Rangers enter Administration

so it would be a good thing then ?

Rangers would be better off if they bought Bury mind, that would put paid to your claims it's such a disaster for them.

You do like to jump the gun too soon and get easily carried away don't you. Those 50,000 supporters aren't going to just disappear and support someone else because Rangers will cease to exist. Sometimes I wonder where people like you get your ideas from.

What's it like to always be wrong ?

Tell me ??

Who cares where the 50,000 will go. as it stands they support a team that iminently does not exist, that's really true if the vote is NO.

A new club can start but it'll be Rangers 2012, nee history, nothing, except in the minds of the fans. IF Rangers 2012 can get an association membership.

Aye but there's a difference between going in to administration and liqiudation. Loads of clubs have went in to administration, with appointed administrators, and paid off their debts at reduced agreed rates between the administrators and creditors, survived and come out of administration.

Most of the time they can do this because they're not as heavily as endowed to the tax man as Rangers are, and private creditors think fuck it, better get something than nothing and don't press bankruptcy charges, whereas with the tax man it's a completely different scenario. Being in administration is one thing, being liquidated is quite another, and that's what has happened to Rangers. They don't technically exist any more. It's Rangers FC 1873-2012. I think everyone knows they'll come back eventually, and no one is saying people will start supporting another club, but Rangers 139 year history is over. It's a new club that will come back. If this happened to Newcastle United, we'd be a new club technically probably Newcastle United AFC, but we wouldn't be the old club, and Rangers are by far the biggest club this has ever happened to. In 1986 Boro stayed in Division 3, nowadays they'd end up in the Northern League Division Two under a new guise.

Interesting point. The new Rangers will have zero silverware to boast about. I imagine most NUFC fans would be gutted if that happened to us (despite our trophies being won before most of us being born), but not all of us apparently.

Btw, this talk about Ibrox becoming an Ikea or Morrisons, isn't the stadium, or at least part of it, listed? Besides, anyone who has ever been to that shit tip in Govan will know its not worth redeveloping in the present economic landscape.

you don't read a word do you ?

to answer your specific question. You insinuated NUFC would spend the Carroll money on other players. You said we are doing it like Spurs. To date, we have not spent the Carroll money, and we have not matched or got anywhere near matching Spurs on a consolidated basis despite being a bigger club than Spurs.

Rangers will not disappear, having a new name and challenging their equally bigoted rivals in a few years time is NOT disappearing. Like all other football supporters, they will forget about the past when the team starts winning again. What happens to them, at worst, will be little more than a relegation, like Fiorentina. They are not Third Lanark. All your blabbing is for nothing, but I realise it is because you WANT this to happen, therefore you THINK it will happen,

But it will not happen. They will be back, or play somewhere else. The alternative is selling the land the ground sits on to Tesco, do you think this will happen ?

depends on the management of the club. Someone who understood the club etc, not too long, someone who didn't understand the club and wasn't prepared to take risks knowing the potential and fanbase of the club, longer.

You DID ask.

I'm not sure what you mean by taking risks. We'd need a benefactor prepared to put his own money into the club as borrowing would be pretty much out of the question. Should we have someone lacking the necessary funds or unwilling to put them in then it could be a long, hard slog.

Newcastle United? Nee more than 5 years. We're not Leeds, Forest or Sheff Wed. I'd allow two seasons where we don't go up.

If all went well then I'd agree. However, if we struggled to get promoted from League 1 then we would see attendances fall below 30,000 I reckon. Which wouldn't leave us too far ahead of the clubs you mentioned.

I bet you are

I am thoroughly enhjoying the moment - I've had nearly 40 years of hearing from both sides of the Old Firm quotes along the lines of .. " ... aye ok you support the jags but who are your BIG team?" - so to turn the tables is quite refreshing!

Aye our 11 trophies gone forever. It didn't matter so much for Boro in 1986 seeing as they had literally won fuck all, not one trophy or even appearance in a major final.

Rangers FC history is over. The new club starts with 0 trophies.

Aye the main stand is listed. Best stand in the world imo, certainly the best I've ever physically seen.

