  1. Did it need a list ? surely lateness is being late for any event or occasion where there is a set time for arrival ?

I'd imagine the thick bastards would say "but you didn't say being late at the airport counted so I didn't realise".

It's a good example of prefessional standards which should be unwritten - the need for a list shows what a bunch of complete pricks the players are.

  2. My boss is Irish which means by a coin toss he "supports" Liverpool (although in the last couple of years he has dragged himself to a couple of games). About 6 years ago he joined their fan club as they sometimes put tickets up for sale.

For at least the last 3 seasons including this one they have sent him begging emails for midweek games offering tickets because the cunts simply cannot fill their ground without the glory hunting tourists from Ireland, Scandanavia and the south of England that pollute the place on a Saturday.

I've been saying for a while now that I hated Man Utd as much as Liverpool but I think that was a consequences of our rivalry with Man U in the 90s. Yesterday I realised now that things are back to normal I despise the drug dealing professional victims to a degree some distance beyond the Man Cunts. When the divine righters end up with yet another trophy-less season this year I will be quite happy.

  3. Started brightly - frustrating as fuck because it showed that some of them can actually play. Typical offside Anfield goal followed by a second which made me think 6 or 7 so switched it off.

Switched back on just in time to see Barton's sending- off (and amazed it wast still 2) - thought it was harsh at first glance but replay proved stupidity - shame as he'd looked like making a difference. Also a shame that injuring one of their best players isn't going to affect their season.

Third one was offside but shit at the same time. I also decided I want to murder Craig Burley.

  4. The coppers were pretty confident given the crowd - maybe Coachella is a tame festival but a similar incident at Reading or Leeds would have seen serious trouble imo.

Another thing I'd say is it makes you wonder whether the police force is America is a haven for fat bastards or its an affect of being a copper that that's how you end up.

  5. I'm curious. How did your bosses play those events to the staff?

Usual stuff about a sound business model, fucked on a one off basis - something I took with a pinch of salt.

Lehmans was a pisser as if they had held on until the US started bailing banks out, it would have been okay.

The US securities did fuck the bank as a whole.

  6. Wasn't Gonzales supposed to play? Looks like he disappeared again.

An article in the Ronny suggested it was a late withdrawl - if he's touch and go for reserve games, theres no chance of him playing for the first team.

  7. The thing is, if this does fizzle out, or the UK's precautions work, people will blame the non-event on media hype. On the other hand, if it proves to be serious or even catastrophic, people will blame the government for being unprepared. Either way the medical profession can't win.

Personally, I'd take notice of what the WHO and HPA are saying and not the Daily Mail, that's my advice.

There was a good article by Ben Goldacre in The Guardian yesterday saying that the danger in the media hysteria was that poeople would think it was overhyped - there is a genuine risk which should be discussed.

  8. Didn't I read that the Spanish Flu just after WWI affected "fit" people more and left the old and weak relatively unscathed?

It sounded strange to me but I may be wrong.

  9. Making illegal payments to players 1929

Vieira, Ashley Cole, Pires, Henry premiership divers.

Illegal payments which should have seen you relegated but the FA bottled it - about 95?

Crooks, Hoddle, Archibald, Sheringham, Keane - cheats to a man.

we got a points deduction, Arse got awa y scott free.

    As for that list? joke

A points reduction which was dropped on appeal - when Swindon had been relegated two divisions for less.

One of the reasons people dislike Spurs (I know it's hard to believe) is that along side the image of good football which is fair enough you have always had theatrical players - that list represents the worst culprits off the top of my head but there are more.

Arsenal have had a few cheats under Wenger as a reflection of the modern game but Spurs have been mainline culprits for as long as I can remember which goes back to the 70s.

  11. I have no sympathy - they sign up I presume based on a contract - I'd further presume that this contract doesn't mention a right of settlement. I'd also guess they sign up as an opportunity to earn a living and for status in their own country - both of which are received.

The notion of "fighting for Britain" is one I don't subscribe to - I think people in this country also sign up mainly for careerist/job related reasons though I accept many will believe this "servitude" concept.

  12. Renton :

What I meant is that poverty, over-population and Catholic/Muslim encouragement of breeding without consequence are all linked. Of course I'd loce to see a panacea that allows 10bn or more humans to inhabit the earth in peace at a reasonable standard of living but it isn't easy due to capitalism, politics and religion.

My comments on the pandemic were meant as a suggestion that it could be one possible "hand forcing" action to address over-population - its a natural/simplistic event which would over-ride "impossible" obstructions.

My Mam was very much of the view that all life was "sacred" and as long as people were loved then the suffering was a bearable consequence - I think that the suffering caused by poverty etc is too high a price and I would rather have fewer people who are "happier".

I fully accept that "promoting" a pandemic beyond anything else in history could be a coward's way out of suggesting genocide which I could never sanction but I still feel that without a miracle food or poverty relieving invention the human race is doomed if it comtinues at present groeth rates.

This also ignores cliamte change of course.

  13. Of course the downside can be the unintended consequences, like reducing child death........

    :aye:

He's right in a way - in South America the poor keep having too many kids (with the blessing of the church of course) because of high child mortality and the need for providers. If you could do something about the basic poverty then you'd affect the over-population as well.

  14. Boca Juniors are your Newcastle, working class heroes, with Maradona their hero.

One of the reasons I like Maradona is that I saw a documentary on him about this side of him - very much a working class kid - he even upset a shit load of establishment wankers when he got married as his lass was some society/upper class bint that "should" have been beyond him.
