking on that note.

Was just thinking this morning that the number of "humans" whose death I'd genuinely be happy about has doubled - adding Wise to Thatcher.
I thinking punching him repeatedly, starting when he was asleep would be a good start.
