If it helps, Torres, we've long since beat you to 3rd in the all-time Premier League attendance table and even the Mackems will pip you to 4th soon.

Hurts to be out-supported by a couple of two-bit north-eastern sides? Don't even talk to me about the Kop and YNWA and all that sad nonsense, go back to our game v. Barca in the CL and see what real support is like.

Liverpool in Benitez's era have been sad underacheivers, a one-trick pony if I ever saw one, and until he goes you guys will never recapture all of the glory that made you England's top club.

If that's the truth accross the pond it doesn't hurt at all to be honest. Well done.

I suppose you must be right about Rafa as well. Maybe we should have gone for Keegan.

At least you'd see a canny game now and then.

Keegan probably was approached at some point, pretty much everyone else has been. :D

Your turn to be honest Redshadow - how much longer do you really think Benitez will last? Regardless of whether you think he's a good manager (we could fight all day on that one) and just talking about the state of your club and his relationship with the fans/management, do you see him in charge next season?

Every decision went against us, moans baffled Benítez

Andy Hunter and Louise Taylor at Anfield

The Guardian, Wednesday April 23 2008 Article history

Rafael Benítez accused the referee Konrad Plautz of bias and poor timekeeping last night after John Arne Riise's stoppage-time own-goal cost Liverpool a precious lead in their Champions League semi-final first leg with Chelsea. The Liverpool manager criticised the award of four minutes' injury-time and a display from Plautz that, he claimed, had favoured Chelsea throughout.

he disgruntled Spaniard said: "It's difficult to understand. There were 94 or 95 minutes and every decision went against us. All the corners, free-kicks and fouls. But, in the end, it was an own-goal. It's not the first time. We knew before the game it was going to be difficult [with this referee]. Against Marseille it was more or less the same. You can't blame the referee for the own-goal at the end but the time? One minute in the first half, four in the second. It's difficult to explain."

Benítez also had cause to bemoan the referee for a push by Ashley Cole on the goalscorer Dirk Kuyt inside the Chelsea penalty area, an offence that went unpunished by Plautz. "The first four fouls against us were for pushing," he added. "I saw one of their players pushing with two hands in the penalty area and nothing given. I've seen too many things tonight but I don't want to say too much."

Words fail me tbh. :D

Really stupid post. Rafa is correct. It might sound bitter but he`s correct. Why were there 5 minutes of added time I`ll never know (brown envelope anyone!)...............but I suppose it was better than last time when they had 6!

We`ll take this at the bridge.

I will run around Newcastle naked shouting "ey la Liverpool are well boss", whilst wearing a sweat stained adidas Candy Liverpool top, if you get to the final. I know you're easily the luckiest club in the world, I just think given their record at SB even luck won't help you this time.

Does that make you "the unluckiest club in the world" then.......................................I know which I`d rather be!

We still have a good chance and probably will prevail as usual.

You haven't beaten Chelsea there since a very lucky Bruno Cheyrou goal, I think that's the last time you even scored there?

Then there`s an issue that needs addressing.

I might actually be going as my company have a box at SB, fingers crossed. I'll be supporting the club with the fans who consider themselves English. Well to be fair half the other clubs support is Norwegian or Irish.

How you could really support another club is strange. I will be supporting England`s most successful club and a TRUE European giant with worldwide support.....................so we`re on different sides.

So you'll be in Manchester then?

England`s most successful club is not in Manchester................but because you know so little about success I`ll give you another guess................

As for worldwide support, your support is fuckin shit, 33,000 in the league under Houllier where were your Norwegians then, and your Pakistani's? Not at fuckin Anfield that's for certain.

33,000 and still louder than your shabby lot. The only thing I`ve heard you do well is boooooooooooooooooo...................and that`s not surprising.

Liverpool 1 - 1 Portsmouth

Game Date :: 14.12.2004

Didn't mention average gates, but 33-34,000 for league games pathetic, notice against Pompey as well, note they had no bother getting 45,000 for their glory games against us and Man Utd. They all came flocking back after they won the CL though, funny that.

Came flocking back after the CL is a bit ott even for someone like you. So we had a low gate for a couple of games, the average for 2004 was still 42, 706 and we are still 2nd in the all time attendances league.

Only because we spent 24 years of our existence in the second tier, as a club you haven't averaged over 50,000 in your history.

The stadium doesn`t hold 50,000 so it`s mathematically impossible you tit.

Liverpool in Benitez's era have been sad underacheivers, a one-trick pony if I ever saw one, and until he goes you guys will never recapture all of the glory that made you England's top club.

Attendance records mean fuck all, they are only a straw to grasp when you have fuck all else to cheer about. Liverpool has great support and a terrific atmosphere and I was at the first game V your lot this season and all you could muster was booooooooooooooooo. It was truly pathetic. If we had only 10,000 at a game we`d create a better atmosphere than you because our expectation is way way higher.

Lovely post or not, it's a bit of a laugh that a kid who lives in America is having a pop regarding attendances at games.

I still remember Gemmill acting out a jihad on that lad who said we were shit fans at the match while posting from abroad. :D

What a dick. You are easily the worst support in the Premiership, and I include Fulham in that. I was at Analfield the other month you didn't sing till you were 2-0 up, and even then it was "going down going down".

The biggest boos I've heard this season were at Analfield when Marseille beat you 0-1. I pity you as does a nation at large, I work in London some of the time, and often do discreet straw polls when I'm in the office, and everyone of them, apart from one cockney murderers fan, thinks scousers are cunts. EVERY SINGLE ONE.

before it was all seater, anfield could hold well over 50,000. i think its record attendance is something like 70,000

62,000 it was, and they could get high 50's well in to the 70's.

Replying to stevie..............

Then you need to be better informed. You`re quite simply wrong. They think we`re cunts because we`ve won more than any of them have. It`s jealousy. football is about winning, that is the main objective. We have done more of that than any other English team and that breeds contempt amongst others.

The biggest boooos this season were when your "fans" booooooed Fat Sam for being a realist and forced the return of the fairy godmother.

Saying Liverpool has the worst support in the PL really makes you sound fairly thick. Ever heard of the Kop?..................known the world over.............wonder why that is?...................make you look even sillier.
