  1. Well that's one thing he has in common with Steve Bruce.

  2. We've always seen the similarities to be fair, CT. One night of love then an eternity under a patio on a building site he's had to visit. Not for me, Meenz.

  5. Edwards is so full of shit. Why the fuck would the club restrict itself to managers who are currently out of work? My guess is he thought the most likely outcome would be us getting a manager currently unemployed with PL experience so he said that’s what the club was targeting. That way he could claim he had the inside track. If Emery arrives it’ll be another of his little nuggets of shite that has backfired. He didn’t even know what was happening when he was getting his info direct from the manager.

  9. Nuno hounded out after three months, but barely a word about his treatment. Bruce, on the other hand, with the lowest PPG of any permanent manager during Ashley's reign, was hounded out by hordes of malicious Geordies, ungrateful northern mankeys, etc etc. Spurs are rotten, if I were a manager looking to build something I'd steer far clear. Levy runs that club, you'll never be able to realize any sort of vision as long as he's at the reins.

  13. Howe would be capable of outpointing the cabbage and keeping us up, I reckon. Totally uninspiring but if it's a short term appointment to keep us up, so be it.

  14. They're at an advantage given that they already have a functional structure in place, they already spoke to him in the summer and his mate is their director of football.

  17. If we're struggling to get our top targets I'd be more than happy for Nuno to get it. I mean if it were a choice between him and Martinez it's no contest. Nuno was unfortunate in the mess he inherited with the Kane situation, and Spurs didn't really do any big business, for a club of their size, in the transfer market this past summer. And obviously Nuno knows what it's like to be in the bottom half of the table. Although I don't place as much importance on the aforementioned as some. Some pundits would have you believe that it would be better to get Fat Sam over a highly experienced and highly rated European coach, just because he has a record of managing shit teams.

  22. 1.21 points per game gets us to 38 points and probable safety. Steve Bruce's lifetime PL record is 1.13 points, so we only need someone to come in and get their cabbage on plus a little bit extra, and we'll be just about there.

  23. we're going to need a run of wins to get back into mid table security which looks increasingly unlikely given our run of fixtures, lack of manager and truly terrible players. now excuse me while try to wring my sheets

  24. If Spurs do sack Nuno then they'll definitely be looking at the same calibre of manager as we are. It's about time our lot made their minds up.

  26. Bruce was desperate to sign Willock, not surprising really since he saved his job last season. We spent all our Ashley budget on him for the summer, if he knew he was crocked, he wouldn't have give a shit, he'd have played him anyway in the hope history might repeat itself.

  27. Fucking mental that they've been twatted 5-1 in a third division game. At least they enjoyed those new manager derby wins which will keep them nice and warm on those cold third division nights. 👍

  30. If it's easier, just accept that we're going down. It's not going to matter much in the overall scheme of things since the new owners will need a few years to get us ticking anyway. This season just doesn't matter all that much compared to having been taken over full stop.

  31. People need to chill the fuck out! (that’s my most @Gemmill post on here to date. In a few weeks we’ve gone from Ashley to the RICHEST CLUB IN THE WORLD. Ive gone from forcing myself to watch Newcastle to actually watching as many different teams as I can. The apathy has gone. I’m back in love with football. Not only has hope returned, but also the certainty that pretty soon we will be back competing at the top table. European nights are coming. We are probably going to win something The fact that our new owners have been caught a little on the hop doesn’t bother me at all. Very soon we will have a “big boy” run football club with DOF, corporate directors, the whole shabang and decisions will run like clockwork. Things are a bit slow with the current set up but this will all change soon. We all know that. They have a shortlist, it’s now in the hands of the big cheeses and whether it’s this week or next bothers me little. Even a dip into the championship, while sad, would only be a very short dent in the overall trajectory. Happy fucking days man! (pub night)

  33. For the record and to my surprise Fernandez's exclusions from this game and the Palace one were tactical. Jones favours Clark and Krafth in defense over him, and also over Schar. He chose Schar for the bench spot as he sees him as more versatile. Based on everything I've seen I'd have a fit Fede as the first choice defender. Not only do I believe that he is our most consistent defender but he's also one of the best on the ball and generally doesn't make many errors. But what would I know.

  35. He's not wrong. Darlow, Richie, Lascelles, Clarke, Hayden, Shelvey, Gayle all stinking the place out since we were relegated 5 years ago. 5 or 6 of them probably in our starting XI too

  36. Booing and abusing him over a sub. Yet totally looked over on MOTD and no doubt everywhere else. Villa fans throw cabbages at Bruce and Newcastle fans are too demanding and cunts

  37. I think Almiron, Dubravka, Fernandez, Schar and Willock coming into the team, and Fraser, Darlow, Krafth, Clark and Longstaff being benched could improve us considerably. Even getting Dummett back in and around the team has to be better than what Krafth and Clark are offering. Surely a decent manager would see the utility in having someone who's decent on the ball in Schar in the defence for starters. I mean the amount of times we nearly gave Chelsea the ball on the edge of our box, when trying to play out, should be indication enough that Clark, Krafth et al can't handle playing out from the back. If those players come in and the new manger finds a set up and way to play that suits said players along with ASM and Wilson, and he doesn't play people like Almiron out of position, then we can definitely improve quite a bit. I mean Rafa is a great manager, but if he can get a tune out of what was probably a considerably worse squad, then surely a very decent manager can keep us up. Or should I say keep us at least within touching distance of safety before the January transfer window, when things thereafter could change for the better.

  38. Last week he said Krafth and Fraser trained well, which is one thing, but did he not see our last match? No reason for either to be in the side.

Nothing’s changed for them – they don’t have a manager, they’re in a relegation battle, and I don’t know what’s going on. the irony. what an absolute fucking meatball.
