  3. “….the less relevant we become…” And that sums it up - they’re totally fucking irrelevant yet somehow think they’re indispensable to the PL. They don’t understand they became irrelevant to the PL the moment they were relegated. Where does this sense of entitlement come from? Non-existent in Europe, they were bottom half fodder endlessly circling the drain during their time in the PL. Nobody misses them, nobody cares, they might be a cup final in L2 but in the PL they’re nobodies. What makes them so special? The bang average flatpack stadium built on landfill with a wannabe name stolen from a famous club? The bitter and ungrateful fans that hound out manager after manager? The free tickets they dole out to try to fill up the place? The made up nickname chosen via a poll? The track record of abject failure and mediocrity? No, what makes them special (the ones who post this shit on RTG) is weapons grade delusion coupled with an astounding level of stupidity, and possibly a glue habit…

  4. There he is, displaying the type of honesty you’d expect from a bloke bucking anything with a pulse while his wife was dying of cancer 👍🏻 Imagine selling your soul to Mike Ashley for a fashion brand so tawdry and tatty that the average sports direct punter wouldn’t even buy it. An absolute fucking shambles of a bloke.

  6. Apart from needing a time limit on decisions, the other thing I said about VAR is that the officials looking at it in a screen are the ones who should overturn any decisions (if they decide the ref has made an error). On several occasions this season you’ve had situations where the ref has made the correct decision or has made arguably the correct call on a marginal decision. Only then to be asked to have a look at something again. This inevitably sows the seed of doubt in the ref’s mind. They then have to look at a screen and quickly reconsider their position. Looking at replays someone else has chosen, with the added pressure of doing it pitch side in front of the crowd. So you have the VAR official who has gotten involved when they shouldn’t have but then they don’t even take ultimate responsibility for that. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of the refereeing is poor but, in this instance, they’re being hung out to dry. It’s ridiculous

  10. So the silly twats are trying to think of possible meanings for FTM which they can use to get around this ban by the shady Tyneside cabal. Anyway, the funniest bit was when the conversation went something like this: "Whey man marra. How com its alright for TFI Fryardayys to get away with it like?" "Exactly marra. Wayait, isn't if TGI Fryardayys marra?" Thick as whale spunk. .

  14. Wenger was walking along the quayside talking to everyone when Arsenal stayed at the hotel du vin one year, can you imagine if he'd decided to go the other way? Within five minutes he'd be at the bottom of Shields road, another couple of minutes he'd be outside the butcher's arms. (There but for the grace of God).

  19. Just caught up on MotD myself, I've never seen anything like that Brighton game. Three penalties denied incorrectly and two goals that should have been allowed to stand ruled out. It absolutely reeks of corruption somewhere, you can't possibly get it that wrong, that many times in such a short space of time and be doing your honest best to be right. I can see why the penalty for Brentford was given, but it's not consistently done or we'd have had a handful of other pens this season which is what grates. The handball law being shite has done us for the Wilson one. Theres no way you can say, after a flicked header that came to him quick and hit his arm (in a natural position as they say) which is then contested by both striker and defender trying to get control was done with any intent by Wilson, the fact he came out on top of that contest is the only reason anything at all was given and that isn't how those calls should be made. VAR is a tool and like any tool it is only as good as those operating it, the refereeing in the Premier League is scandalously poor, PGMOL is not fir for purpose. It's got to the point where Howard Webbs apology letters are basically a meme within a season of them becoming a thing at all.

  20. I'm not sure if this genuine paranoia about them being ruled by black and white bastards is unique. A club and city so utterly defined by their neighbours to the extent their sole reason for existence is schadenfreude on said neighbours. Nearest I can think of is in Glasgow with Rangers and Celtic, where there was genuine masonic oppression occurring over the Catholic workforce. But that was absolutely real (historically, not so much now). And Celtic aimed to beat Rangers, not vicariously pray for their defeat by a third party. Liverpool and Manchester might be another come to think about it, with Liverpool being geographically disadvantaged and resenting the unofficial title Manchester has of capital of the North. Tbh I think they've got a point though, and anyway it's a proper rivalry at a regional level. Once you understand that a sizable amount of mackems really do believe "Never be ruled by black and white bastards" it just falls into place that we are just and righteous in calling them sad mackem bastards. They're ridiculously paranoid over everything; inward investment, infrastructure, the airport, the metro, and now even their own club. Its actually quite detrimental to the whole region. We'll never get devolution because those sad bastards simply won't accept Newcastle is the de facto regional capital and we need to play to that. And thus the resentment goes both ways, but is much more unhealthy from the mackems and this is now amplified a hundred fold by the massive gulf in the football clubs currently. What're you going to do? Me, I like just laughing at them. It's a perfect tonic and just makes our success all the more enjoyable.

