Pavel Srnicek.

Seeming assumed cult status for wearing the 'Pavel is a Geordie' t-shirt when we wer handed the 1st Division trophy and then couldn't put a foot wrong.

In reality he was fucking hopeless. A half-decent shot-stopper but that was it for me. Flapped like mad

So, do you just copy others posts and claim as your own often? ;)

Nope. I just didn't pay any attention to your post :)

David Batty - if anyone cost us the title it was that yorkie scrote

Couldn't disagree more - massive scapegoat, him.

Both Batty and Asprilla get used as scapegoats for what happened that season but the difference is, Batty was actually good, Asprilla had very few good games for us, Batty was steady in almost every one he played.

He was as good as anyone from us from when he signed until the end of that first season. He played really well against Man Utd as well I thought, especially in the 2nd half when heads went down after they scored. If you're looking for people to blame it would have to be those already at the club who lost form / bottled it.

I don't think anyone thought he was great but I though Onyewu was far shitter than most seemed to, even if he has gone on to have a decent career since he left.