One of the stands facia is listed

Administrators valued the assetts/land commercially at £100Million, then sold them to the new owner for £5.5Million,(which just so happens to be the amount that covers said administrators fees, the new owner also has previous business links to the "nota fit and proper person" Craig Whyte) the whole thing stinks. Not an outlandish suggestion that HMRC's liquidator will freeze/rewind that transaction when they're fully in charge. HMRC's Liquidator appointed is a heavy duty specialist in forensic liquidation of dubious companies.

Expect all previously connected to get a good going over and perhaps some rather large tax bills (including ex players etc).

And it'll only be a matter of time before Celtic overtake the old club on every single front, and they'll lose their pathetic boast of being the most 'succesful' club in history. :icon_lol:

I've ventured onto the Bear's Den forum and they are to a man an utter set of wankers, hardly any of them can see what the club has done wrong and why they are where they are. This is highly enjoyable.

C'mon ewerk, you know EXACTLY what he means, it's just his usual but camouflaged diatribe.

I love the Den, it's hilarious.

In all seriousness. That's what's really turned everyone else's attitudes so hard, if it'd been "fair cop" we've been a disgrace (or our owners have) relegate us to the thrid or somesuch, it could have been different.

Most "decent" fans have adopted the contrite attitude, but sadly the club, it's officials and the media have been on the "we've been punished enough" and "what did we do wrong you MUST have Rangers" bandwagon that the momentum is hardening attitudes day by day.

Just about everyone fanwise (from Brechin to Celtic) now just wants them dead (really dead)

Update

Judge orders report into Duff and Phelps appointment as administrators (they were dodgy Craig Whyte's choice begrudgingly accpeted by HMRC who wanted their own "boys" in).

Judge states Administration must not end until he has seen the report, evidently the report will take 3 weeks.

So

Rangers 1872 will exist for 3 more weeks, with a NO vote to transfer the share Newco can't become Rangers 2012 for at least three weeks (or sometime therafter) If Judge doesn't like the report, everything will be likely be frozen, pending investigation.

The new season will be 3 weeks away by then, can't see any way they play anywhere next season.

Seems like all of this is getting to the ex players too. On twitter Nacho Novo's crack to Celtic fans who were abusing him: "Why uz no go home ya Fenian Bastards still have more history than uz PAEDOS hahahahaha WATP.” Fuck me  OB investigating.

is that the same people who say they won't go back for different reasons, and castigate the owner for it, time and time again, but do when the teams wins 2 or 3 games, kissing the owners arse when they do, and will then disappear again when they lose 2 or 3 games ?

Or those who are happy to see our best players sold and the manager not backed with the money ?

Edit.

Actually Renton, while I am proud of the clubs history, just like everyone else, maybe too many people these days make excuses about the club as it is now, ignoring what it takes to succeed in the present day and immediate future, and choose to hide behind the history in many ways ? What do you think ?

Having a proud history doesn't get you anywhere in the modern game, unfortunately.

it isn't me who says the club, or any other big club in a similar situation, will disappear, is it ?

On the contrary, I think that stand is as safe as houses and you have only added to that belief.

I fully agree. Enjoy it, every minute of it.

Do you think it will be a bad thing though, if Celtic are allowed a free run at everything [more or less, you get my drift] ?

couldn't care less about that lot either - sooner or later their self styled "best fans in the world" will get pished aff playing meaningless games and eventually drift away leaving them staring into a financial abyss - over the last few seasons they've been publishing crowds of 55000 (Season Ticket Holders) for games against St Mirren and the like but when you see the game on the telly every second seat is empty _ as another poster said the quality of the players up here is shockingly low and the fans of the gren filth will soon walk away when 4 games/outlets for their sectarianism are cut off at source.

and all the shite foreign imports will disappear, and young home grown players of any glimmer of ability won't get hoovered up, as a matter of course,by the OF and may actually develop into proper players by playing competitive football.

that's very honest of you mate......others get very defensive about the SPL sometimes.

Every club has negatives including NUFC, it doesn't take much to admit to or recognise them.

Hope you have a good season and continue to enjoy taking the piss out of all of them, on both sides.
