  1. I remember when my dog died and some woman I know from an old work place posted on my facebook saying she couldn't understand my pain as her pet hamster wasn't very well. She was promptly deleted
  2. I was a trial member of Greens like... Posted about it on here at the time. There was a bit of a conversation started by me about how great it was when some fit lass got out of the hot tub just before me and I got to check out her lovely arse and how it was one of my favourite reasons to go to the gym. My wife's mate was looking in to the gym and googled it... the 3rd search result for it was a link to that very thread. She clicked it and there's my pic as my avatar so she had a read... no idea if she got to page 2 where I was talking about basically perving on other lasses, and if she did I have no idea if she told my wife. Needless to say that once my wife told me the story of her mate finding my forum post I immediately logged in and removed all pervy comments lol!
  3. Wow that's ridiculous! I though FX was expensive at £42.50 a month! Yeah will be giving it a swerve with regards the tennis although I imagine the facilities are very good for those who can afford it. Mate of mine's bird works at Glen Eagles and he has a monthly membership there... costs him £170 for the gym (reduced from £260 due to his bird working there)... all he uses is the Jaquzzi... not even the steam room or sauna as it's 'too hot in there'. £170 a month to sit once or twice a week in some warm bubbles for 30 mins... crazy!
  4. Am sure I'd be ok tbh... maybe once I hit 50 or something it might be too much for me, but at the ripe old age of 32 I think my heart should be pretty healthy... I don't smoke, drink probably less than 10 units of alcohol a week and eat very healthy food... so yeah probs drop down dead the 1st time I play
  5. Aye I'll be giving that a miss, although I do have a quite expensive FX gym membership due to expire so that would free up some cash, but I'd imagine Davie Lloyd is doubole the price if you want to use the tennis facilities too. There's a place by the looks of it in Wallsend that's just opened... e-mailed them yesterday but not had a response yet
  6. Is it more aerobic than 5-a-side though which is constant bursts of sprinting? Haha badminton? Erm no thanks
  7. Aye all sport will ruin you at the end of the day... even just running ruins your knees. Might have to be careful though as forgot I've seriously done both my ankles at points playing footy... one took 2 years to even be stable enough to play again, and the other 6 months but every now and then would go again. I have a good ankle support so hopefully that'll keep me right.
  8. Probably the only things that work ok at the moment so at least I'll be abusing the healthy parts of my body
  9. Aye it's mainly for the fitness tbh as am getting quite unfit doing no sport. Tennis is the other option so that might be slightly more enjoyable and I at least know the rules!
  10. Cheers mate, looks like Eldon Leisure is going to be the best option. No idea how to play or what the rules are though...
  11. Nowt worse than when you've made a good home porno and can't work out how to get it on the pc like
  12. haha aye I found those ones but thanks for a proper response
  13. Thanks for your input... you've been very helpful
  14. If I put it in the Tennis thread the chances are someone who plays squash won't look in there... so yeah definitely worth a seperate thread.
  15. Further to my thread about indoor tennis courts... If I decided to go down the squash route instead can anyone recommend somewhere?
  16. Might start taking up Tennis now my footy team has dispanded as need something to keep me fit and have a mate who's been bugging me for years to play. Are there any indoor courts in and around Newcastle?
  17. Don't know if many on here will have listened to Jake Bugg's album but it's awesome... can't believe he's only 18. Quite a lot of the tme when you hear new artists and they have some catchy songs you get the album and the rest is just filler... not this one though and some of my favourite tracks aren't even the one's that have been released as singles. Would highly recommend this to anyone who's heard any of the singles and liked them
  18. Mass hysetria Chemicals seeping in to the water supply from a train crash carrying toxic chemicals in the 70's Other environmental factors Synthetic marijuana Faking it (not possible IMO) Infection caused by 'strep throat' that has led to neurological illness Probably others too that I haven't remembered. No one seems to know though which is the sad part
  19. Here's a good albeit lenghty article that's worth a read on the subject. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/11/magazine/teenage-girls-twitching-le-roy.html?_r=0&adxnnl=1&pagewanted=all&adxnnlx=1351249423-vwiGJBfsaQN3IBAKVGLjRQ Strange how I can't find anything from a more recent date than this though... seems the story has gone cold other than for the documentry last night
  20. Yeah must be an awful thing to happen to such young and previously healthy people. I for one don't buy the mass hysteria diagnosis... there's something gone / going on here that needs to be sorted as there'll be more and more cases I think if they can't get to the bottom of it. Strange how these things can happen to one town... bit like the Bridgend suicides in Wales where suddenly out of nowhere a set of teens all start being effected by something completely unexplainable
  21. Don't know if anyone saw this last night but it was a really interesting and somewhat difficult to watch story: In October 2011 in the tiny town of Le Roy, New York, a handful of teenage girls from the same high school suddenly developed symptoms that looked like Tourette's syndrome: facial twitching, violent limb gestures and uncontrollable verbal outbursts. Some doctors believed they were victims of conversion disorder, where real physical symptoms - in this case tics - are triggered not by a physical cause, but by psychological trauma. But within a few months 18 students were sick and the diagnosis became 'mass hysteria'. As a cry for help, the girls went on national TV and their story caused a global media frenzy. This remarkable documentary meets the people at the heart of this outbreak, including the girls who have recovered, as well as those who are still suffering. http://www.channel4.com/programmes/the-town-that-caught-tourettes/episode-guide/series-1/episode-1 Worth watching on 4OD if you didn't catch it.
  22. I read the 4 will be about £380 so it's about the same price as the 3 just now. Mind I noticed the 2 is still £320 in apple stores so you're right that they don't come down much! If it's not going to be much cheaper I'll probs end up getting a 4 as might as well have the latest if the costs not much different
