Brothers funeral today, liver is going to take a beating worse than Arsenal later12 points

Absolutely delighted to see that they think they've been hard done to. Also I don't know what Slot said to the ref, but he went up to him, shook his hand and said something, and as soon as Michael Oliver had his hand back he produced the red card. So the stupid cunt has obviously thought he can make himself look like a great bloke for the cameras whilst sticking the boot in on the ref. Shiny headed knob.11 points

Slot showing himself to be Klopp V 2.0 when under pressure. Imagine if him or Legoheed had to put up with the hand ball decision in Paris last season…6 points

You'd think there'll be some FA charges hoyed about after that. A 20 point deduction for both clubs seems reasonable.6 points

It was reminiscent of the prolonged handshake between Conte & Tuchel a few years back. I suspect he's likely suggested partiality towards Everton, so rightly sent off. VVD can fuck off too. Whatever you think about Doucoure's decision to celebrate in front of the red dippers, if he's going to condemn his actions, he needs to do likewise with their own fans. I'm glad it happened - the Merseyside derby in recent years / decades has become a bit of a damp squib. Needed some fire. Well done Doucoure!5 points

Saw someone make a great point about all the NW and Southern refs who've shafted us through the years and barely a peep from anyone, Manchester refs doing our games at old Trafford, local refs doing our game at Chelsea, Merseyside refs doing our games at Anfield and this is fine. A NE based ref does any game these days that doesn't involve NUFC at all and there's conspiracy theories flying all over the place particularly from the usual fans of the entitled clubs. Suck it fucking up.5 points

The fact that they are kicking off over the timing of the equaliser when they were saved by the ref vs us in very similar circumstances makes this all the sweeter for me. It's a shame it was against Everton, mind. Also a shame the demo crew didn't come into flatten the ground immediately after the match while the two sets of players were in an ice bath.4 points

When I saw the red tear stained complaints about the equaliser being after the match should have ended I thought they may have already been kicking off even before the celebration malarkey. The on pitch rivalry stuff is good for the game (the bottled from the crowd not so much) and even if there's loads of hyperbole around it it still makes it a somewhat fitting way for the last derby at Goodison to go. Just watched it, incredibly harsh that Doucoure got a second yellow for gesturing for the Liverpool supporters to shoosh before Jones shoved him in the back and kicked things off (from what I saw saw). Jones should have got a straight red rather than a second yellow. If Jones doesn't do that it doesn't kick off. I'm fine with Doucoure shooshing the Liverpool supporters, I'm certain he was copping 10 times worse all game and in retrun at the end. If I was Everton I'd be appealing his card for sure. If they do we can look forward to Liverpool's recap of the event where they'll highlight that Jordan Pickford was gratuitously parading about with a Culture Club hoodie.4 points

Basically your classic VAR atmosphere ruining joy sucker of a check. Mind, having seen Man United go through to the next round of the cup from a goal where 3 of their players were offside, I'm not sure we should be going back.4 points

I've got a mate who was at someone's house party and Michael Oliver was there. He reckons he spent the whole night anytime anyone approached him with a look on his face that said "You got me. Yes I'm THAT Michael Oliver."4 points

Imagine resting the entire team at the weekend getting knocked out the cup by PLYMOUTH and still not winning on the Wednesday? Everton taught the mackems everything they know…they’d give a kidney to stop Liverpool winning the title4 points

The whole boyband thing is traditionally built on exploitation by older blokes with varying degrees of dodginess about them. Walsh, Lou Pearlman, all the way back to Tam Paton with the Bay City Rollers. It's pretty grim.3 points

No, exactly. I was and still am a massive fan of the so called founders of Brit Pop, Suede, and they have fuck all to do with this movement in reality. Why weren't bands like Radiohead and the Manics classed as Brit Pop? It's not a musical movement, there is no coherence here. But for me the time did have a zeitgeist feel to it which I miss. Whether it was genuinely better or just because I was young I don't know. Also coincided with the best NUFC team ever. If I had to distil the whole feeling into a single song it would be Arab Strap's "First Big Weekend of Summer" which is identifiably set 14th to 16th June 1996. Never liked Blur or Oasis. Loved Pulp, though I I'd be amazed if there are not some dodgy skeletons in Cocker's wardrobe that will one day fall out. Talking of zeitgeist's though, Albarn perfectly captured the feeling of Brexit in the Good, the Bad, and the Queen in "Merrieland". A feeling of insularity, decay, nostalgia, undertones of racism. He's one artist that has become more relevant with increasing age.3 points

I saw some of Musk in the Oval Office BTW. Standing with his weird, steepled fingers stance that no normal human adopts, with his wanker's hat about 4 inches above the top of his head, and his weird, pale, pinched face and his permanently shocked eyebrows. He looked like a Michael Jackson impersonator who'd been disturbed halfway through getting ready.3 points

By the way @Meenzer, those Finnish chaps Sammy recommended to me in the music thread ( Gentlemen Losers), are gloriously melancholic in an a way only Scandinavians can be. I can totally picture them sitting in the sauna, whipping themselves with birch twigs, just after finishing another album. “ Well Stig, thåts another album done” ” Joo” ” Would you like some pickled fish” ”Joo” ” Shall we watch Pingu?” ” Nøot Nøot!”3 points

aye, exactly. Coined by the music press to create a bit of buzz around indie bands, many of which had fuck all in common, musically. There was loads of good guitar music kicking around in the 90s, but I’m biased because I was a teenager and it was the soundtrack to good times3 points

Yeah. I think so. Basically lazy, London-centric journalism. Did Pulp really have anything in common with Oasis? For example.3 points
