  1. So, there was a thread last week on the SMB about how shit their stadium is, but at the same time ir was mich better than SJP, obviously. A few posters commented about "shit" greenhouse roof on the Milburn and Leazes stands. You know, the one which is an architectural wonder and one of the largest cantilevered atructures in Europe, flooding the stadium with natural light? Anyway, I'm at Centreparcs at the moment but something was nagging me yesterday when I was swimming in the subtropical paradise. Then it struck me. I couldn't help thinking this is alright, but it would be much better if thet replaced the glass roof with corrugated iron, like at the SoL.

  2. Hi, guys. I'm brazillian and have been really interested in Newcastle. At first, I was watching because of Bruno Guimarães, but the renaissance led by Howe at St James Park really got my heart. My take on who Newcastle should sign is - 1) Tielemans - Right Center MF - Leicester/Free Agent I think he should be the priority right now. Newcastle can offer him something Arsenal can't - a starting position in the lineup. Also, he absolutely fits in Howe's system. His crosses make a lot of sense if you consider Isak's aerial plays and Saint Maximin running on the wing. With Trippier already being a threat from there, Tielemans would make such dangerous crosses almost impossible to stop. Also, a lot of potential for Joelinton infiltrations on the box. Tielemans would also come almost for free and could help NUFC to land the CL spot. 2) Marcel Sabitzer - Right Center MF - Bayern Munchen Sabitzer has been playing as a box-to-box midfielder on the left side in Nagelsmann squad to better accomodate Kimmich and Muller. But he really made his name playing on the RCMF position in the RB Leipzig. At Bayern, he has been in a positional struggle competition with Goretzka and Gravenberch. I think he could offer the same qualities Tielemans bring. He wouldn't be as technical, but would bring a little bit more of phisicality. 3) Milinkovic-Savic - Right Center MF (Mezzala Destra) - Lazio To be very honest, SMS would be the best option for Newcastle. But he still have a year and half left on his deal and is a really important player for Lazio. He would cost way more than Tielemans or Sabitzer. Só the cost-benefit wouldn't be so good. In the end, I think Newcastle should sign one of those three in january if we want to compete for a CL spot. 4) Nikola Milenkovic - Centerback - Fiorentina This guy is really good. Tall, stong, can create plays from behind. He's the probable substitute to Milan Skriniar at Inter Milan. He would be a steal and guarantee the solid state of NUFC defense. I do see an amazing potential for a Botman-Milenkovic or Schar-Milenkovic centerback duo. Defense has been our greatest asset and a young qualified players who would come for a nice price would be really good. 5) Juranovic - Rightback - Celtic Juranovic did an amazing World Cup. Destroyed Brazil in the process. Was in the team of the tournament in Scotland and would probably come for a fee between 8-15 mi, if the reports are true. He would be the perfect player to assure NUFC of a solid RB even if something happens to Trippier. 6) Claudinho - Attacking Midfielder - Zenit You heard from me first. This guy has prime Coutinho level skills. Look at his match against Chelsea in the Champions League, his 2021 Olympics or his time in RB Bragantino when he was playing in Brazil. Would bring better football than Paquetá - who's a little bit overhyped because he was a kid star from Brazil's biggest football club, Flamengo - and would cost way less. Basically, a Coutinho without the pedigree of coming from a big football club. If Newcastle could make this signings, I think they could land Tielemans, Claudinho, Juranovic and Milenkovic for something between £ 60-80 mi in the january transfer window.

  5. Has Toonpack done enough for the big job? Does he want it anyway? Can his retinas survive? Tune in next time to find out.

  6. 'FURY as lucky London based Mag retires without consultation from match thread start ups and infighting as Scottish and Texan influenza, infowars, err, fan, toonpack takes over without even more not consulting and the five burning questions this means for fan confidence ahead of tonight's clash of Howe's high flying magpies against Arteta's the men who would be kings.'

