They would only be battered because the teams in the Premier League would see them as their cup final. It is hard to play teams who are playing out of their skin, each week, because they know that they are playing Sunderland. We wouldn't understand because we are not the best performing team in the North East, all things considered.9 points

Would you have banned him for saying that to anyone else on here? The answer is no, so you shouldn't have done it for him saying it to you. Get a grip and stop abusing your access to the ban button.4 points

Anyway we need @RobinRobinback for the match, or our streak could come off the rails. (That's sorted) Robin if you could check the little ✉️ on the bottom right of the screen, that's a private message function which I think Andrew wanted to talk you on as he'd taken some offence. We're not a banning community & don't want to be. So behave your fucking selves and enjoy the best football for 20 years3 points

One of the best bits of that comment, aside from the similarity to their Wearside brothers, is it further shows the fucking delusion the Everton fan base has. The implication he’s making is that Eddie Howe is the only difference between the two clubs, which entirely misses the phenomenal job our owners have done - the two clubs are now fucking miles apart, Howe didn’t select these players our recruitment team did, while the turnaround has been at break neck speed it’s not by fluke. It also completely ignores how transformative Howe’s time away from management was to his coaching ability, again though the Everton fan shows similarity to the mackems that his football knowledge is basically if we had him we’d be class regardless of when they got him, the surrounding circumstances, etc. If Howe had went there he’d have been booed, the same way they boo and blame everyone as they have some delusion they’ve been a notable and competitive team over the Premier League era, but they haven’t they’re just a middling PL side along with Villa.3 points

In Andrew’s defence, it was costing nearly £5k every day just to host Robin’s gifs. In a cost of living crisis he’s a luxury we just can’t afford.3 points

The situation wasn’t the same but I think Keegan was a better manager 2nd time round. Or rather potentially better as he was so much more experienced and not as naive. The 4-3-3 he came up with was genuinely innovative when no one else was really playing that way. Chelsea had done it under Mourinho but the wingers were more midfielders who helped their fullbacks out. Viduka through the middle with Owen in a sort of withdrawn inside right role and Martins wide left was three actual forwards. The way he handled the Owen situation too when loads was being made of comments about KK from his autobiography, ie making him captain and getting a tune out of a player short of confidence after losing his pace. Not to mention his realising the potential of Modric3 points

Good read. 👍 One of the comments has a scouse MLF version. Scouse mackems indeed! Barry Gray 24 MIN AGO As an Evertonian living in Bournemouth, the failure of the EFC board to recruit Howe given the numerous opportunities they had shows everything that is wrong within the EFC hierarchy. Howe, (a boyhood Evertonian), worked a modern-day miracle with the Cherries on a tiny budget. He would have been far more considered and circumspect with Moshiri’s money and we might be challenging top 6 today, rather than relegation fodder.3 points

Eddie Howe has tipped Alexander Isak to be ‘like a new signing’ for Newcastle United when he completes his return from a thigh injury. We aren't getting anyone in January. Howe has been mugging us all off. He is the new Steve Bruce.2 points

More mental gymnastics required as RTG were staunchly pro-Ronaldo due to Messi taking the Saudi coin and refs being payed off to let Argentina win the World Cup for that reason despite it being in Qatar. Also funny as Juve have spent the last few weeks blowing smoke up Ronaldo’s arse via their various social media outlets, presumably hoping he might go there for the rest of the season2 points

I don't think we need massive incomings in Jan. Hopefully we could clear some deadwood. I would be happy with some decent cover coming in Jan for Trippier incase he gets injured. That Harrison Ashby from West Ham sounds ideal and well rated but probably take him a while to get up to speed again as his head seemed to have dropped when he didn't get the move in the summer. Obviously central midfield is a bit light for cover at the min. I think there is a decent chance of getting Tielemans. His head did drop when he didn't get his move so if we make an offer would Rogers rather have some money to spend on a replacement or a senior player with his head down for the rest of the season and then likely leave for nowt? I wasn't overly impressed with him when I've seen him but then again see Joe and Miggy under the cabbage and how they are under Eddie. I think we can make it through the rest of the season with the other areas having decent cover. Despite his limitations I think Wood does a good job and gives 100% for the team, especially the high press. With Isak coming back I think we should be grand. I'm not expecting anything massive changes. Hopefully we can keep in the European spots come the end of the season and then have a big selling point to a higher calibre of players in the summer.2 points

We should've got Howard Kendall in at NUFC in the 80s, did a really good job at Everton, (but was a boyhood Mag).2 points

Depends as it might be the best / last chance of getting serious money for them with their contract situations. I think they’d want potential replacements lined up before even considering it though2 points

The established starting XI this season includes 5 new players. Pope, Trippier, Botman, Burn and Bruno. Yes we've spent money, but those 5 collectively cost less than Jack Grealish ffs2 points
