I think we should be very happy with the team and the boys for last night's game. Even with Gordon. In another positiion, due to extra motivation, he was late to that ball and got a red card, but he was the best player in the first half. I'm eager for us to sign a real striker and see him play on the left. (Howe should give him a slap on the wrist, though.) Bad luck. Nothing more. Gravenberch's shot wasn't that great, but a tiny deflection off Schar made it impossible. We were superior throughout the first half and were superior with 10 players for over 50 minutes. Bruno was fantastic, leading the team like a true captain, although he has to know how and when to protest. Unfortunately, the referee didn't dare send Konaté off. I don't know what it was like in the stadium, but the television showed a more spectacular atmosphere than ever in the stadium. There are very good reasons to believe.9 points

One thing’s for certain, those cunts aren’t winning the league playing like that. 2 weeks running they’ve let a 2-goal lead slip from their grasp only to rescue it at the death - and this week they did it against 10 men. Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea will all have a field day against them. I’m fucking fuming that, had that arsehole made himself available today, we would have done too. So much mention in the last week about how maimed Liverpool’s players would be after that game. It’s ours that got lumps kicked out of them. We had them on the fucking ropes with a man less. Unbelievably proud of this team. The cohesive nature of the squad is on a level I don’t think we’ve ever known before. And it’s clearly rattling those we’re coming after.7 points

I think fans are making way too much of this and the "people wont want to come to newcastle" thing. I dont reckon it resonates within the profession at all. Everyone knows what Isaks doing, it's just down to whether you agree with it or not. Its the same as when people say "oh players wont go to X club because they wont play like rodwell or grealish" players dont think that, they back themselves to succeed. Same for the ones still going to man u, they're not going to fail like the others, its beyond their mindset to think that. tbh I reckon quite a few players will look at what Isaks doing and think he looks a prick for leaving his teammates in the lurch and that his agent must be thick as mince for not getting a release clause.6 points

Quietly going about his business and embodying everything required to be a Newcastle United legend. I questioned giving him the captaincy last summer - thought they'd done it as a means to ward off any thoughts of moving away. In retrospect it was yet another masterstroke by Eddie. Given the embodiment and togetherness of this squad, I wouldn't swap it for any other in the league. You can't put a price on it and others clearly recognise and fear its value given they're doing everything in their power to destabilise us.5 points

I’m not giving Gordon any fucking grief here mind. The lad is clearly 100% committed and is occasionally guilty of losing it. Him being unavailable for three games is due to him giving his all for us, as opposed the to the lad he was playing in place of. Liverpool can just fuck off- there’s no pride for them in this “victory”, it was given to them. We will do ourselves right this season, if this is our base level of performance.5 points

If he's not willing to sign a contract and Liverpool come forward with a £130m offer, if be saying to him that if hands in a transfer request he can go for £130m otherwise the valuation is the valuation and any less than £150m he will stay and be fined until he returns to training and playing.4 points

Is that a Bakewell Tart joke? Are you REALLY coming on this forum with a Bakewell Tart joke?4 points

We'd look fucking stupid if we let that scrawny prick leave now. Even more so if he hasn't put in a transfer request.4 points

Well I think they were gifted that for brokering the deal but couldn’t maintain the levels of investment needed by owners with the share of the club they had.4 points

I was just coming on to post that. Comparing it to striking workers standing up for themselves too btw.4 points

I think he would be the best option at present. So I absolutely do not see it happening4 points

"Little squirt" also used. He's right that the ownership should have got involved sooner than now, such that Isak understood that going on strike wasn't an option that was available to him.4 points

He isn't going to down tools for an entire season no matter what he's said. We also aren't going to hold him if we can find any sort of satisfying way out of this. But for the argument that players will be put off if we enforce the contract, I do think it is also worth considering that the negative impact on the careers of the players and staff that we -already have- is a factor in this also. If we sell Isak with no replacement, we've fucked over the entire team, Howe, and really the entire club. That's a bigger issue than 'potential future players'.4 points

Brentford need to hurry up and sign a replacement. Their incompetence in the transfer market is affecting our ability to take their player [/how it feels to post like an entitled scouse cunt]4 points

I don't agree with that like. He stays until at least January, and we accept money from the highest bidder. And then we reinvest and move on. We can't set a false market where he's not allowed to join certain clubs or stop him from leaving while making him rot. Or tell him who he can and can't join. It would be stupid from a PSR perspective anyway.4 points

Even if the table does say otherwise we could/should actually sit at the top with 6 points after two fantastic performances against two top teams. We just have to make sure to maintain this standard in the upcoming games against teams from the other end of the spectrum. That is what often did cost us in the past.4 points

He won’t get loved again but as long as he acts like a professional football player and not like a spoilt child I won’t give a fuck.4 points
