  1. I think we need to have a three strikes policy on this thread. With The Mindy Project and now this, you’re one quirky US comedy recommendation away from being banned from this particular thread.

  5. The National guard are out in their military vehicles and all the shops are boarded up, the White House has a new security perimeter. Almost like a dictatorship. If USA wasn’t USA they’d invade USA.

  6. Is that the system whereby if I see some covidiot without a mask, I can fucking lamp them?

  7. I try to keep out of the Waffle thread, but I don’t really see the issue here. If you swap “antisemitism” with any other “ism”, not many people would be arguing for Corbyn’s stance here. Labour fucked up, Starmer accepted they did, Corbyn didn’t. That’s one of the multiple reasons he’s not the leader any more. The whole criticism of Israel issue is, I think, unrelated to what’s the actual issue here. The issue is that Corbyn was, as a party leader, weak as piss and wouldn’t make a decision, and, crucially, was blinded by his stance on Palestine, which allowed the antisemites to do their thing.

  11. Nice to see Longstaff back in putting something of a performance in. It's probably as well as he's played in the premier league since Rafa left. If he can get back to the performances of his first season then it could make a massive difference to our otherwise pedestrian midfield. Hendrick has been pretty much as completely average as I expected (and my Burnley supporting brother in law told me he would be). Longstaff on his game and Hayden would probably be the best pairing we could put out. I did think we looked like we had some idea of what we were trying to do with our attacks on Sunday which made it much better to watch than the dross of the last couple of games. It wasn't a brilliant match by ay stretch but it didn't make me want to poke my eyes out so I'll take that for now.

  12. Outstanding article written by the late Mr Fisk absolutely nailing media obeisance which abounds today as well as damning the chronicle which is a Brucie's bonus.

  13. Bookies have continued to slash Biden's odds (did I get that term right? I know very, very little about betting). Link: https://bookies.com/news/presidential-election-odds-daily-tracker Like I said earlier, this turnout just isn't a bunch of people who suddenly decided Trump was a good president after 4 years. It's the continuation of the blue wave that started in 2018. I hope I sound confident because I'm fucking shitting it, God help me.

  15. It sounds to me like people are voting for "not Trump" more than they're voting for Biden. That would worry me normally but Trump is so repulsive that it might well be enough.

  22. Exactly, the EHRC inquiry made no conclusions on legitimate criticism of Israel so you can stick your IRRELEVANT point up yer hoop.
    1 point
  23. you don't think starmer would condemn netanyahu now? there is nothing antisemitic about criticising the state of israel's actions. the EHRC report didn't state otherwise.

  24. I’m really enjoying Murphy & Lewis as wing backs mind. Although I’m not really seeing the purpose of Hendrick & Id sooner incorporate Fraser into the starting 11. Nice that Shelvey is out of the way for a bit too, he hasn’t been great. Typically lazy, arrogant performances. All fart and nee shite.

  25. you can be principled and pragmatic. the dogma that corbyn, and his followers, preach is self-defeating, pig-headed and ultimately enables more tory rule. in fact, for that reason, i'd say corbyn has been just as bad for the country as cameron, osborne and johnson/cummings. we have never needed competent opposition more. it looks like we finally have it in starmer
