  3. I can picture him in the golf club bar with them, pringle jumper tied around his neck, laughing about PPI protection and scotchguard coatings.

  4. They won't be able to break us down first half when we sit deep then when we put it up 'em in the second they'll fold. 2-0, arsenal fan to paraglide down from L7 and throw his ticket at Wenger

  5. he has his flaws. he clearly hasn't got the best engine in the world, he's prone to the odd moment of madness, and an be ineffective against teams which press him high, but he has to go to the world cup. i love how he's always looking for the ball and he's always looking to pass the ball forwards. he's unlike any other england player in that respect. he would have been an ideal player to bring on against iceland. when a team is sat back defending a lead is when he comes into his own.

  7. Could be several seasons. Perhaps they will form one of their famous bonds with them.

  8. The fact they’ll be playing Burton two seasons in a row has a delicious irony.

  12. Beat me to it. It’s scarily reminiscent of my early 20s in Chester Le Street so it’s close to my heart

  13. Didn't it come out a few weeks ago that we had some sort of agreement in place to sign him? Maybe not nailed on but something that would put us in a strong position. Fwiw I certainly don't think he's of the standard at the moment where he could get anywhere near PSG or Munich's teams and I don't see Chelsea giving him much game time either. They are having a poor season but they have better players than him already so it doesn't make sense for them to backtrack. It's much more likely they'll just spend more money. I think a lot of our support are overhyping him tbh. He's certainly an improvement on what we had and he's doing quite well but you'd think he was the new Ginola the way that some people go on about him.

  14. What I love most about JonJo (and there are many, may things) is that he very rarely wastes a ball, always looking forward, even with his headers. He's enough close control too to always find that bit of space to make the forward pass. Though I agree with @Alex that he has trouble with high pressing teams. Unreal if England don't take him to Russia. Can he play for Ireland? Because he looks and acts like a proper knacker.

  16. I do wonder if the penny is starting to drop with some players, hopefully Kenedy has learned from his time at Chelsea that being at a club where you play regularly is better than sitting on the bench or being a reserve, if he goes to PSG or wherever he'll not exactly be getting in ahead of Neymar or Mbappe. I know Man City are starting to lose players like Jadon Sancho to Dortmund and whatnot because they know its their best opportunity to develop and play first team football, considering the wages that lower PL clubs can offer now especially perhaps we'll see the "top" clubs ability to just hold onto buckets of players start to fade away a bit.

  17. Amber Rudd....either a blatant liar or utterly incompeten. Or, and evidence is certainly pointing that way, both...* * with added Boris Johnson, who wrote the book on this shit...

  18. If you think they'd do better without him, how do you explain the unexpectedly good GE results? A heinous tory government isn't the entire reason as 2015 showed. I wouldn't mind a new leader but not at the cost of a return to centrist policies as I think there is appetite (especially among the young) for something more decent.
