I'd feel more comfortable about us losing the ability to manufacture virgin steel if we were part of a pan-european union rather than an isolated Billy no mates island mind. Net zero set by country is bollocks too. Importing high quality steel will clearly have a worse effect than if we made our own. Net zero should be measured as much on consumption as production.

You could say the same about virtually everything he says though. All his commentary is predicated on what he’d do / what would happen knowing full well he’s never going to be in a position to deliver or even influence policy. It kind goes without saying that if it were as simple as selling who we wanted to sell for a price that made sense then most of that lot would already be gone.

I’d rather Targett, Hendrick, Krafh, Dummett, Murphy, Burn, Karius, Lascelles, Dubrakva, Gillespie, Hall,Longstaff, Fraser and Hayden were sold before Trips and Wilson.

Of all the players on the "list" of saleable assets I think Tripps and Wilson are the right type. The right balance of ability and age to get good transfer fees, lower the wage bill meaningfully, and avoid losing players with capacity to improve and lose players before they decline and their sale value evaporates. It's still quite novel to be able to rationalise and see the logic to our transfer activity. Agree or disagree, at least it makes sense.

That last points the key one for me. Anyone leaving will be sold with a view to using the money to improve, which is just NOT how its been for us in decades. The owners dont want or need to take any money out, they only want to be the biggest club they can.
