  2. Just reading their forum now. Toys are out of the pram. Its gold: "personally thought Howe was a poor appointment from Newcastle at the time given what had happened at Bournemouth and he'd been out of work for a year, how wrong was I. Didn't start so well there given they didn't win a game for months, but he's been a fantastic appointment and is getting far more out of their squad than Gerrard is out of ours. I still actually think we're better on paper than Newcastle, given they have Targett at LB and Dan Burn at CB. It's actually a disgrace how much more Howe is getting from his squad of players than the fraud Gerrard."

  3. Enjoyed that. All the bravado pre match and then 10 mins in someone posts "It's a completely different game, isn't it?"..... "Blimey it's like the blitz"..... "This is a difficult listen." Anyway I don't know why I'm doing this, I've got nowt against them and would rather they stayed up than a handful of other PL teams. And it was their first day back for years so what's wrong with a bit of bravado. Basically I'm a cunt. The thing is as well, there's probably 10+ other grounds they could have gone to yesterday and come away feeling a lot better about the season. Us under Howe at SJP was one of the worst destinations for a newly promoted side cos we're a nightmare to play against now, especially at home. It's absolutely incredible the job Howe has done. A season ago, Forest could have come up here and probably been a coin flip to leave with a result, but we strangled the life out of them for 90 minutes yesterday. A proper professional team managed by a serious bloke.

  8. Hopefully we are behind Guedes and not the Wolves. Because I do believe that he is a player who fits in very well here. His best position is on the left wing, but I don't think he would have a problem switching places with Saint Maximin. In addition, he could really fight for a place with the Frenchman and that would make both of them raise the level. I really like Guedes. He is fast, he has a good shot from distance and he has good technique. Last year, he even ended up playing a lot as a reference forward up front (not his best position, nor is he a goalscorer), but it could be a solution in case Wilson is unavailable and we need something other than Wood.

  9. This refusal to accept that their era of dominance has ended is what, IMO, keeps this slow motion car crash going. They need to give it up and settle to their current natural level, before they can move forward again. Trying to reinvent themselves while retaining the champions league slots was always going to be a fool's errand. Their entire strategy is short termist and therefore is continuously exposed. If they had just accepted the order of things a season or two after Ferguson left, drifted down to midtable and started putting the foundations down for a new team and dynasty, they'd quite possibly be back threatening at the top by now. Instead they've milked their past successes to death like an aging hollywood actor and spammed money around as if they were Real Madrid, with those millions achieving incredibly poor value against how far money from other clubs goes, but just about keeping them hanging on. Sit down, take the medicine, spend a few years in midtable. Or continue to be a rolling spectacle of deluded wannabes, clinging on by the fingernails to European slots and relevance, but with no identity, plan or soul. It was funny for a long time but they're increasingly reminding me of the sort of people who harp on about the glory days of the British empire now. It's over, it's done, try to actually build something and move forward for fucks sake. This is just sad now. EDIT: To clarify mind, I'd be more than happy for them to drift into total obscurity and for that to just be the end of it. No loss whatsoever iyam. They're heading that way no matter what though, and frankly I'd prefer it if they'd just get the fuck out of our way.

  10. fries my brain still that man utd wanted £8m to loan this then nearly out of contract twat for a few months last season. I mean, I don't really need many more excuses to hate the manc cunts more than i already did, however I hope ten hag is an unmitigated disaster. they're undoubtedly the club out of the sooperdooper 6 we should be targeting to overhaul first.

  13. 5 of us made the journey up yesterday, arrived in a sun drenched newcastle just gone 11. couple of beers outside the union rooms or liberty house as it is now, not really my kind of place to be honest, but hey, I wish them well. head off to rafferty's (forest supporters had made the bars across from the train station pretty much their own, but not a hint of any bother I could see) to pick up a brighton ticket and confirmation of a wolves one too and then off to the percy. really enjoyed the match, was never in any real doubt we'd make the breakthrough, joelinton (first half especially) willock and bruno all superb. on another day 4 or 5 could've been the outcome tip of the day.... 5 blokes in a renault captur is a bad fit over an 8/9 hour journey, never been so pleased to get out of a car so much in my life as I was last night. don't be tempted to do it!

  15. Nottingham Forest have hired Lee Charnley as a consultant to help them in their transition to the PL 😂 Fucking hell, first they take a scattergun approach to signing players, sign tic toc star and mercenary Lingard, and now they're hiring Penfold. Whoever is running their club has more money than sense.

  16. best of mates with bristol now... https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/outside-the-ground-today.1585652/ I live half an hours drive away and have had countless nights out there, on the whole it's one of the most hippie/new age/inclusive/green cities you could ever visit. I can't think anywhere on the planet that bristol could be more the polar opposite of than than a backward, racist, edl infested hell hole than sunderland. funking mindboggling .

