The darkest, grittiest black humour realism film in human history. No film has gripped me as much, no film has made me laugh more, no character is more real and hilarious as Francis Begbie. Truthfully it's by far me favourite film. I think you need to be a specific type of person to like it. If you're a fanny or a girlie girl in to chick flicks and pop factors it's not going to be for you, because it's unlikely you'll have the humour to appreciate it. World class film which I'll watch in my old peoples home when I'm 90. They promised to make the sequal Porno, by 2008 it's still not fuckin here. 2. Goodfellas The jewel in Scorsese's crown in my view. So funny, again it's a black humour film which probably encapsulates the NY gangster era really well. "One dog goes one way and the other dog goes the way, and the guy with the white hairs saying "WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?" He's not saying that at all 3. Schindler's List Obviously we all appreciate the horrors of holocaust, but to have it brought in to your mind like this film does, I don't think I've cried more in my life than when the old people are putting the rocks on his grave at the end. Brad Pitt was the perfect man to play 'The pikey'. 'Good dags, good family' 2. Batman. The Dark Knight This is on the list for only the role Heath Ledger played as the joker. Anyone who's seen it knows he played that part brilliantly. Edge of the seat stuff. Well written. Can watch it time and time again. 3. Kes Just love it. Always have. Always will. The Sting See above Field of dreams I loved the bit where the young ghost of the Doc, turns into the old ghost of the Doc, (Burt Lancaster) to save the bairn. Also Porno will probably never be made now Stevie - iirc Ewan McGregor fell out with Danny Boyle and there was a complete impasse, because it was felt Renton should not be changed. In truth they're all a bit old now to do the film, although the rest of the cast, including Carlyle, really wanted to do it. The prequel book 'Skag boys', should be out soon and might provide an opportunity for a film but I suspect it won't be good as Welsh has gone downhill, again imo. As for three favourite films, no way could I get it down to just three. They said they were definitely going to do it 3 or 4 years ago, the only problem was they all looked to good. I agree, watched the film first and loved it, read the book and its a superb read, better than the film by far and Stevie would love it with all the phonetic speech in it. I agree, watched the film first and loved it, read the book and its a superb read, better than the film by far and Stevie would love it with all the phonetic speech in it. I read the book in 1997 and couldn't get in to the Edinburgh dialect in the book, took me three years to understand what "likesay" was. Brilliant read though. Not sure why I love it so much, it's obviously a good film but there's something about the whole premise that makes me love it to bits. The third one is canny as well but the second one is a bit shite. Taxi Driver is up there as well. De Niro is unbelieveable in it, the scene at the presidential rally is one of my favourite scenes of any movie and the end sequence with the gunfight in the brothel is immense from the little conversation between him and Harvey Keitel to the ending.
