Glad your old man’s home and recovering Chaser. I’m usually 100% pro NHS , but I’ve got to say that in my experience Renal nurses absolutely take the piss out of their patients.11 points

Thank God it's you saying this. If it had've been Gemmill we'd be a week away from Tindall claiming to be the greatest manager in PL history and holding up a letter from Bruno apologising for shagging Tonali's lass.10 points

there was one or two of us, me included, who got a bit of an indirect ticking off last week for expressing mild disappointment that we'd maybe missed an opportunity to comprehensively boost our goal difference against a diabolical leicester team. game management, busy schedule, job done etc etc being the counter argument. with that in mind I'm a bit loathe to confess this, however.... when I was walking back to the car on sunday, despite being happy with what I'd watched there was still a bit of disappointment that we didn't fucking really, really humiliate these cunts, because we could have. I despise these bastards with a fucking passion and isn't even down to having been on the receiving end of a fair few batterings on the pitch for most of my life time. it's because of cunts like this below. it's fucking hilarious watching this club fall apart at the seams and long may it continue, how fucking apt that skinny jim is selling the deluded cunts a pipe dream of a circus tent for a stadium. tin pot supporters? they only had a few dozen left in the ground after the 4th went in and most of them were footballing parasites with no self respect who only had 10 mile to travel home. big andy and the rest of these has been arrogant cunts didn't get the 7 or 8 mauling they so richly deserve this time, but it's coming...8 points

Tonali is so brilliant. There was a funny moment for me watching the match when Tonali dribbled the ball on a 30-yard run and burned past the Manc fullback around the outside, before turning back to keep possession to wind down the clock. The two clearly MancRed bias commentators seemed shocked, only then waxing lyrical about him being "lightning quick", with a sense of surprise, since they clearly hadn't noticed him doing exactly the same thing without the ball, not only every week, but also for the entire 90 minutes of the match prior to that. Yeah, dumbasses, he's lightyears ahead of your pedestrian ManU midfield. Imagine watching Erikson and Casemiro look like reanimated corpses every week, then seeing another team with two demi-gods of athleticism, Tonali and Joelinton. Oh the misery in their voices was magical.7 points

If you can present me with a decent Man United fan, and I can be convinced over a period of time that they don't feel they are inherently better than us, and that they don't have some kind of divine right to be in the mix for the title every season..... Then, and only then, will I see if I can conjure up some sympathy for them. Until such time, they can allllll fuuuuuuuck offffffffff and fucking suck up being a little bit SHIT for a while. They're still in the latter stages of a European competition as it stands, and they haven't been relegated in 50 years. They're not even having it that fucking hard at the minute. Get them all to fuck.6 points

I get the point but no team always wins. I think the key is to remain grounded. We want to win stuff obviously and now we've got the first bit of silverware in our hands, we want to build on it. The important thing is not forgetting where you've come from and taking nothing for granted. Our league cup win was special in many ways - predominately that we had gone for so long without success and that most of us had never witnessed it, but also what Clery pointed out - we did it with this team ... not one in 5-10 years time that is completely post takeover, it was this team - that included Schar, Murphy, Dubravka, Krafth, Willock, Longstaff & Wilson. Nothing will ever come close to this one, which is what I point out to the people who continue to state that it's a nothing cup. It might be a nothing cup to you; it may in time become a low priority for Newcastle United, but right now it means everything!6 points

Last One Laughing was one of the shows I've seen advertised all over the shop, but it just didn't look that good. So, when on one Saturday after the wife and kids had gone to bed and before MOTD started, I popped it on out of desperation. Genuinely one of the only tv shows I've laughed aloud to in fucking ages. Bob Mortimer is a national treasure.6 points

I've stilll have a frustrating feeling that despite cries of poverty and clearly being at the PSR limit, clubs like these will still find a way to buy big in the summer. However, holding out hope that the longer the rot goes on, the harder it will be for them to turn this around.6 points

a couple of months ago the consensus was he might be one to leave in the summer. Gordon’s moment of madness opened the door and gave him a chance - could have been his last chance for us if he didn’t take it - but he’s been brilliant. The best thing about his uptick in form is his overall contribution. He’s always been a goal threat but looked a bit of a one trick pony, always looking to cut in and shoot on his right, and often seemed to go missing in games when he wasn’t scoring. The most impressive thing about this run he’s had since the cup final is the work he’s doing off the ball. He’s much more involved in games now - both in build up and defensively. Barnes and Gordon are clearly our two best wingers technically - shame neither of them fancy playing on the right - but Gordon will have to wait for his chance to get back in. How do you drop Murphy or Barnes when they’re both contributing goals and assists?5 points

