Where has this thing about Max acting the cunt come from? It’s fine to not like him as a player, he is quite frustrating but the only quotes we have had out the club this summer are Eddie Howe saying he’s worked hard, had a good preseason and is happy3 points

No that's stupid, dumb and you should feel ashamed. We need depth and ASM performs well when played on the right so interest in a left winger does not mean he's out the door. They're asking £30-35m for Harrison which drops your 'profit' down to £5-10m which means fuck all If Chelsea want our most creative player of the last few seasons, they can stump up £60m+ or fuck off Chelsea have just signed Raheem Sterling and are already awash with attacking midfielders Tuchel's demands of a player are higher than Howe's so ASM's indolence wouldn't be tolerated there As has been said, on countless occasions, it's not a lack of available funds that's stopping us buying players it's; agents dicking around, clubs dicking around, our reasonable refusal to pay over the odds just because we've got cash. Are you a delicious platter or English Tapas? Cos you just got served!3 points

Dual citizenship is the business these days after the disaster that is Brexit. I got French citizenship (haw hee fucking haw) a couple of years ago, something I wouldn’t have bothered to do pre-Brexit.3 points

I’m sure he’s told about 5 different versions of the story where he’s been at a racing track and outperformed most of the professional drivers makes you wonder why he’s pretending to sell beef jerky and printer cartridges3 points

It will as well. Was thinking last night, I'm fucking sick of this neverending tory psychodrama, taking all the bandwidth, for at least 7 years now. For instance, why the fuck are these debates between Dumb and Dumber even being televised? 99.5% of people have no say in who becomes PM now. Just do a Zoom hustings for the twats that are tory members ffs.2 points

With regards to us not going out and spending daft money, is it not sensible to spend a season establishing some foundations and sorting the total mess we’ve inherited out? Do that in the background and finish top half and you’re in a fantastic place going into 23/242 points

Agree with Strawb on the topic of selling ASM, I’ve mentioned how frustrating I find ASM but as things stand he’s probably our best attacker (Wilson would be the other contender with everyone else miles behind). We’d then have to buy a LW, RW and possibly backup striker. I will say mind, if we could sell him for some high fee like £50m we’d be bonkers not to take it. It gives us a massive boost in terms of FFP as that whole £50m is captured in this year, with any player we buy having fees and wages spread over their contract.2 points

Edwards having a normal one by contradicting himself in the same thread of tweets. And what exactly has golf, which has an entirely different set of rules regarding spending got to do with anything. I'd say he was just trying to wind up fans for clicks, but I really don't think he's even savvy enough to do that intentionally. And of course this is coming from the guy who's all summer been telling us that we can't over spend because of FFP.2 points

Well this is interesting, they’ve gone for something fairly obvious at no. 1 but for me it’s pretty difficult to argue with it Its very yank-centric, obvs… Randomly saw this scrolling through and it’s a particular favourite so…..2 points

We may need depth but if ASM is acting the tit then he can go. We've supposedly bid around 20m, and he's not worth 30-35m, so they may be open to negotiation depending on how much money they need to complete their transfer business. ASM isn't worth 60m, although neither was Richarlison. 40M even is probably a bit steep, given ASM's limitations i.e. pressing, general defensive work, poor decision making, inconsistency etc, and apparent attitude problems. Sterling will most likely be playing off the right, and Werner who generally plays off the left could be leaving, or is at least out of favour at present. Yeah that's largely why I said I'd be surprised if Chelsea were actually after him. I'm past caring about FFP at this stage. I don't think anyone really knows the exact details of what the club wants to spend, why, what limitations we have and why, but again if ASM is being a tit, then getting rid makes sense if we can replace him and add to the coffers as well, regardless of how much money we have to spend.2 points

But surely future strikes shouldn't cause much disruption now this new law has been brought in? Unless you're telling me that there aren't actually 1000's of agency workers ready to take up these skilled roles at the drop of a hat.2 points

After 10 solid years, it looks like my streaming service is kaput. So... @Howmanheyman @PaddockLad @Dr Gloom .... I officially declare CT as Toontastic's Stream Queen. You should speak to him if you want sorting out - I got set up with a new service this morning courtesy of the man from Panama.2 points

It's directed by the tory press who'll weaponise it against Labour when strikes happen and at the election. I'm not expecting a firm commitment to reverse it.2 points

It was socialised fairly significantly 10 years ago or so with the Ice Bucket Challenge which was in support of ALS. It's also gained notoriety in association with anything to do with Stephen Hawking so I wouldn't say it's a hidden disease. The horrific thing is, it's degenerative. No one is ever coming back from it, yet the brain remains perfectly healthy. Pete, who I know cannot talk or move, but he wrote an entire quiz for the fundraiser night we did for him. Truly remarkable.2 points

I can’t believe someone is paying Lingard £200k per week, utter madness. You’ve got to think that the majority of the Forest first team are on about a tenth of that. He’s sure to cause a fair bit of resentment when he is spending half his time dabbing (or whatever arseholes get up to these days) on TikTok.1 point

This is the thing. The more we tie our colours to the "Tories will fuck this up and leave an open goal for Labour" mast, the more we need them to absolutely fuck this up - as they inevitably will if we give them the chance to, because we actually live in a fundamentally soft-socialist country, even if that voter base has been told they're actually conservative for such a long time and they love voting that way because it makes them feel a part of something. That's what, as an exception in the political continuum, Third Way Blairism got so right (and it's notable just how well the Lib Dems did at that time, too - the potential for a broad "centre and left" consensus has always been there, you just need the grounds to be fertile enough for that to happen in the first place). Now? Now those voters are used to being wooed by the hard-right narrative, because we really don't want to believe that other people deserve the same opportunities as us once they've been reinforced. But ultimately I do think and hope we can see some reversion as long as the Tory alternative is so clearly insane that it can't be outweighed even by the personal prosperity narrative. That's exactly the point we're at now, whether people (and therefore the polls) realise it - but the grim fact is that we do need things to get (even) worse before people will tip over to the other side in sufficient numbers to allow a regime change. And that's why I'm Team Truss.1 point
