just a few thoughts from me, sure they've all been covered already but... hadn't originally intended going to this one, but so pleased I did now, a proper rollercoaster and not all of it particularly pleasant. but then it always had the potential to be so after what preceded it. it's hard to knock isak but I think it's reasonable to say he probably should've had a hat trick before the goal he did score, that said mind had we had the game wrapped up in the 1st half brentford would've had cause to be pissed off because I didn't think we were anywhere near our best. as has been the case on several occasions at home this season it had all the hallmarks of being another game where we throw the 3 points away and we so very nearly did. and then.... I mean, I was in the gallowgate, so canny far away and me eyes aren't as good as they used to be but even so, it took a second or two to start celebrating because of disbelief and rubbing the old orbs to make sure they were still functioning. a goal to win any fucking football match deserved or not and intended or not. I don't care that tonali has subsequently said it was 70% cross, it was a fucking thunderbolt that supermac would've been proud of and a one you'll always remember witnessing. fucking tremendous.9 points

"70% cross" according to Tonali. Spoken like a true Betfair aficionado.6 points

Yes. I think their model assumes they can move on senior players on long term contracts like Mudryk for decent fees, and make a fat profit on some of the junior players they've been stockpiling. If they can't do that and there's no CL football, they'll have a huge wage bill, a bloated and disaffected squad, and not enough income to cover their losses. Here's hoping 🤞6 points

I always wonder why rag papers or fake ITKs make up transfers rumours involving swap deals. They almost literally never happen. Feels like the football news equivalent of ragebait articles that old people share with each other on Facebook to get all wound up about nothing. Tonali getting swapped for seven Udinese players. Modern shower heads come pre-installed with hidden sachets of harmful brainwashing chemicals. Disgusting! Fuckin' how dare they!5 points

There's decline everywhere which is more noticeable the older you are, seeing Wallsend high street and Shields road genuinely saddens me enough without some clever cunt trying to take the piss so they can try to earn enough from YouTube to be lazy bastards.5 points

It's AI. If you look closely it's got Renton's fingerprints all over it.4 points

Love how sky gets the graphics lad to display the rules up to condemn the tackle, I can think of a few times that graphic might've been shown on our behalf but you'll be lucky if you get a 'he maybe got away with one there' before moving on and forgetting about it.4 points

And Diaz was offside in the build up to their goal. If this is given Isak’s disallowed goal in the final should’ve been too4 points

One against Sheff Wed away comes to mind which was towards the corner. I remember Trevor Francis commentating saying he couldn't have meant it - bitter, jealous cunt that he was. Beardsley's post match comment to the "did you mean it" question was "Anyone who knows me knows I did".4 points

Thoroughly enjoyed the game tonight, especially having a great view of Tonali's winner, despite being sat in front of Thomas Frank's Wansbeck Army who appeared to think NUFC were worse than Jim Smith's 90/91 vintage. He didn't even celebrate the winner.4 points

UK hit with 10% tariffs, but he's basically lashed out at every major economy in the world. It's an attempt to push back globalisation I suppose. They also now have their anti abortion pressure groups taking root in the UK and are apparently 'monitoring' our handling of the issue. We voted to be weak. That's actually the only thing now that stops me getting angry about these things. We voted for our own enfeeblement, we have fucking no one to blame now that bigger kids are bullying us.4 points

Yeah I didn't believe that either but it seems to check out, Shearer never did it, Macdonald never did it, Milburn never did it.3 points

To be fair to the news organisations, they needed to focus on the big stories, like how some people were turned off by Kamala Harris's laugh.3 points

Aye, if reality was going to do it's job it would have done it around the 2016 - 2020 mark. There was a 4 year gap between Trump leaving and them voting the cunt back in. That wall needs finishing but it should be around the entire US to protect the rest of us from their madness.3 points

i was in the gallowgate and my eyes are failing too but there was definitely a collective moment of disbelief after it went in before the noise. agreed with your post. Brentford are a tough side. Could have gone either way but I think we just about edged it and deserved the three points. We were far the better side in the first half. brilliant atmosphere btw- not just in the gallowgate and the corner. The whole ground was rocking at times.3 points

Onus on the rest of the world to do the Isak thumb over the shoulder at America and get to strengthening its trade deals with all other nations. Short term this is gonna be cack. Long term I assume it weakens America massively.3 points

I don't really know what the endgame is here. I assume he leaves these on for a little bit then takes them off and claims a glorious victory for the US, and says everyone's learned their lesson and they won't mess with the US of A again.3 points

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/trump-tariffs-chlorinated-chicken-uk-b2726709.html Trump to the UK - If you want the tariffs gone, open the doors to chlorinated chicken. If that's a red line for him in this trade deal, we're not getting that trade deal. If Starmer signs on for that, he's done.2 points

Agree. Trump is gambling massively on his unwavering belief that the rest of the world cannot exist economically without trade with America. It's on the rest of the world to do as you say which will ultimately weaken America.2 points
-
He wants chaos but I think he genuinely believes that he's braying the rest of the world, when in fact he's weakening his own country. His goal is not to wreck America cos he loves being loved, but that's what he's going to do.2 points

Actually I'm gonna start thumbs down-ing this shit. If "likes" are as important as every youtuber claims, I assume "don't likes" are just as powerful in the other direction.2 points

My thoughts entirely … Tonali doing Beardsley-esque shit. Not that any of us are complaining but we saw Pedro do this sort of stuff on more than one occasion.2 points
