  4. What else has changed? Are you serious? Isak, Botman, Tino, Tonali, Bruno, Gordon, Barnes, Isak, Hall, training ground completely revamped, a cup final, getting into the champions league, massively improving our sponsorship deals, a new fan park, Adidas as a sponsor, an Amazon documentary, buying kids we can sell for £35mil, one of the best managers in the league, turning Joelinton and Schar into world beaters....but aye, apart from that nowt has changed

  5. The whole business is ridiculous and taking a lot of joy out of football for me. It’s ok trying to stop clubs just "buying" success, but basically forcing clubs with enough money to sell players just to comply with arbitrary regulations is plain bollocks. So we need to sell a prodigy like Anderson or an untried talent like Minteh in time of an arbitrary deadline just to probably be able to spunk absurd money on another player in the upcoming weeks. That’s without thinking about us needing to consider to sell untouchable assets to big six rivals. I am done with this. I unfollowed all journalists and won’t care about transfers. I will see what players will be there in August and then hopefully start to enjoy watching matches. But there is no excitement left thinking about how we will build a decent squad.

  8. I would have thought that the most convenient solution would be selling a player like Almiron to a Saudi club. No doubt the hypocrites in the media would go off it. But we’ve largely avoided doing it so far. ASM was sold at market value (arguably below) and plenty other clubs have done similar. Something like £25m would not be too far off. Transfermkt has him at €20m. I’m sure a club that isn’t owned by PIF could be ‘persuaded’ just to make it all look above board. Two years there and he could go home absolutely loaded

  9. It's a fucking joke that has to boilover eventually. However we've come out of it OK IMO. Anderson is hardworking and talented and whilst it sucks to see him go he'd have been unlikely to have got much playing time this season unless we were hit with a similar injury crisis to last season (perhaps worse because Tonali is back). He hasn't yet realised the potential he has shown and would have been unlikely to with limited time on the pitch. Minteh, it would have been great to bring him in, exactly why you try to sign and develop the best and brightest youth talent but not to be. We have to ride out a few more seasons like this but as our profile grows and our youth investment continues we'll find ourselves able to sell more effectively with less impact on the first team. And anyone we sign will be youngish and on lengthy contracts.

  10. Tragic how Anderson got robbed from scoring a goal for us multiple times.

  21. I’ve always said he is average. You’ve flip flopped from wanting him in the England team to being worse than Billy Askew. i just don’t criticise him for every bad pass in a game. He actually tries his best and was clearly playing through an injury last season. Overall though he needs replacing alongside Almiron. I suspect the entire fan base knows this though.

  22. I’m only seeing the highlights now but I don’t see how either decision is controversial. Offside is offside and whether it’s an inch or a mm it’s offside. With the penalty he had his hand out beyond his body and that’s a penalty by today’s laws. Nothing controversial at all imo. Full disclosure: I have Germany in the sweepstake.

  27. Get Kane off now btw. He's clearly not fit, and making him do 120 minutes is not gonna help.

  35. The silly cunt has been demonising immigrants for years. Boris laughed at letterbox burkas and he had nothing to say about it. The Tories have done more to introduce Racism back into the mainstream in the last 14 years than anyone else. They've laid the groundwork for Reform to do what they are doing

  36. Circa £35 million for Anderson evidently, serious money for someone, who if everyone was fit, wouldn't get near the team.

  37. Don’t be silly, you just knock up a new training ground in a few months nowadays man. I honestly thought it would take us winning loads of stuff before our fans became insufferable entitled cunts. The progress since the new owners has been pretty monumental.

  38. It's a real shame for him personally, but I'll be amazed if he ends up good enough for where we want to get to.

  39. I’m absolutely gutted for Anderson. A young Newcastle fan that dreamed of playing for his home town club an no doubt doesn’t want to leave. Now we are out of Europe his game time would have been less but I’m sure the aim would be to get back in next year. He can cover loads of positions and looks like Eddie rated him. Sadly he has been the sacrificial lamb. I would have rather got rid of Longstaff or a load of the dross but I’m sure we tried.

  40. he was robbed of a perfectly legitimate header by VAR wasn’t he? The other thing killing the game
    3 points
  41. Yeah, if you park whatever we think about the players who need to be sold to comply with this nonsense, you have to feel for Anderson. He’s just broken through into the first team squad of his hometown club, was injured for most do the season then just as he started to get a few games the club are forced to sell him to “balance the books”. Bullshit
