Players have a short amount of time to make a lot of money. They are also one bad injury away from not playing again or having to drop lots of levels (and income). I listen to a lot of ex-footballer podcasts and a lot of them spend the money as it comes in, like we do. It's the same, just at a different level. I think the players get advice more now than they did 20-25 years ago but it doesn't mean they'll take it. A lot of them are flash kids that love the limelight. There are always exceptions though. I think Fowler bought half the property in Liverpool with his money.

To caveat that I think players look back retrospectively and say the best time they had was at X and are proud to have played for that club. I think players like Colo and Jonas think that way. They may not have had that feeling when in the moment though.

They only have a short career so will look to maximise income. It's not only the weekly wage but they'd get a fat signing on fee when moving as well. They are only an injury away from being their last contract.

NUFC are struggling to fill the corporate spots now. I've had numerous cals this season to see if I was interested in x game and I noticed they discounted the prices for the Wolves game.

I thought the days of the "He plays for the love of club" had been extinguished. But here we are. Players are just like any workers. If they get a chance to get paid more money and/or move to a better company (club) they will go.
