I watched a YouTube one with Gallowgate shots with John Anderson and although it was canny, the amount of times they don't pick up on stuff, expand on answers and what have you is frustrating when listening. This kid basically ignored the promotion season of 83-84 as if it didn't happen and didn't mention any of the games, bar Liverpool in the cup. I honestly wanted to transport myself into that conversation, say to Anderson, 'Two seconds, John' before slapping the kid on either cheek, telling him to stand in the corner and watch how you actually talk, listen and ask the right questions. They might as well just not bother having anyone on who played before they were watching NUFC. Stick to James Perch or whatever. /2nd rant over4 points

If we can't afford it we won't pay it (FFP etc.) the club (Ashworth and his team) will have a valuation for a player and will offer up to whatever that is, they may (and should) try and get it below that, but definitely just shouldn't pay whatever another club wants out of hand. Given where we've come from I am so relaxed I am almost comatose about all this transfer malarkey.4 points

Am I right in thinking that it's a bit odd for Hope to be running stories about Chelsea trying to buy a Brighton player. I mean he is the Northern football writer for the Daily Mail. Perhaps he knows that if Chelsea get Cucurella they're unlikely to go for Fofana, thereby leaving us clear to get Maddison with them not getting the 80m for Fofana.3 points

The main reason I would want him was because how pissed off Leicester fans seemed to be at the thought3 points

Every single post by longtimeadmirer is moaning about transfer policy I'm with @Toonpack. It would be impoosible for me to be less stressed about the transfer window. I'm pretty confident Ashworth Howe et al have a better idea what's going on than me, and it's possible they might even be a better judge of a player than I am I'll still be chill if we didn't add anyone else this window Stay frosty as the departed parky used to say3 points

There were rumours of long covid but no idea if there's any substance to them. Although I think the sequence was that he played that 1 game, looked good, got covid, and then never played again so it sort of adds up.3 points

I prefer to use actual evidence rather than the subjective views of a lecturer. There is no 'second' S3 points

I haven’t noticed any excessive bed wetting on here either. And I should know - we can smell our own. Twitter is a different story. I can see what the owners are trying to do: develop a reputation as tough negotiators so we don’t have the piss taken out of us. Nothing wrong with that in the FFP era - particularly before we sign the big money commercial deals. But there will come a point where we have to show our hand and either pay the £50m+ needed for the type of player supporters want or concede we’re not quite ready to shop in that market. We got Bruno for a great price but I suspect that’s the exception rather than the rule and the likes of Diaby and Maddison will cost more. I still think we’ll sign a couple more forward players but we’ll only know how successful the window has been when it closes next month. The annoying thing about it is it doesn’t close before the season starts. I never really understood that.2 points

I bet all the crooked politicians are on the band wagon now. I bet there's fuck all mentions of selling off public playing fields or fucked leisure centres eh? Meanwhile our public poorly service I'd fucked even further. Anyways. Well done lasses I hope it inspires a load. I watched the tour de france femmes this week and it was heart warming to see so many lasses out on the course cheering you on. Slowly but surly these changes are happening. I know there's been a lot of innuendo and jokes on this thread but I genuinely believe 99% on here are a good bunch and want the positive change. We should treat these lasses like rockstars and if they don't win SPOTY jug ears can fuck off to bum his brother.2 points

Anyway I’ve been following it closely and winning the world cup is a great thing for the women’s game. So jolly well done!2 points

Well done to the England ladies, a great achievement. I just hope with all this excitement that they didn’t forget to get tea ready and do the ironing before they left for Wembley2 points
