I was just going off this clue:

I once signed a player who's name sounded like something you put down the toilet for a record fee.

Ewerk's right it's Celtic.

The player a record signing at the time was Raphael SCHEIDT.

Ajax 95

Cheers, I could have looked it up though :(

It's the famed Ajax 95.

Never in the history of football was there a better team*

*According to some tool on 365

I know when it was man, I watched the game. It was a canny amazing side like, loads of player having come through the youth ranks - the DeBoers, Kluivert, Seedorf, Davids, Van Der Sar, Overmars.

I know you know.

I was just clarifying

Glad we cleared that up. :icon_lol:

It's depressing to think how young you were then actually :icon_lol:

John Anderson :icon_lol:

I was 8. Cant remember that final like but I was watching football from an early age at least.

Still remember having the England kit from Italia 90. That is literally my earliest memory of football. Fuck knows if i properly knew what it was. Doubt it. :icon_lol:

I have no recollection of Italia 90 whatsoever.

First team in the world to have a shirt sponsor?

England's shirt manufacturer at the 1982 World Cup?

As of 1995 which player had been transferred for the most money accumulatively in the world?

Is the first one Coventry?

Second one is Admiral (I had that away top).

Third one David Platt?

1. Liverpool with Hitachi?

2. Admiral (love that shirt!)

3. I'd guess at David Platt as he moved from Villa to Italy for silly money and then played for Bari, Juve & Sampdoria (all for silly money transfers) before Arsenal paid an equally daft amount to bring him back to England.

Actually Coventry is a good shout for the sponsor thing.... they encorporated the Talbot 'T' in their shirts didn't they?

Because I couldn't be arsed to argue about it. I will if you really want to though.
