Nailed on that this was Ashley's parting gift to Bruce. Don't rock the boat, don't ask for transfers in the Summer and you will have a nice £8mil payoff as a reward5 points

Class. Staveley spends 3 weeks sounding out the best European coaches around and the PIF bloke puts his mate from the Saudi league in charge instead2 points

Don't think we can be 100% certain on our opinions of what players can and can't do until we see them with a competent manager at the helm. If Lewis gets some coaching he might be a decent Left Back. Almiron might return to the kind of performances we saw under Benitez. Saint Maximin might be utilised in such a way as to allow him freedom without asking any tracking back from him. Hell, Joelinton might be a useful player in the right system, for all we know.2 points

Tldr: Dazzler wants George to stop talking about the Mags and start talking about Sunderland.1 point

It’s definitely Huntington. I remember that mid-2000s hairstyle very vividly when he scored past Spurs1 point

I imagine we've all seen the headlines about this lad but it's nice to see that even under our morally dubious ownership, the club has supported him. It is worth noting that a reasonable number of (apparently) Saudi fans of the club are being less inclusive in the comments and being called out by other fans. Could be an interesting dynamic longer term.1 point

The idea that a) they could just pay Rafa a manager's salary to stay out of work in case something happened, and b) Rafa would accept that arrangement, is nonsense. If the only way for the new management team to look competent in your eyes, was to enter into a fantasy business arrangement before they even became the new management team, they're on a hiding to nothing.1 point

Rafa is elite. He'd do allsorts with a bankroll. That wouldn't necessarily involve trophy signings but he'd build a successful side without question.1 point

Aye- his standard attire of donated BHS black jeans and Pumas is nothing like this coulrophobic’s nightmare.1 point

It’s 6 months old, Grandparents of a colleague had it but one of them broke a hip so they can’t look after it properly. She’s played all her guilt-cards in a Royal Flush, crafty shithouse1 point

Third division club if you don't mind. NO nicked that off me before they got all precious about outdated terminology so I would like to claim it back.1 point

It's so classy of them to let so many of the other teams win that cup final.1 point

Good luck to the Fists. Starmer's got it. If he gets through without having to wear a ventilator, he should make a big feature of that at his next PMQs. Calling Johnson a soft cunt and that.1 point

Yeah I've heard of a few people in the same households as those who have it somehow avoiding catching it too. Just be as careful as you can be I guess. Force them to live in the shed for a while, as long as you agree to pay for therapy afterwards?1 point

No they’re not! They’re a “massive club” with a “rich history” & “class” who everyone adores. They’re merely on holiday in league one to give the other teams a cup final.1 point

My mates lass got it last week and somehow he’s survived without catching it so far. Could just be an excuse to make him kip on the couch like.1 point

Despite his many failings we had some really enjoyable games under the self appointed king. Mind you we had some quality players as well; Ba, Cisse, HBA, Cabaye, Wijnaldum, Colo, Jonas, Shane Ferguson and an untold number of substitute left backs.1 point

It’s currently the Carabao Cup, sponsored by “ Thailand’s second most popular energy drink” ( I shit thee not) Here’s the chairman.1 point

FWIW, I'm not big on bringing back Rafa at this point. Before he signed for Everton, he would definitely have been up there, but since he's always been harking to go back home to Merseyside, my impression is that other than Liverpool, he's probably where he wants to be right now. I don't really want NUFC to be anyone's rebound. I would prefer to go with a fresh start, and would like to get someone who has more of a reputation for attacking football. Conte, Pep, Poch and Klopp....the way they play the game excites me, I think we should be looking for someone who shares a similar philosophy.1 point

Well, we have a new U23 manager at least. Lol at “Dick Man” but also lol at Sunderland having their man nicked from them. They have a decent record of handling youth tbf and that is, amazingly, NOT a joke about Johnson1 point

Imagine robbing Rafa off Everton. Shelvey would react like he’d been asked to do a shift at the coalface1 point

Fonseca is obviously just too much of an unknown quantity at this stage. If we were mid-table with a well balanced squad might well have been worth a punt, but they need someone who can come in and get points from the get go, Fonzy is more of a 'let's dream the dream!' option.1 point