  7. You know how local journos often trawl forums to gauge fan sentiment? I really hope they're doing that with this thread and trying to figure out what the fuck's going on.

  10. Just had a look on SMB to get an unbiased view of our game😏 two comments stand out Don't care if they're 3rd in the Prem, if this is how they play we're a much better side to watch Barcodes are proper shite & dirty. At full strength, on our day I'd back us to beat them

  12. Out of the goodness of my heart (following Meenzer's exit) I started a thread for a VERY tricky fixture, to save others from that weight of task and the psychological damage it could cause. But what do you do in thanks for that selfless act, you pile scorn and negative vibes onto it, if we do not get a result it is ON YOU, you miserable negative Nellie bastards, with your petty hexes. SO - If we win tonight, you can all fuck off if you think I'm starting another match thread, which in turn means I'll be responsible (by omission) for the next result. A weight I am willing to bear (again) but a bit of a Catch 22 for the Toontastic creche.

  13. Neville: ‘Newcastle brought on Saint Maximin and Wood but Arteta didn’t have that luxury’. How much has Arteta spent?!?!?

  14. How little attention has Botman gotten from the media btw? If VVD had been putting in these performances they'd be wanking themselves silly. Young defender with zero Premier league experience comes in and makes everything look so easy. He's an absolute gem.

  16. They had a lot of posession and we were hanging on a bit of course but there were no really clear cut chances were there? The save from Pope with his leg perhaps? This is bordering on the absurd now. Top 4 challenge is one thing, we've just gone away to the current runaway league leaders and gotten completely under their skin. The effort from the lads was immense again.

  17. Can see arsenal bottling it, which would be nice given Arteta was doing his best to make Klopp look like a decent bloke

  18. Still undefeated. Schär was fucking immense throughout too, so much so that I felt the need to include the ä.

  19. I guarantee Toonpack has fucked things up. Once Meenzer retired, the obvious answer was for the one and only, named in the thread title for the unbeaten run, yours truly to pick up the baton, but the silly sausage, gridiron-loving FOOL who thought Trippier was banned not only cut in, but he SPECIFICALLY minused the one and only, named in the thread title for the unbeaten run, yours truly in the thread title. I honestly won't be surprised if one of ours breaks their leg tonight such is the CURSE he's cast on all our houses. We'll need Uri Geller to sort this shit out.

  26. So that’s every team played once and we’ve lost only once. Cheated at fucking Anfield. And we’re the only team to prevent Arsenal scoring. absolutely fantastic result for us.

  27. That Roker Mackem spouts some pure, unadulterated shite like. He’s the one who had is getting relegated this season. That was based on the stat he made up whereby no team had ever stayed up with as little possession as we had last season. Cue our good run up to and after the World Cup and we were going to win the league. Now we’re raging after a home draw against Leeds. The stupid fucking cunt is so blinkered regarding us that he can’t even agree with himself

  29. It's kind of funny. They get so wound up about us for a club that's "got no chance of finishing top 4" and "will do worse next season" and will make "inevitable awful signings" etc etc They're in absolute pieces. Anyway they've got our match to look forward to tonight. They'll cheer any arsenal goal louder than any mackem goal outside of a derby. They're not botha'd thorgh marra, am tellin ya!

  31. utter nonsense, exposing how little you've posted around here until relatively recently. i took us on a famous and lengthy unbeaten run during the bruce era, that included some of the most offensive match thread titles going. in fact, i may have started that particular tradition. naturally i stepped aside when the unbeaten run came to an end. what that little sequence did establish however was the need to retain the existing match thread starter as long as the unbeaten run was going. a rule which toonpack has flagrantly broken.

  32. As much as it is appreciated, what the fuck is happening with the boolean syntax in the thread title? Is is it minus (Gemmill AND Trips). Or is is minus Gemmill but PlUS Trips? Now I am smart enough to know the answer and it is implied with the last part of the title, but this type of carelessness for such a crucial game is simply unacceptable, especially now you've outed yourself as a white background user. 3/10.
