Do you fraternise with any of the Newcastle lot? There's a canny lad called Dave (particle physicist with a ponytail) who usually props up the bar in Finnegans, though when our games were on Five all the time in our UEFA Cup Group Stage glory days we'd spend many a Thursday evening trying to teach the addled barman in Titanic how to change the channel on the landlady's dodgy satellite system...

 

One or two I've met are at Airbus. Is Dave at DESY? One of the Spurs lot is from there. I'll pop into Finnegans and see if 'Dave' is around.

I know a Dave from another 'lab' here and when drunk he is liable to write down state secrets on a napkin.

I think he's at DESY, aye. One of those places anyway. I try to tune out whenever the conversation turns to anything with words of more than four syllables ("Foluwashola" aside).