  21. Now I don't want to be petty. Alright I do. We have a point more than the mackems with a massively superior GD. We've played 29 games compared with their 40 games. Hmm, what else? Oh yeah, we are third in the PREMIERSHIP whilst those losers are in the second tier.

  27. For those worrying about facing Nee Baals's Beige Brigade, I've looked at their last 7 games (where they've seemingly become world beaters) and our last 7 games. I've considered their xP (it's a thing, deal with it) compared to their actual points, and ours. And I've applied a colour scale so you can see at a glance how close the performances have actually been to the results. Ignore the figures in the "Diff" column that are greyed out - I've not included negative figures (where the club has got fewer xP than actual points) to avoid the negatives messing with the colour scale. First thing to point out is that Villa are running 6.5 points ahead of expectation over the last 7 games. Which is a canny bit and much higher than our 2.03, which basically all came from us mugging Brentford yesterday. Villa did the same against Chelsea - managing an xP of only 0.39 but running out 2-0 winners. Which btw, is the only time they played a "big" team in this recent run. Compare that with us picking up 2.91 xP against Man United - basically a MURDER of a team better than any they've played recently. In fact, all of our wins against everyone bar Brentford have been very convincing, as evidenced by the difference between xP and actual being really less than half a point for all of them. Anyway, hopefully you can see there's a lot more red on Villa's side than on ours. In other words, Villa's results have been a lot less convincing than ours when you look behind the scoreline, and a few of them could quite easily have gone the other way - i.e. their form isn't as good as it looks. Ours is. Which is why they're getting fucking LACED next Saturday. Get ready for ANOTHER relaxing win.

  28. Aye he was honestly one of the worst ones tbh, he went out his way to slate the fan base and not just ignorantly defend Ashley but tried to bend facts to make it look like Ashley was a good owner. A lot of the others just went a long and regurgitated shite because they’re lazy cunts obsessed with the same few sides, Neville and Carragher prime examples of that iyam, whereas Ferdinand had another agenda due to his tragic cheap tat he was selling through Ashley’s clothing land fills.

  29. You can add that we didn't get a Webb apology for the Forest debacle - I'm guessing because again it didn't affect the result.

  32. Botman is young, he will learn. He's been immense on the whole, think how badly some established defenders have struggled after moving to this league. I'm more worried about Pope. His shot saving continues to be superb no doubt. But its heart in the mouth time almost every single time he gets the ball at his feet. Isak is something else like. Far from the finished article, he lost the ball in good moments today for instance, but he just has so much to his game. A very complete player who has the ability to do something special out of nothing as well. Stunning finish again today. The strange part for me was that as Wilson rolled the ball to him, I thought he's going to score, he's got the ability to score those week in week out. Henryesque in the way he moves and takes the ball on.

  33. The match. Superb Pope. Superb. He kept us in the game in the first half. I didn't like the first part at all. Toney always hurts us a lot. The team played badly. He was asleep. We never had dominance. The second part is another story. Turning around a game like this, difficult, like a big team that knows how to play in these games. The negative: I love Botman, but I think that when he trusts himself and thinks he is better than he is, he makes very serious mistakes. Today he got one. And this year he has had a few more. They are few, but they are serious. He needs to have his feet on the ground. Maybe some competition wouldn't hurt. The positive: Howe said that Wilson and Isak could play together... And boy. They can. Today they have shown it. In addition, the two are in a very good moment. Without Almiron and Maxi, I think I would have them start the next game, with Willock behind them. Isak is in better shape every day. I think he can mark an era in this club.
