It's every other day or so Gloom. What the fuck are we supposed to think? There are individuals blatantly fuckin "at it"5 points

Still, it’s taken the heat off Johnson refusing to look at the picture of the laddie on the hospital floor, so, job done Laura4 points

As usual Cadwalladr nails it. The story that needs writing up is who the "senior tories" are that are spreading fake news during an election campaign. And print the faked whatsapp chats about 100s of protestors being ferried to the hospital in taxis paid for by Labour activists. All of it lies. At best, Kuennsberg is a useful idiot who is shit at her job. At worst she is complicit.4 points

We played defensive, counter attack football with an actual targetman, and a number 10 who harrassed their back line all game. We played further up the pitch because of that and so Rondon and Perez weren't as isolated as Joelinton is. We played with centre backs who would spray the ball about confidently but who were just as comfortable keeping the ball when possible. Now, we're humping balls up to nobody, or to Carroll when he's on the pitch. Joelinton is entirely on his own, Almiron and Saint Maximin need to beat two or three men before they get close to the opposition box and our defence is our biggest attacking threat. Also, I'd say that Benitez' defensive displays owed more to organisation and design, than to passion and individual ability.3 points

The media aren’t solely to blame for the rise of the Right, (Labour need to take a fucking good look at their utter failure to stop it over the last 5 years, too), but there’s been some blatant fuckery at play- not just the BBC, with their Tory QT audience plants etc, but the shocking amount of influence Murdoch, The Barclays, Rothermere etc have over UK politics is scandalous. Maybe I’m just getting salty because I’m fucking sick of it, but it fucking stinks to high heaven of “a cabal of mysterious Cuntish Businessmen” Edit; I’ve just seen Kuennsberg’s video of the “attack”. I retract everything I just said. It’s a fucking stitch up.3 points

I can certainly blame them for giving an extraordinary amount of exposure to fucking Farage and whichever version of the National Front he’s currently peddling, without balancing it by giving, for example, the Greens an equal share of publicity. Everyone, left or right, knows who Farage is. I seriously doubt even 20% of the electorate could name the leader of The Greens.3 points

Agree with that. The problem with the hiring of Bruce was that it underlined that 17th was good enough. If the guy overachieves and gets us midtable then great for him, but that doesn't mean the club will kick on. Every season will be a relegation scrap that is easier or harder depending on how well he does, but it will never get beyond that point. So yes, there's nothing Bruce can do unless he can actually change the entire philosophy of the club.3 points

Just take away half of them. I'll give Bruce his due, since the Leicester debacle we've played with a spirit and a passion that's got us some good results. But we've not actually played well at all in any of the games v those teams who we're up against in mid/lower table. It'll come to a shuddering halt at some point in the not too distant future.3 points

Due to the nefarious origins of the thread poster, what became the original match thread has been unfrotunately destroyed. So that this important piece of the rich tapestry that forms our history is not lost to the annals of time I have elected myself as the chronicler, and will thusly record the thread as I recall it. Joelinton is shit. We too are mostly quite shit, but definitely nowhere near as shit as Joelinton. Can you believe we won despite our aforementioned shittiness? Oh shit is ASM seriously injured? Fuck. We'll be needing these points.2 points

Bruce is a cock, no amount of victories will change that. Factor in that most don't batter an eyelid whether we win or lose anymore then he's going to be waiting a while for any kind of recognition from most. J69 obv still cares like, whevener theres a free ticket going.2 points

Having said all of that, it looks like that tweet LK sent to her 1m+ followers about Hancock’s advisor getting lamped was done so without her even being there and has since been contradicted by video evidence. This is absolutely awful reporting on her part and she has to be reprimanded by the BBC if true.2 points

Where do the idiots working for Nissan get their information from? The ability of populists to present lies without challenge is the reason we're here. That and the fact that we don't educate people properly.2 points

Bruce has done well, certainly a lot better than I thought he would. It hasn’t changed my mind on his ability level though. The thing is though I’ve seen it said from the mackems and the media etc along the lines of ‘what does Bruce have to do to win them around’ etc, but he wasn’t the problem. He’s never been the one I (and I would hazard to guess many other fans) were bothered about, nowt changes until Ashley fucks off, that’s why I’ve never been arsed about wanting rid of Bruce or getting on his back. Ashley persists as the rot in this football club. If Bruce maintains this sort of form until January, or until the summer his reward would be lack of investment, we will never capitalize on momentum. We have somehow managed to assemble the best centre back group the club has had in my lifetime, I’m pretty certain any of Lejuene, Lascelles, Schar, Fernandez, or Clark would get a starting spot (or at very worst be the main backup) in basically all the squads we’ve had in the PL era, will we build around that? No, that’s why Bruce doesn’t matter and that’s why I’ve never been arsed about him short of calling him a shit manager. Good for him though and I’m taking nothing away from him, even if the wheels fall off at some point he’s still likely on track for one of his best seasons in management. Again though the problem will persist.2 points

At this stage, you get the impression Johnson could visit the lad lying on the floor, unzip his fly, and piss on him, live on TV, and it would make no difference to those voting for him. That's what I find unreal.2 points

Jess Phillips is one of the few good things the Labour Party has going for it, but she's not a party leader or a PM. Thornberry, Cooper or Starmer are the choices that could win an election. So it won't be any of them.2 points

I get the application of the rule and everything, I just think it should be there for the ‘howler’. More widely I think it interferes far too much with the flow of the game. The decision was correct though, in terms of the offside but I’m not actually clear if the official was at fault for putting his flag up or not tbh. Edit: I thought HMHM was saying it should just be there for clear and obvious errors2 points

Bizarre. I read a case about a lass who found a 20 pound note on a shop floor and pocketed it. Someone had dropped it. Long story short, the customer who dropped it came back and enquired, the CCTV showed she'd taken the money, she was prosecuted for theft, and now has a criminal record which has fucked her employment. All for not handing in a 20 quid note. And this fucker gets away with pocketing nearly 200 grand?!1 point

If the referee had blown for the incorrect offside decision, then the replay would have shown it was not offside and there would have been no end to it, especially if we had gone on to lose. It is not just this season when players have been told to play to the whistle. Players have been told that since they were able to stand and kick a ball competitively. We have multiple replays, due to the television coverage, so we may as well get them right when we can. I understand that it causes delays in reaching a decision, but I would much prefer having the right decision (when it goes in our favour) than not1 point

We have centre halves with a great ability to hold the ball and midfielders like Hayden and Longstaffx2 who are excellent at keeping the ball. More bollocks1 point