Winning the league is the dream. In some ways next season might be our best chance for a decade. Liverpool are no great shakes ans I think may decline. Arsenal stagnant. Man City in transition. We're already better than the rest. But it would take an amazing transfer window or two. We still don't have the personnel to fight on all fronts. Some of our own players are in their twilight. And we will have the CL to contend with (yes). I don't see us having the consistency for a challenge but even imagining it is possible shows how far we have come.5 points

"I am sick of these tin pot fans of these tin pot clubs. Ruining the game in my honest opinion" - Says Big Andy, 65 from Southend. Life long supporter of Manchester United. Hoping to finally set foot in Old Trafford before he gets his head blown off on a farm in the back seat of a range rover (because I assume that's how everyone from Essex dies).5 points

Yep. It's the case now that if the likes of ManU or Spurs want our players then so good luck to them. Any player would be mad to choose them over us. And it's arguably soon to be the same with Chelsea and Arsenal. If it isn't already. These clubs want our players. Who cares? We're better than them already and heading upwards. And, ironically, thanks to PSR, we have a somewhat favourable financial position relative to them because a lot of these clubs that have been incredibly poor with their decisions in the transfer market cannot now simply throw money at our players to lure them away from us. The landscape is shifting rapidly or more accurately it has already shifted. The lag in the media response is arguably the product of a football journalism class stocked to overflowing with three generations worth of players from clubs who have a history of just taking the players they like from other teams. It doesn't compute that they can't just buy our players like in the past. Personally, I think this maybe works in our favour. They'll wake up one day like an old hermit coming down the mountain only to be told the news from years ago that the "Big Six" is dead. Thus Spake Eddiethustra.5 points

fucking hilarious that ratcliffe rocks up with £1.25b investment and a remit to sort out the footballing side of the club only to oversee it spiral out of control in a sea of horrendously bad publicity. delicious that probably the one decent decision he's made was to poach ashworth off us and he bombed him out 5 minutes later. hopefully amorim is retained long enough to spend a small fortune and take them to the point of no return as far as relegation concerned next season. couldn't happen to a bigger set of cunts than those that latch on to man utd in an easy attempt at glory.4 points

One big problem for them is the psychological one, once the aura of invincibility goes, it's really hard to get back (and theirs is long gone), not many teams coming up against them now will be have any feeling of being beaten before a ball is kicked. Anyone will fancy their chances and conversely their own players will feel vulnerable. Since they unbelievably beat City in December they haven't beaten anyone outside the bottom three (per Clery).4 points

Interesting chart from Clery's video on Man United - the only team worse than Man United at resisting the press since Amorim took over is Palace. The "since Amorim took over" bit effectively removes their bad start to the season, so I assume they're still not great at this, despite their improvement in general as the season's gone on. I assume that will result in us being super aggressive in the press, and yes, potentially opening ourselves up to being picked off by their fast lads.4 points

Aye I noticed Sky and the like have done more segments on 'can they keep their best players?' since yesterday. Entitled deluded wankers. Also I think it was Wright who was saying 'can they consistently challenge the big six now'? Didn't have time to notice we're odds on to finish top 4 two times in the last three years and the in the year between that finished 7th having dealth with an injury crisis a semblance of which has crippled your beloved Manyoo and Spurs. But yeah aye I suppose we haven't really 'challenged' yet.4 points

I would've thought EH will need to be off work for a few weeks. As Toonotl says I'm sure Tindall, Jones et al will deputise well in his absence and the team picks itself at the moment.4 points

Man U were canny shit for the first decade and a bit of my life. They had two incredible decades in the 90s/00s under fergie but the amount of airtime they get, despite not doing much for over a decade now, makes their demise all the more amusing. Fuck them. They don’t know what following a shite team really feels like. A few more years of mediocrity won’t do them any harm. It’s character building. No club is entitled to success, despite what the “big six” twats say. Cry me a river for Man U fans3 points