  18. I mean look at this unmitigated shit - one of the most delusional posts I've ever seen, it would be eyebrow raising on RTG ffs. Bruno equalled by some wanker I've never heard of called O'Brien, apparently. This is pre-game mind, I'd imagine reality kicks the door down at some point: Goalies: 1 Pope v Henderson: not a lot to choose between them; both in contention for an England place... honours even: PAR Defenders: 2 Trippier v Williams: Trippier immensley experienced at this level, and a full England international, but at 31 are his best years behind him? Williams, young rookie, full Wales international with the best years yet to come. Overall honours even: PAR. 3 Targett V Toffolo: both have reprsented England at juniour levels, both aged 26... honours even: PAR 4 Botman v Worrall: Botman is the rookie in comparison to Joe. I think given the formal announcement of Club Captaincy, Joe shades it : Forest 1 under Par after 4. 5 Schar v Niakhate: Close one to call, with Schar having the benefit of 89 games for NUFC in the Prem under his belt. Niakhate is vastly experienced in the Budesliga, but as yet unblooded in the Prem. Has show a lot of class in the friendlies. I think his being 4 years younger at 26 will shade it for Moussa: Forest another 1 under Par... 2 under after 5! 6 Joelinton v McKenna: not a perfect match-out this one, but best I could do! I think Joelinton shades it over McKenna. Newcastle 1 under Par. Forest 1 under after 6. Midfield: 7 St-Maximan v Johnson: both quick, and with an eye for goal, and both can be match-winners on their day. St Maximan probably shades it over Bren because of his experience. Another 1 under for Newcastle. Back to Par after 7. 8 Bruno v O'Brien: Brazillian technical brilliance against English guts and no little skill; honours even: PAR after 8. 9 Anderson v Colback: Ginger Jack will be out to prove something... forget comparative skills here. Forest 1 under Par... 1 Under Par after 9 10 Almiron v Lingard: I've seen Almiron weave magic in some games, and be subbed off as totally ineffective in others; Lingard will be up for this game to prove Talk Spunk and Danny Mills know sweet FA... Forest 1 under; 2 under after 10. Strikers: Wilson v Surridge (or Awoniyi): Wilson is a cracking player: big lad who is good with both feet and his head, plus he has pace and experience at this level. Neither Surridge nor Awoniyi h

  20. just a little thing here.... my little rag tag bunch of weary, mostly old, fellow renault travellers who were occupied with their painfully cramped conditions or mobile phones fell in to complete silence when howe's post match interview came on 5live. my ashley imposed exile included the benitez era so I can't really comment, but I'd be astonished if his post match interviews commanded as much attention as those since keegan or robson. he's articulate, eloquent, thorough and so very, very obviously knowledgeable about his job. love the bloke.

  23. It can look a bit like we’re missing out on loads of targets but I’m not convinced there’s that many we’re in for (or have been). Obviously there’s the kid who went to PSG and Maddison seems to have been the subject of a genuine bid but there’s loads of speculation. Then we’ve got the lad who was registering his kids at a local school to be announced too

  27. Gerrard is not a good manager, he won one thing in 3 years at the huns, and that was because Celtic fell off a cliff and were shit, it’s usually a 2 horse race for anything, even St. Johnstone won more than him. I love it 😀

  29. Have just discovered Forest's matchday thread on their forum - first page (to be read in the voice of a whiny 6 year old) "we're an unknown quantity, people are going to be surprised by how high up the pitch we play, we'll beat these we owe them for 1974 (???). Doubt I need pornhub tonight, the schadenfraude should do for me.

  33. we were by far and away the better team when we played man utd at our place back end of december when howe had only just got his feet under the table. think there's every chance we could finish above them as it stands but with a couple of upgrades on almiron and wood I'd think it was a certainty.

  34. Best thing on MOTD was Villa's defence v Bournemouth. They looked like that thing where someone shouts "SCATTER!" and everyone runs in different directions. At some point this season the press is gonna have to face up to the fact that Gerrard is not a future Liverpool manager.

  39. Anybody else think based on today ASM looks like he may get Howed this season? You can still questions his decision making and end product at times but I thought he seemed to link up better with the team and his overall awareness and passing was improved. Long way to go but some positives there for me.

  44. Just to say what’s already been said mate- hang on in there, there’s no shame in needing some help, especially after all that’s happened. Being aware of your problems is a huge step in addressing them, so take that positive and remember it, when it seems all that you can see are negatives. We all hope you get yourself sorted, well and happily sober as soon as you can.
