Just looking at the games we face in the CL and the current shape of our opponents I have us finishing on 15-16 points, 16 got Villa through automatically in 8th place last year 15 points getting you a seeded play off game although at that stage Real Madrid managed to play Man City so you could still get a pretty hard fixture. Only fixtures that are going to be really tough is PSG away and de zerbi seems to have Marseille looking a bit better, hammered a terrible looking Ajax but gave Real Madrid a game in Spain losing by the odd goal. Leverkusen look shit as do PSV and Bilbao, benfica have been beaten twice already. The latter three are all at home too, (I'm not going back to check!) so Marseilles away and PSG away, anything at either is a bonus, especially PSG, a point at Marseilles would be very welcome. We might also be hitting benfica at a decent time as they're next up. Also hope to factor in Wissa being back in contention as well.

Thanks all. Missus seems to be okay although I think there's plenty of tears especially when everyone is so kind. He was was a regular at our local football club and there's been a huge outpouring of love there as well. Found out he had pancreatitis which fucked his kidneys and liver. Went from a mad bugger to dead in just a few days. Come home to a florist shop which nearly set me off. 🙂 Every now and then I see or think about something and the tears well up. It's shit but he's pain free.

And especially with Trippier back in the side it a return to that lopsided four at the back which is almost a three with Trippier pushing forward and getting more involved in play. I also think Burn was targeted more at LB that season when Joelinton got injured. The current midfield 3 offers a lot of protection to Burn / defensively in general. TL/DR: what the fuck do we know compared to Howe and the backroom staff?
