I guess not, there is a possibility that a kind childless couple acted in bizarre desperation (as per NJS's example). The chances are that people like that could get children to adopt much more simply. The highest probability is that she was abducted by paedophiles.

If a key factor in the discussion is the utilisation of new mass media and social networks etc then you cant look outside the period since the interest in the case was fuelled by the 'discussion' taking place on comments sections and message boards.

As for the abduction/adoption angle, there are better ways of doing that, i know a rich woman who went to Mexico after an earthquake and adopted a kid. This abduction methods seems like a ridiculous way of doing things when there are many easier ways of adopting through money / bending the law.

Society should stop at nothing to bring the perpetrators of such action to justice, no matter how society arrives at that endpoint (via parents organising global media campaigns or whatever).

 

Do you also apply this to the likes of the Catholic Church and its members, some of whom rank amongst the most prolific paedophiles in recorded history? Only ask because I don't remember any ranting from you in the threads pertaining to those crimes.

 

WRTTMMC, my main objection is the length of time since the crime and my assumption that not only is the trail currently dead, but the likelihood of our police force ever locating her is negligible at best. If those assumptions were wrong then I think you could justify the expenditure.

Did they eat at the restaurant or just drink wine? I can't remember, I know it was reported. If they didn't eat at the restaurant that could help explain how they disposed of the body, if they did such a thing.
