Howe’s formation with this set of players would work really well imo. I’ve thought a few times the ‘double pivot’ is too cautious, especially against teams looking to sit deep and hit England on the break. I could elaborate but I can’t be arsed / don’t care enough5 points

"Howe's teams deploy high pressing and basically he'd only pick players that play that way" followed closely by: "I'd love to see an England in his style" - Referring to Klopp, a manager who's teams adopt high pressing and would only pick players that play that way. Fucking morons Also, the same cunts crying that Howe has won nowt despite spending an alleged fortune are wanking themselves daft over Klopp who has won one of each trophy despite spending considerably more than Howe5 points

Once this is out the way I think you’ll see them being more like their true selves. I.e. supporting whoever England are playing4 points

Newcastle United never have to worry about Eddie Howe leaving the club as we have a ready made replacement. "I think I could put a half decent team together with 8 x £50M players and the likes of Wilson, Almiron, Joelinton (another £100M) and others already at the club" Keith will no doubt bring in the superstar Excile to replace Bruno. https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/eddie-howe.1634980/page-34 points

That's right! And all jokes aside commiserations @Dazzler and to any lurkers from Ed's blog still checking in. Always sad to lose a member of the NUFC community and to lose someone as dedicated to the cause as Ed after a long battle with illness must be tough. All the best. ❤️4 points

Next series of STID we'll get introduced to this prick. He'll have put these seats in his living room in front of the telly.4 points

Reform are essentially just killing the conservatives as a parliamentary force. In return for one seat. I can live with that. They’re fucking horrid but it is what it is. It’s a quirk of FPTP and might even be the beginning of the much needed electoral reform process. The other thing about Reform is that they’re a protest vote for the disaffected. If they merge with conservatives they lose that dubious appeal and what does Farage have to offer? 1 seat? If you join the two parties together you lose support imo. You don’t combine the two. If you’re still voting Tory at this point then Reform holds little appeal. And vice versa.3 points

Sounds a bit like me although in my case the neighbours are as global thinking as myself.3 points

I don’t think he’d be interested. Being on a select committee would be too much like hard work. But it’s done on proportion of seats anyway. If Labour have a huge majority, as expected, they may allow more diversity in terms of other parties having more than their fair share if you like. But as 1/650th of MPs, Reform would have no right to his being a member of one. Let alone a chair of one. Chairs are also, by convention, meant to be representative of the amount of seats parties have. He could make a case for being a representative on one such committee. But his party in the commons (should he by the sole mp) would have much less of a case to argue this than even, say for example, Plaid or the DUP.3 points

They’re predicting reform will win there. But also that it’ll be their only seat. I don’t really think it’ll change his position as serial grifter much at all. He certainly won’t be interested in doing a job for his constituents in any meaningful way.3 points

I wonder if she remembers the conversation we had upstairs in the Trent about Wuthering Heights. I doubt it though as she was fucking bladdered. So much so I just got her a coke a couple of times when she asked for a double vodka and coke and she didn’t even notice.3 points

It does become a concern when he's everywhere on the airwaves. The bloke is a proven snake oil salesman, and he's very good at it. He'll start brainwashing the dopes from all age groups if he's given enough air time. I still think he's destined to only ever be a fringe character, but he's a fringe character that's given far too much exposure by the media in the name of ratings. They get him on to say mental shit, and then punish right thinking presenters for calling it out when he says mental shit.3 points

I think he's a very prudent signing. Hopefully better player than Burn, certainly better than Dummett on a free transfer which allows us the freedom to make a £60m bid for Olise (which unfortunately I can't see happening but still it shows we have the funds). What's not to be willy wave about?3 points

A bit worried at how low Labour are in that poll. Definitely don't want reform getting any more support. Nearly one in five voters is a gullible racist prick is my message from this.3 points
