Nah. It’s because the owners have clearly lost interest in the project and Isak knows it6 points

At one point in time players had a sense of loyalty to their team and their teammates. That rarely runs beneath the surface these days. The money in the game has brought the unscrupulous agents and they are the ones continually in players ears about what they could be getting elsewhere for their own self interest. Combine that with the FA, FIFA etc all protecting their financial positions with payments that favour the powerhouse teams who they can't afford to lose from their competitions. It's shit and it's unfortunately only going to get worse. The only loyalty is from the supporters who suffer the ingrained injustices yet still fiercely support their team. These too will become fewer and fewer with more and more kids simply jumping aboard the bandwagons of the most financially dominant.. err "best" teams.5 points

The official club account hasn't posted it. I had to go to the trouble of typing Eddie howe press conference Singapore because of your selfishness. You wouldn't act like this on mumsnet or your discord with the crypto bros. Disgusting.5 points

I wonder what is going on in Isaks head and what he's said/is saying to the manager or his team mates at this point. He's been a promising and developing player for a most of his career but after the last season this is really the first time hes been a "star" and it feels like its gone to his head. Wonder if the backlash from his team mates (it seems that at the very least Bruno and Joelinton are pretty pissed off at his attitude to it all) and the fans has surprised him. Its said that behind the scenes Tindall is the one who is mates with the players and Howe is a bit of a hardass, so I can't imagine Eddie has treated him gently since his dedication to the club has dropped off.5 points

Since he was a small boy he's dreamed about scoring at the Kingdom Arena, and since it opened last year he now has the opportunity to realise those dreams. An opportunity he can't refuse.5 points

It’s worth noting that Isak’s agent only has a handful of decent players and none even close to Isak’s level. He’s their cash cow and a big move for him would be a huge pay day for them.4 points

Sounds like this Hopkinson cunt has plenty of experience with commercial deals. First thing he should be doing is sticking his boot up Silverstone’s arse.4 points

It's probably not gonna happen, but the other amazing thing if Isak went to Saudi is that it would be one in the eye for the Premier League if their stupid financial rules prompted the best striker in Europe to leave for the Saudi Pro League. These rules were designed to protect the top 6, not weaken the league as a whole.4 points

Offer a short term consultancy job to 'Pards' for the task or if you want an all round shoeing and menacing threat see if Souness can do a week's work offering him on in the gym.3 points

Yeah, everything changes all the time. There were arguably better bowlers in Lara and Tendulkar’s era too. More poor sides to play maybe now too. DRS balances things out a bit in favour of the bowlers a bit though.3 points

A ton in Aussie would definitely confirm him in the very upper pantheon (series win or not IMO, both would be good though 😁). Different game through the ages and impossible to compare, even things like the advent of all the protective gear has had an effect on batsmen's mentality, then there's the bat technology and the pitches etc etc etc. Standing up to Marshall, Roberts and Holding wouldn't be as daunting in modern kit but it'd still be scary as fuck.3 points

It's a very short career in top-level football & players with ambition can't afford to stay at a club that is slowly developing. Isak's chances of winning cups increases playing for Liverpool or PSG. Every player kisses the badge but at the end of the day it's a cut throat business & a player has to do what's best for him. Isak's value is pretty good right now & there is very little value in hanging on to an unhappy player.2 points

Thread on Isak on the SMB, nearing 200 posts in an hour or so. Nothing unusual about that. Except this is the thread that replaced the thread which replaced the thread on Isak. There's now been over 4000 posts of mackem gloating over this over the course of less than week.2 points

It’s just normal football stuff. Players move around. Bruno and Joelinton both left clubs to come here. As much as I hate it happening, Isak has personal ambitions both professionally and financially that we can’t meet. Had the club been run better and previous windows had worked better it may be a different story, but it’s crystal clear from Hope that us pissing the player about last year hasn’t helped either. It’s just the same situation that always haunt clubs not at the top of the pecking order. Far too many times its happened to us already. PIF ownership and onfield success has allowed us to temporarily forget how this stuff goes. Sadly it’s no different, we are just a little higher up the pecking order.2 points

If you take Bradman out of the equation then he is is right up there with the others in terms of all time great test batsmen. He’s really that good. Especially over the last five years. It’s just an incredible run of form.2 points
