FWIW, I'm not big on bringing back Rafa at this point. Before he signed for Everton, he would definitely have been up there, but since he's always been harking to go back home to Merseyside, my impression is that other than Liverpool, he's probably where he wants to be right now. I don't really want NUFC to be anyone's rebound. I would prefer to go with a fresh start, and would like to get someone who has more of a reputation for attacking football. Conte, Pep, Poch and Klopp....the way they play the game excites me, I think we should be looking for someone who shares a similar philosophy.

At least with the Lions squad there, as well, giving them practice matches, it may show that Mahmood (or someone else) should be to the main squad. I agree about Overton. We have too many similar players, and I don't see him getting a game unless there are a significant number of injuries. Martinez took over a fairly solid but unspectacular Everton side if memory serves and everyone was wanking about his first season where they still managed to keep solid but had some flair. Second season the D Day landing fleet could've passed through their midfield and back line. A bit like Bruce carrying over the Rafa effect for a while. He's not what we need in our boat.
