Of course its a huge win for Putin, who let us not forget, is a literal war criminal. Apparently the area of Ukraine that is rich in rare earth metals is the Donbas, which Russia will keep and sell in a deal with Donny. We have to be brave now. Europe has to forget its differences and join together. An EU army, or NATO sans the US. Militarily, the Russians are nothing to be scared of. They spent 3 years and a million troops taking 100 km of land in a practically developing country. Russia has a lower GDP than the UK. Western Europe need not fear them if we are united. Stand by Ukraine, don't let Russia dictate their fate. Don't let their murdered soldiers and citizens die in vain. Canada should distance itself from the US. Join the EU, why not? An equal partner in forward thinking, progressive, culturally advanced group of nations, or the subservient bitch of a debased society led by an orange psychopath? Boycott American goods. They're shite anyway. Go to the US and their beer and cheese is rank, their beef is full of hormones. Their cars are shit, their planes literally fall out the sky. Fuck me, they even ruined chocolate. Turn off their social media in Europe, which is the only thing they really export (well, that and weapons) with the added bonus of stopping our kids' brains turning to blancmange. If you work for a US company, tell them to get fucked. The US is big but not big enough to survive by itself. Bring the fuckers to heel. Will you join me comrades?6 points

Looking at the way Trump utterly ignored him whilst announcing “Peace talks”, I sincerely hope Zelensky takes a hard line regarding Russian territorial theft of Ukrainian lands, including Crimea. The whole reason for this war is Putin’s desire for a Black Sea port for Russia. I doubt Zelensky will have much choice but to cede some land, but I’d really hope he gets Crimea back. Fuck Putin, Fuck Trump. It also a looks like a European peace keeping force will be installed, will Russia be made to pay any kind of reparations? Will it fuck. This is a win for Putin6 points

courtesy of @slbsn on twitter... So no further changes to PSR whilst the on-going APT case continues. The quote below seems to summarise the Premier League's new position yesterday. Which is ironic because this was actually a quote from City's General Counsel's letter to all the other clubs before the November APT vote. 16/20 voted to pass the further rules then. @trevormfisher on twitter ... Interesting to note PL and Arsenal friendly journalist Ziegler's framing here, the rules are now 'controversial'. A subtle but I think important shift. Also hidden away at the end of this article is the is news "Gary Hickinbottom KC as its (The PL's) new chairman of its judicial panel, replacing Murray Rosen KC" So Rosen been fired. Probably for being shredded by City's legal team over and over again. ps. i think i've found the right thread for my distracting city centric finance stuff5 points

Hi team Hope this is okay to post. I interviewed Darren Jackson for The Meadowbank Thistle Podcast this week, and part one is out now - discussing his early career, his move to Newcastle in 1986 and his two years with the club. I have another opportunity to put questions to him before part two, so if anyone has any memories, stories or questions about his time with you guys I'd be very happy to ask him. Thanks, Morgan Spotify: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-meadowbank-thistle-podcast/id1794892143?i=10006920698564 points

Went with Ma Fist to the doc to get her results from the 24 tube in her stomach test. Very positive outcome- she’s finally got a diagnosis and, as a result, has been put on a course of treatment for it. Doc reckons it’s possible she’ll see improvement within 24hrs. She’s been diagnosed with Oesophageal Dysmotility- basically her Oesophagus has been going in to spasm, preventing most food from reaching her stomach. She’s so relieved to finally know what’s causing her bother, and have a treatment for it, she got a little emotional when he told her. Fingers crossed now.4 points

Dont forget nearly 40+ years of Tory rule has obliterated the “we’re in this together” ethos of the Welfare State and made it ok to be “I’m alright Jack, fuck you with a rusty stick”. Anyone receiving benefits of any kind is now seen as “a bludger” and a “drain on tax payer funds”. Never mind that the Tory cunts spreading this do everything in their power to avoid paying taxes.4 points

Same day it was reported the economy was performing better than expected and had avoided recession wasn’t it too? Obviously that’s a less important story related to the Chancellor though4 points

He was one that thought Sunday Supplement was basically the modern day version of Greek philosophers gathering in the Lyceum. Him and The Bison trading blows. Shame he's died though, was he that old?3 points

Plus social media means everyone thinks their opinion matters now. Relatedly, I genuinely think most Brits have no sense of how many people 70 million is and therefore how unimportant they and their problems (perceived or otherwise) really are.3 points

They'll have to have cameras set up in everyone's houses to track this. Valentines day 2026. A man and woman engage in the act of lovemaking. "He's holding steady. I repeat his rhythm is steady." "Oh god, his face is straining. He's turning red." "That son of a bitch just finished on her back. Breach!"3 points

Mrs. F. and I have been discussing this issue tonight, she has a degree in politics and is very switched on with regards to this, but is also as crazy as a bag of frogs, in general day-to-day matters. She’s worried that our son, who turns 15 this summer, might end up being called up to go to Ukraine as part of the peacekeeping force. I probably didn’t help by saying that if conscription was to be reintroduced, it wouldn’t just be for young lads. That would be discriminatory, and, in line with current armed forces practices, both male and female citizens of age would be called up. By “probably didn’t help”, I actually mean “Fuck me, I wish I’d just said , ‘nah, won’t happen’ instead of being honest” All this whilst gripping a rose between my teeth and helicoptering the Owld Fella to try and salvage some Valentine’s Day romance. Not happening tbh2 points

Does he think that team he played in could've kicked on from 8th IF Gazza and Goddard had been added to instead of sold? Did he wear that long curly perm he had early on as a bet? (I swear it went down to his arse from memory?) The only time I really fancied us to win the cup was when Wimbledon knocked us out and won it instead, did he witness Mirandinha kicking Dave Beasant up the arse after the game and how'd it go between them when we signed Beasant a few months later?2 points

It wasn't that quick tbh, taken a few decades of dumbing down the population, first via simplification of previously thought provoking TV shows (see Panorama as as an example, it became like playshool compared to what it was) then along came social media which turbocharged the descent of populations into thick cuntistan.2 points
-
That's an easy one. Collectively, people are fucking thick as pig shit in the 21st century and have lost all capacity to think critically. They want to be spoon fed solutions to life's problems - and are too fucking stupid to comprehend that complex problems require complex solutions. Enter populist scumbags who tell them that the reason they can't see a doctor, or can't find work is due to evil foreigners and the solution to the problem is really fucking simple: get rid of them.2 points
-
True, don't know how it got so bad, so quick. I just need to win my Omaze house, get stocked up on tinned food, and spend the extra cash they give you on barbed wire and a machine gun post, and I'm sorted. 👍2 points

Sad thing is, odds are Albo our PM, is going to get beat by our cunty wannabe Trump, potato head Dutton, in our elections around April/May - world is fucking mad atm, people are just selfish arses, that all think they are going to be million/billionaires, how are they so dumb that they cannot see these cunts don't want them?2 points

I'm easy. But I am not sure it's appropriate as a valentines day gift tbh. The wife still isn't speaking to me.2 points

When Mrs Rents started working for the yanks that was also true, and true for me. Then they effectively froze our pay to bring us back in line with UK peer companies, with worse T&Cs. Also, you will be on half what an equivalent position is on over there. Traitor.2 points

That final point feels like a very personal call to arms. But the yanks are presently paying me well above my market rate - and my socialism gives way to my greed 100% of the time .2 points
