Is this still a thing?  Can anyone recommend a safe place to download from?

Getting fucked off with streamers. I've got 10k tracks on an old laptop. So I've paid the grand total of 39p for a month to upload them to Google's cloud service (it's £16 for a year for 100gb, which is £2 more than I pay monthly for spotify for me & TNSPMPL  😑) then I can download them to my phone.

I've started ripping some other old  CDS I've found in a box too but I've run into some trouble saving them into the music folder can anyone help with a suggestion for easy ripping software and a easy media player for my phone? Cheers!

Haven’t read the thread so sorry if this has already been said but can you not simply copy and paste them onto an external hardrive and then either use them from there or import them into your new pc/laptop?

This old laptop I have is basically the hardrive, found a box of old CDs from the 80s/90s am going to rip. As @RobinRobin said windows media player does it but it's dead slow. Am loading the software @Meenzer recommended now...it's asking me for money 🫤

Legal MP3 downloads? Tell me this place is 20 years old without telling me it’s 20 years old :lol:

Am ditching streaming services..or more accurately am ditching Spotify...Bandcamp is good for downloads, I don't mind paying. Not sure if the old mp3 sites are still around...?

@PaddockLad

Although I'm not as technologically accomplished as some on here I reckon if you press 'play' and 'record' at the same time whilst pressing 'pause' as and when you need to you should be sorted unless I've forgotten something?

Happy to help, Rob. :good:

Seriously man just get an external hard drive and plug it in and transfer the stuff. Keeps forever on the drive and can be transfered where ever

I've got 10k tunes already on the laptop so I don't need a separate hard drive and I can't burn the newly found CDs or upload them to Google Drive cloud service on a separate drive.. laptop is about 15 years old and has a CD drive :good:
