I'm not sure why the slidy knee gun fingers celebration has annoyed me so much. I feel like you can get away with if you've hit the ground running. Not when you cost £130M and it's taken until December to score 1 prem goal.6 points

Tbh when it comes to deletions I want to keep as much as I can (for good or ill, honestly you should all be glad that some of the shite I got rid of recently isn't on the internet anymore) and only delete when necessary. Scripted deletions of data is something I don't really want to deal with making and testing or cocking up. I'm happier putting in a bit of grunt work now so that this is a relatively easy maintenance job in the future and so that members can just get rid of their old images or whatever when they breach the allowance rather than having to go through 2000% of it.5 points

@Renton Imagine I’m a black lad messily scoffing a tub of popcorn with a look of “Oooohooohoo, ya fucka! Here we go ” Thats the pic/gif I’d post now.5 points

OK, I'll be honest this got right on my tits. We're not google, I can't give you 200gb of storage for your couple of quid a month. In fact 200gb is about three times the size of this entire forum but thats not how the internet works and we are NOT a storage provider. Neither you nor anyone else has been asked to "delete thousands of posts", in fact most people who've said "I've got too much to do this myself" have just asked if I can sort it for them and I've done so. I spend a lot of my own personal time doing my best to keep this place running well without doing this sort of thing, but eventually its going to be inevitable we can't just keep growing and having more and more crap on here. I've been here for 20 years and I'm not even one of the OGs, I've been deleting thousands of 2 decade old threads that no one has looked at in years recently to trim back how much space this place takes up. Asking you politely to tidy up after yourself and consider how you use space in future, including Meenz suggesting multiple times in this very thread how else you can upload images etc. without it filling up your storage space here, after 20+ years existence should not result in this response. If its that beyond the pale for you you can take your two quid a month and stick it up your arse frankly. Are you going to miss this from 2023? Is it that fucking important?5 points

I’d settle for nothing less than St. James Minge. Given our climate, we’d need close-able piss(ing-down) flaps.3 points

It's like estate agent speak. I remember seeing a house near us when we lived in Lewisham being marketed as "Greenwich borders"3 points

It does kind of make sense to stick with the player we actually own, and not prioritise the loanee that will cost us over £20m to sign in the summer. Also none of us know what these lads look like in training. It might well be that the GK coaches are telling Howe that Pope is his number one.3 points

Could we maybe have a stickied thread in Gen Chat reminding senile old people like me what to use to host images? And please go ahead and trim my posts. I did make a start a while ago on my old images but then completely forgot. Thanks. Really appreciate all the work you put into this, Andrew. I feel like I’d be a bit lost without this refuge of (relative) sanity edit: might help if I actually tagged you in this post @Andrew3 points

The same ego at work that made him think he was entitled to go on strike at his old club. Fuck the bloke.3 points

I hope no one is taking you for granted but we are, unfortunately, grumpy old sods in the main so having to do things we'd rather not have to do ourselves is likely to cause issues. However, if you wish to ban stats generally (xG specifically) or CT's ChatGPT ramblings, I for one am all for it. 👍3 points

Tries to classy his 60th up a bit and he would have been perfectly happy with Bon Geordie, duck pizza, and a big telly wank after she's gone to bed.3 points

Cos that’s where these shitty violinists were playing. Just want my slippers and peppermint tea but still 30 minutes to go til our tables ready. This has been a grim afternoon.3 points

I mean , I know you are all a bit slow, but fucking 60 today Utterly depressing number. And then the wife books a suprise day out. Thinks she’s booked us in to see a big orchestra playing Christmas music and ens up being six violinists playing unheard of classical crap. Walked out after 10 minutes3 points

He's played one game where the opposition didn't turn up. Let's not run away with things just yet. We continue to monitor the situation on a match by match basis and react accordingly. As others have said, Pope is the better technical goalkeeper, but he needed to have a break - for his own confidence if nothing else.2 points

Haha, from his Bluesky profile I'm rather assuming it's not, at least. Although it'd be funny if someone like that decided to go under the radar as a casual football fan on socials (not that using his real name would be going under the radar, but it's one of the most generic names possible, so you know what I mean). Maybe lots of them actually do.2 points

Traditional media outlets are scared. It’s not just the UK but you can see it all over the world. The tactics of the 1930s sowing distrust are in full flow again with people being increasingly worse off economically. People are looking for simple solutions and easy scape goats. The likes of Farage, Le Pen, Trump, Reform, AfD are unrealistic but easy solutions. It’s nothing you can counter by offering reason. With newspapers, state funded broadcasters and other traditional media outlets struggling financially themselves or fearing the wrath of right wing governments they stay silent for the sake of their own existence until it will bite them in their own arse.2 points
