They’re just the latest soft target. They have to be politically neutral in public and can’t answer back. So they’re being blamed for something they aren’t to blame for. Not only are they not to blame for it, they’re tasked with trying to make ridiculous policy work in practice.4 points

His most fucked up "wewkum beck to anuvva video on vuh channuw" yet. The wewkum beck was 100% Australian.3 points

You know most people don't even know what the single market is right? All they'll hear and all they'll be told is Labour want to undo Brexit. People are not across the detail of this issue. They don't understand the nuance and they don't want to fucking hear it explained. They deal in binary arguments.3 points

Toonpack is right. The litany of lies was clear to everyone with two brain cells to rub together before the last election. Obviously Corbyn was a factor but the election win was more or less purely down to the perception Brexit would be done and we’d get our sovereignty back etc. Any rowing back on that in terms of election pledges would give Johnson a field day3 points

He knows nowt. Plus he caveats everything with open ended comments so he can turn around and say eg "well I did say that he was really pricey but nufc decided to pay it."3 points

Shame about Eriksen. He could have been a transformational signing. Hope he’s a massive failure for Man U3 points

He's ruled out rejoining for at least the period that the manifesto covers though - 5 years minimum. He didn't have to do this and it is going to turn a lot of voters against him, whilst I supect gaining none. One thing we need to remember is that we talk about Brexit in a bubble in this country, seemingly oblivious to what the EU of EFTA want. I personally don't think they will let us rejoin the SM for at least a decade anyway. So "making Brexit work" is fair enough, but I draw the line at categorically blocking even trying to rejoin the SM or talking about it. He's a coward.3 points

Begs the question, does he still have rape and beat up women/ethnic minorities tendencies, that training is hard to shake off.3 points

who’s going to be plugging away in mid table? Our owners have the top six in the crosshairs. Some players can see that and will buy into it. We had no right to sign the likes of trippier and Bruno last season but they can see what’s happening and were persuaded to join at the beginning of the project.3 points

I mean, on principle it’s utterly ridiculous but the thought of having Gemmill paying for my kid’s childcare is a sure fire vote winner.3 points

100%. Catchy bullshit statements will win the war. I've just looked up the 2019 Tory manifesto and the first thing it says - we'll get Brexit done. Just shite soundbites that idiots will gobble up. These idiots decide the fate of our country not the knowledgeable. https://www.conservatives.com/our-plan2 points

I think you're naive to think ending FoM wasn't the major reason most people who did so voted leave - and those voters had no clue about the CU /SM.2 points

@RentonI can't understand your position here. Last week you were saying he can't reopen the debate on Brexit because it'll cost him the next election. This week you're absolutely furious that he hasn't cost himself the next election by saying we'll reverse significant chunks of Brexit.2 points

Labour need a position on this. Standing up for the right position loses votes and allows the Tories to move the debate to a battleground they're very comfortable on and have won on in the past. This isn't a policy that will please anyone but is designed to ensure that the focus of the next election is on other issues. We can only hope that when in power that they push it a bit further but right now Brexit is the third rail of UK politics.2 points

I don’t get it. I get being cagey before the election because it’s a hot potato but to completely rule it out? I think he’s viewed as a ‘centrist’. Whether he actually is or not doesn’t matter but that’s his base and they’re overwhelmingly pro-European. I can honestly see his support dissipating if he goes ahead with this. Is this just to attract the fucking morons who won’t accept it’s been a huge mistake?2 points

Starmer to make a speech today confriming Labour will not join the SM or bring back FoM, effectively condemning us to decades of low growth and decline. Also I think personally this is the last straw for Scotland, I wish them well and might move there myself when the kids finish school. Why do we have to put up with this bullshit? I only vote to stop the party I hate most, I don't vote for anything positive anymore. It's a shit situation. I'll be honest now and actually hope Starmer gets fined and someone else gets a go at the wheel. I understand he doesn't want to stir up the Brexit shitfest but to actively side with the brexiters, who are now in a minority, is a fucking cunt's trick. Fuck you Starmer.2 points

It's a joke article. In answer to your opening sentence it could be a great prop to keep lying on your desk when the Knight's due in to ask for a pay rise so he can see how the Tyneside mighty can fall.2 points

What’s the fucking point in that story? He’s a habitual offender (including violent crime and carrying knives) and that’s it, bar appearing in a low budget film no one has heard of 35 years ago. To make it even more pointless they interviewed him 10 years ago. If you asked 100 people on Northumberland Street who he was, no one would have a clue unless they’d just been aggressively pestered for spare change by him. You’d probably get the same responses just after the film had been released. He did meet Robson Green once though.2 points

FFS, that is definitely the last time I click on a Ronny Gill link, not only an abortion of a website to actually read but the absolute stretching going on about calling this lad a 'hollywood' actor is unreal. A Tragic newspaper, never mind tragic tale.2 points

I wouldn’t be relying on Dummett in any way. He’s had a terrible recent injury record.2 points

Well if Ashworth and Howe think he's worth it and actually go for him, I'll trust their judgement over my own layman, in comparison, knowledge. And in fairness it's people like Thomas Tuchel, Hasenhüttl etc, i.e. people of a high caliber football knowledge wise who are praising him. It's not Paul Merson, Andy Gray, monkey hands Keys etc.2 points

You support a heinous regime and you’ve been sportswashed, marra. 6 in a row, FTM. It’s like that Exile toucher (blocked me on Twitter btw ). Totally unaware that by putting it’s xxxx days since Newcastle beat Sunderland at the top of each tweet he’s completely undermining any notion that it’s the human rights etc that he’s bothered about2 points
